@kevinmeehan71 This video is from two years ago, so how you can judge my bodhran playing from this is beyond me. I don't like replying to these idiotic comments, but this one annoyed me a lot. If I was such a sloppy bodhran player, how have I won 4 All Britain titles on the instrument? I know that I'm not world class, im not stupid. But I'm not going to take criticism off someone who probably isn't John Joe Kelly standard himself.
ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC...Well Impressed,..and thanx for the friendship!
p.s I play the bodhran too amongst other things, and im really impressed with the sound of the bodhran in this video.....who made it?????..is it an O' kane??..let me know if you can jay xx
Hi, It's a Christian Hedwitschak MHTF Bodhran. It's the skin he makes called dragonskin which makes it sound good. Unfortunately, the one you see in this video is currently which Christian as a put a whole through it at our last gig :)
Quite good ability, but they appear to need a purpose in life ! It wasn't an easy gig ! and they needed a set of at least two tunes or the rythm just becomes meaningless, and I could see this destroying any remaining inspiration !
You need Inspiration to get music !
See Sierra noble, with guitar accompanyment, on a beach - somewhere on this Tube . Yah, lol, that wot what etc.
Fine playing. Pay no heed to people who say .."don't get me wrong, move more whem you play" or " sounded like the fiddle was out of tune". In my experience, these people are sometimes a little jealous or what others do that they can't do themselves.
Keep going and your enjoyment comes across in your playing - you don't need to prance round the stage like complete eejits!
With Niamh living in Lancashire, this is difficult. It would need to be for a largish Festival to justify the travel at the minute. The furthest South we are venturing so far is to Bideford Festival on 14-15 Aug 09.
what a sloppy bodhran player

Wow! I love this one!
Sounds like a tune I used to play on my violin. I didn't play so well but I sure tried. Ha!
Really good to hear your wonderful, chrystal clear music.
See if you can do my Mississippi Gold song. My simple melody just begs for YOUR musicianship.
I'd be proud to share you with my over 3,000 YouTube friends and others.
Keep me posted,
Debby

They're good. The music they were playing isn't easy to play and they played it quick and together. Excellent job!

Standard Irish style tunings of GDAE for both.

Gotta be a clumsy lover if he takes that long to tune. That was joke. But yes, very nice work you guys. You never fail to impress. 5/5

It was hot on stage, it was well in tune beforehand. Have tightened the screw on the tuners, that may help.
