R.E.M. opened a rain show in Costa Mesa, CA with this song back in the Fables of the Reconstruction tour. 1985/ 86?

they opened their show last June out at Jones Beach NY (an outdoor ampitheatre) with this song in what was nothing less than a torrential downpour (this following a 1 hour delay due to severe thunder and lightning.) it was unbelievable. timely, of course, but in a showman's way. and delivered gamey as well.

it poured for 2 hours that night, and rem played the entire set with a fervor and spirit i hadn't seen in a while. it was a joy to behold.
