Friends and I were in Japan when we heard about this ad and looked it up (we were wondering why Tommy Lee Jones was on all the Suntory vending machines). We'd known about the Boss coffee but as soon as we saw this ad, we ran out to find a vending machine with Rainbow Boss in it.

Bizarre. How did Tommy Lee Jones end up there of all places, a non-speaking role in a Japanese TV commercial, and presumably he doesn't speak Japanese. Presumably plays off his part in MIB.

Yeah, VERY weird isn't it.
Why of all people would the Japanese want Tommy Lee Jones to sell coffee, and coffee in a can at that!
