  • this cat is broken

  • my cat does this!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • My cat does it when we put the laser point out of her reach (like on the ceiling) we call it the death chirp. It sounds really scary sometimes

  • My cats do that whenever they see flies or birds. I have read that it's called "hunting-clicks". Some people say that this is similar to what bats do, to measure the distance between them and their prey. But I'm not sure, there are so many different opinions about this. But it's really funny to watch!!!^^

  • @MeetTheEnd Yes, some say it's meant to mimick the bite needed to actually kill the prey. :P

  • Ha ha, my cat does that everytime he sees doves. Fun to hear and watch.

  • cats make those noises to prey

like a bird they make that noise to try and get the bird over to them

  • my cat tends to do this when tired or when he is comfortable

  • my cat's making that noise right now looking at a tasty fly

  • A quiet clicking noise may mean that your cat has spotted an unsuspecting bird and is planning lunch!

  • Indeed it may. In this case it was an unsuspecting fly.

  • Ha ha, my cats do that too whenever they see birds or flies. The cat is trying to imitate the sounds of its prey to draw it closer. So your cat is probably trying to buzz like a fly.

  • Thanks for another interesting explanation. :)

  • my cat does that to its so funny

  • its actually the way cats have been for years. They make that clicking sound to let there family know that theres food ahead

  • Really? That's interesting. Anything to back this up?

  • kool cat
