i challenge the two people other than vidaslow who commented before me to try the current (2009-2010) Niner Bikes lineup and still say the same thing. if weight and maneuverability are your only reasons for sticking with the 26" wheels, then get yourselves on the saddle of any of the new niners.

26 inch will exist. Racers will demand them for lighter weight and better maneuverability in tight areas. the 29 inch movement is just catching up with modern style and techniques

i think 29 is not bad. but most people will stick to 26 for better maneuverability.
