I think people are just hostile without any apparent reason... this anthem does not mention ANY politics, drugs, etc. (Although it amazes me how much blood is mentioned in some parts, but nevertheless, the lyrics are quite epic). The song is about moral values and patriotism, which some Mexicans take a bit too far, to the point of trying to degrade other cultures. If you want to be respected, then respect others!

Although, according to WikiPedia's article on crime by nations, it appears that theft is much more prevalent in Mexico than the US. Also, my understanding of hamburgers is that they originated from Hamburg, which is located in Germany.
