In PlayStation 2, PC and Wii versions, beating Separate Ways will unlock this gun for the main game, while beating Assignment: Ada will unlock it for Separate Ways, where it costs 300,000 pesetas. In the main game it also costs 1,000,000 pesetas.

I am a RE4 Master and I say the Chicago Typewriter is number one. The chainsaw has a vital glitch: when he is about to draw backward and lunge up immediately turn around and back up into Dr. Salvador and going past him in reverse. Also number five should be the standard handgun: you in the face and you kick or suplex (recommended). So everything else bumped up the line.

I would prefer the term most powerful. The only downside is that it cannot destroy crates, barrels and such and also the fact that it can be slow sometimes when charging. That would be in order to compensate for it being very powerful. Then again, it is not "compulsory" to use the weapon for the whole journey from beginning to end.

Me personaly, I think the Typewritter is the number one gun, after the Golden Chicken Egg of course haha. Just point and shoot and whatever was in your was is gone. Suret he Handcannon has an extremely unnecessary amount of power with it's one shot kill, but the Typewritter has enough to get the job done in about one or two shots. Plus it being full-auto, along with unlimited ammo, and it's styleish 30's gangster look, makes it the perfect gun of the game.
