When he says that this car's top speed is electronically limited to 130 mph...does that mean that the limiter can be disabled or turned off as well? I mean I heard that it's put on by the government or something like that but do all cars have it? I've asked this question before but never got a good or clear response. Awesome car still!!!

@gladiatorsworn you're not 100% right. only the cts barely and the cts-v models from Cadillac are good enough to compete withe german premium cars the rest are trash. And if you see the number of luxury and sport models the bmw, merc and audi I have to say it's not enough only 2 car models. So I don't think the cadilac is real competition maybe in US but not in the rest of the world.

The Audi is the car with the best build-quality on the market. Caddilac, Ford and Chrysler is cheap crap compared to the Audi. Also the technology of US cars is from the past century. Direct Fuel Injetion, Dual Cluch and electronic controlled air suspensions are technologies that you can only find on german or some japanese cars but never on a american car. The Chevrolet Volt was developed by german engineers from Opel because the US engeneers are not very smart.

This is not new model but updated version of 2005. So it is faster than 2010 BMW 535i 0-100, slalom is the same as 2010 BMW 535i, better on the skid pad than BMW, better interior and exterior than BMW, just wait for the all new 2012 A6 it will eat the competition. This car is on the same level and better in some cases than competition and it is 5 years old with minor updates.
well since im already an enthusiastic fan of audi i was comparing it to the A4 and the A8. what distinguishes the A6 over those 2 for me to take it instead of the others. IMO the A4 is sportier and cheaper..i like that. The audi A8 is mroe luxurious. I just feel the A6 is a balance but might not bring enough to compensate with my decision. But i know where your coming from.

If this reviewer wants a car that emits its power better than the A6, he should look into the S6 or cars that are 2000 lbs lighter, because the sole purpose of this car is to deliver a unique face of luxury, and it does so with ease. I still don't understand why people are obsessed with racing such big cars. I tried it, but it just felt like I was tossing around a boat. Anyway, I love the A6, it's the best "luxury" car in its class in my opinion.

i have an audi A6 2007, and i certainly plan to buy this new supercharged A6 2009. The Audi A6 ticks all my boxes i.e. 1design, 2engineering, 3engine innovation, 4drive. Sorry, nothing the reviewer can say will prevent me from owning another A6. In fact, I plan to own a new A6 for the rest of my life. Amen.
I had the 2.7T, a great car...now I have the new A6 Avant with the 3.2 V6 engine...it hasn't got turbo, so it isn't so brutal as the old 2.7T...I think I'll buy another A6, and the new 3.0T will be my preference...
Well, what about the Mini Cooper? It has an S badge, and while at first it stood for "Supercharged", it is now a turbo. But it could just stand for "Sport"...
in my opinion super charging is better that turbo charging, because super charging is more responsive than turbo charging (most of the time) dont get me wrong turbo is great its just not as responsive.
Turbocharger is better overall, but for daily driving I prefer supercharging for the increased throttle response, since I don't have to wait for the turbo to spool :D I do love it when turbo kicks in though, not gonna lie
I don't think BMW has a twin turbo engine... I know they have sequential turbo engines, where a small turbo spools from the get-go, and when the RPM's are high enough it switches over to the big turbo...
My aunt has an 06 3.2 wagon which (sorry Audi fans) feels downright slow. The 6 shifts way to early in drive to allow any fun, its (as stated) stiff-legged, and has awkward ergonomics (no a/c off button!). On the other hand, it is cavernous. We had to bring a HUGE recliner home today and, amazingly, the whole thing fit right in w/o fuss. If given the option, the Volvo xc70 T6 would be the car of their choice next.

the audi a4s outsold the 3 series and benz in europe last year (2008). they sold over 98K units! audis are behind in sales in the USA, because of consumer ignorance. audis just need to continue to market themselves more in the states, to get people into their showrooms before they walk into a benz or bmw one. once they do that, they will surely realize that it's really a no brainer. the audi will prevail.

I think Audi is beating Mercedes and BMW cars this time ... Just take a look at the Q7 V12 that is as fast as an M5, the RS6 that kills the M5 and the M6, the R8 V10 faster than any BMW, the S4 that wins against the 335xi, the 3.0t A6 that eats the 535xi, the TT-RS also better than the new Z4 300hp and I'm not talking about mercedes...

Compare sport sedans, ok, maybe BMWs have better perfs, but it's tight, very thight, and only on DRY SURFACE. No question of who would "beat" the other on a wet or snowy surface. I agree that BMW are nice cars, but their "M" are just shit because they are RWD... Audi got the trick with Quattro, whereas BMW remain in a RWD policy for their sport cars

And i think the reason most consumers chose Bimmers over Audi is because BMW are simply a more model blend of comfort and sport. What i find with Audi's ive test driven, is there is too much emphasis on the sport. I test drove an A6 4.2 sport, and could not believe how terribly harsh the ride quality was.

That wasnt my argument AT ALL. First of all, BMW doesnt build any models in China, and they only have ONE model being built in the USA. What i was saying was that BMW has Audi down pat in global sales numbers. Look it up for yourself! You know why BMW is the leader in luxury car sales? I think this particular one needs more break in miles. Other magazines got the A6 to 60 in 5.4 seconds. And C&D said the thing is a rocket and handles like a BMW(granted it had the sports pkg) WHILE riding like a Jag..... Someone's wrong and I'm hoping its InsideLine because I really like this car.

300 to me inst vroom, check my videos, 550 hp 570 pounds of torque Charger RT. My 2nd car is a 2009 360 hp Chevy 6.0 liter. BUt for sure this would be my choice to replace the chevy IF they redesign it to kind of look like the A5. More mean, you know? i have an audi A6 2007, and i certainly plan to buy this new supercharged A6 2009. The Audi A6 ticks all my boxes i.e. 1design, 2engineering, 3engine innovation, 4drive. Sorry, nothing the reviewer can say will prevent me from owning another A6. In fact, I plan to own a new A6 for the rest of my life. Amen.

I had the 2.7T, a great car...now I have the new A6 Avant with the 3.2 V6 engine...it hasn't got turbo, so it isn't so brutal as the old 2.7T...I think I'll buy another A6, and the new 3.0T will be my preference...

in my opinion super charging is better that turbo charging, because super charging is more responsive than turbo charging (most of the time) dont get me wrong turbo is great its just not as responsive.

Turbocharger is better overall, but for daily driving I prefer supercharging for the increased throttle response, since I don't have to wait for the turbo to spool :D I do love it when turbo kicks in though, not gonna lie

I don't think BMW has a twin turbo engine... I know they have sequential turbo engines, where a small turbo spools from the get-go, and when the RPM's are high enough it switches over to the big turbo...

My aunt has an 06 3.2 wagon which (sorry Audi fans) feels downright slow. The 6 shifts way to early in drive to allow any fun, its (as stated) stiff-legged, and has awkward ergonomics (no a/c off button!). On the other hand, it is cavernous. We had to bring a HUGE recliner home today and, amazingly, the whole thing fit right in w/o fuss. If given the option, the Volvo xc70 T6 would be the car of their choice next.
