@Developersoftware01 hey, I'll gladly answer any questions you have regarding my videos, but I do try to avoid sending project files out... it's not that I don't trust the internet community, but I like to be diligent in my creative security. Let me know if you have any questions, though, and like I said, I'll be more than happy to answer them.
@xllr8 actually, I got quite lucky; because of the strict contrast, the dark outlines of the objects passing in the foreground are nearly pure black. As a result, by setting composited craft's blending mode to 'darken', I was able to make it appears to pass behind the objects in the foreground without actually keying anything.
@ds5432 I used motion tracking on one corner, and then manually calibrated the mesh warp for the other three corners, it took a couple hours but it wasn't too bad.
@davismit000 yes, I composited a couple dozen stock images including a jet turbine, a factory skyline and parts of the international space station together to make it. I only took a couple hours.
@CosmosDarwin did you motion track Z axis aswell to make the harry potter newpaper work, or how did you make it like warp /bend with the aper, and just look natural when you changed the angle and distance ????
@CosmosDarwin so you manually keyframed every pic to make it bend with the picture to get it to stick, (just wanna see if i got it right ) :D
Ps. thanks for replying, and for some higher power (and me) make some tutorials!!!!
Ps. that face warp, could be from a movie, cuase that worked out f*** great :D
Ps. the effect pf the blu neon glow color, yu said duplicates with blur, but when you JUST had it in PS did it already look badass sci fi, or did you have to mess around to do that?
@leafblowinSK8 Yes, I did keyframe about every second frame manually. It didn't take too too long, but it was admittedly monotonous. As for the neon blue glow, yes, it looked pretty sick even raw in Photoshop. It's all about the curves and essentially useless design elements.
@leafblowinSK8 Yes, the choice between Add and Screen... it changes from one video to another. In fact, I may have set some of my duplicates to Add for a punchier effect, but I'm truthfully not a huge fan of the compounding effect that multiple layers set to Add has... everything gets blown out and ends up loosing color in favor of this cool yet undesired white look.
@leafblowinSK8 contrary to popular belief, one doesn't actually 'make' an explosion but, generally speaking, rather composite one. See detonationfilms[dot]com for some cool pyrotechnics you could composite. However, in the area of actually making an explosion from the scratch with particle programming and the like, no, I have no experience nor advice to offer.
@CosmosDarwin ok srry for noobish term but i have some stock footage of smoke and explosions etc, but i cant manage to get the /composite the desired result.. Help?
@leafblowinSK8 In what way is it not the desired effect? All I can offer as generic advice is to increase the contrast to make sure it composites properly, and to add duplicates of your explosion/smoke with blur. This has a similar effect to feathering edges in the sense that it makes your various layers of footage less distinct.
Good job. I like your project. Btw, what song is that? i like it :D

How do you bring 3d objects into after effects or do you use a 3d program? I use 3d invigorator to open 3d files

Great Job!!
what filter did you use for the news paper replacement?? i see u used AE, but not clear on the filter
and the morphing scene is great as well, but i guess you have to buy the filter
ds5432 1 year ago
@ds5432 I used Mesh Warp, it comes standard with AE, atleast with CS3 and later.

@CosmosDarwin
Thanks for the reply?
Mesh warp has a tracking system in it? I didn't know that
If not how did u track it and got it stuck on the news paper? I know AE's tracker ain't that good
Thanks again :)

Nice work on motion tracking the space port. Looked amazing. Created in Photoshop?

@leafblowinSK8 no, I tracked only in two dimensions. I used Mesh Warp (under either Distort or Transform) and actually scaled it with the warp too.

@CosmosDarwin good tip, thanks, ive never reallly used that method :) will try it out
Ps. problem is that its a direct face angle and the explosion is suppose to be kinda small, but i will figure it out :)
pps. srry for spam of questions yuve been great :D
Really hope yiur gonna make some tutorials xD
