Best live album ever. IMHO it's better assembled than TSRTS. With the amazing bass lines of JPJ (he definitely deserves to be first), the powering drum riffs of Bonzo, the sexual voice of Robert Plant, and last but not least, the leader of it all, Mr. Jimmy Page.
This is one of the few bands were EVERYONE in the band was on the same level. You're listening to masters...but more specifically, bass players serve a dual function: accentuating what everyone else is doing and holding down time with the drummer.
@LukJahar to be honest i think he would let his fingers run over. At that time jimmy was on top of his game, he was very inventive and felt the music. BUT we should not forget his inspiration also came from A VERY tight rhythm section led by jones and bonham.
@mikehowton707 if youtube allowed every live zep track on then the site (and possibly) the universe would implode/explode because NOTHING can contain that much awesome not even a black hole!

i have a question, when Jimmy Page just jams like that, does he play in a certain key or just let his fingers run free on the fretboard?
LukJahar 9 months ago
@LukJahar just because hes not playing rigidly doesnt mean he's out of key, open ur mind gosh

@pmacj i don't think you understand my question, i'm asking if he is in a certain key or if hes just playing to whatever Bonham is playing?
LukJahar 8 months ago
@LukJahar well I'm no expert but I would imagine he has to be playing in such a way to help Plant sing the song on key....
