I, for one, like the echo , for one reason: if the sound equipment may in some cases not be the best available, you can smooth it over somewhat (to a point, of course). This way an amazing performance won't be overshadowed by a sound equip. flaw. Could still have done without the backing vocal track, though, i.m.o.
