Do you still think this sucks? He just hit 12 HR and 29 RBI in one month. He hit 30 HR and didn't play 37 games all while being an incredible defensive player. So let me ask you again, do you still think this sucks?
Oh yeah, he's an amazing clubhouse presence too. Does all of this add up to sucking? Uhhhh................maybe in bizzaro world.
@Stamm32089 The thing is with contracts these days is that you have to sign guys to long term deals to get them and that was the case with Beltre. You need to hope for 4 to 5 productive years in which he already has one outstanding one and then hope for the best the final few years of the contract. This year he was well worth the money and he proved this contract year crap is a fluke. So far he his proving you wrong and as a Ranger's fan you should hope he does that for 5 more years.
right on brotha... preach the... uhhh hopefully good signing???.... go go brandon webb / cliff lee imatation year? si young go go.... thats about all we can hope for... allthough... i see alot coming out of colby lewis this year.... he won are only win the world series... i think he has what is takes.... hopefully john daniels in company have something up there sleve
I am a 110 percent with you. He was in Seattle (as I am sure you know) and he was streaky. However he was very good when he played in Texas. He even hit the cycle once. But it was five years down the drain in Seattle. He's a contract hitter. How else can you not hit in Seattle for five years and then go to Boston and bat better than Ichiro. Yes he had a better batting average than Ichiro last season. Nice video.
Great video man. i totally agree with you. im not sold on him at all. Even though he had a great year last year i keep remembering the terrible last couple of years he had in seattle. But i hope it turns out well.
Beltre is a greedy man. I wonder if he'll slack off now that he has his cash. I didn't want him, because I know he would pull a Randy Moss for us. Your ballpark made several people look good hitting wise. Including Milton Bradley (who is a bum today). We'll see what happens.
regradless we got better we needed to do something. beltre is a 10 times better 3rd baseman than young. its a 5 year worth 80 million option for 6 year. soo its not as bad. ya greenberg did do that. y u think we ddint go 7 years worth what 160 i lee. who is 34 or 35. im glad we didnt do that. he may have another good year or 2 maybe but thats it after that he will become a avg pitcher. i like it we got better
@IENinersfan Webb is low financial risk though. We basically mortgaged our entire future on Adrian Beltre today and I think we should've been smarter with our money.
@Stamm32089 its only 5 years 80 million. option for 6th. its notttt that bad. we didnt give him 140 or 160? i think somewhere in that area like we weregoin to give lee. we have plenty of money thats not even close to being all of our money.
Streakiness is baseball. Let things play out. Beltre is a great player.

If the Rangers go on to win the World series this year, he can fart at the ball for the next 4 years and I wouldn't care.

@Stamm32089 He just hit 3HR to put us in the ALCS, are you still not liking this longterm? We'd be playing game 5 if we didn't make that signing.

woah that is a ton of cash..well the free agents for next year are weak so i guess the Rangers weren't afraid to sign Beltre..

They got Brandon Webb too, question with Texas will be their pitching. Position players are looking very good.
