edh is a amazing 100 card format no more then 1 of each card (excluding basic land) and your colors have to be the color of your commander your commander has to be a legendary creature like i run Teneb The Harvester he's green black and white so my cards in the 100 card deck has to be green white or black (or artifacts) ! hope this helped

I like Sharuum the Hegemon as a general because of how useful she is... recurring something absolutely amazing like Platinum Emperion or just a little toolbox artifact is really fun, and the fact that you can play her any time you have mana instead of having to wait to draw her is what makes her great.
@Greendayluber234 You say that as though competition isn't fun, and imply that if it were possible to play competitively nobody would play casually. That isn't the case with any other existing format, why would it be the case with EDH?
@Toksyuryel im not saying competition isnt fun, im just saying that it would kill everything in EDH and would have people building really evil decks, will limit the choices of fun generals, and would be too crazy of a sanction. also, it would be really, really silly
Great format, yua can use almost every card, a lot of common cards are amazingly good (rhystic study, trinket mage), if you make a tiny mistake you can lose, each player have different ideas even if they use the same general (I always prefer card recursion... planeswalkers are ridiculously good). You get to see very rare, fun interactions of cards that you don´t get to see en standard, extended and even in highlander. BY the way, I use Zur (ctrl), Wydwen (wizards ctrl) and Nath (tribal elves).
As with 100-card Highlander, the decks are inconsistent enough that no two games are the same. In EDH, I think people form an emotional attachment to their general. Your deck becomes an expression of your identity. The 40-life start point means there's time to make ridiculous card interactions that would never happen in a format where aggro works.
