@dylanwade2020 I agree with you when you say that Nirvana got inspired by Melvins among other bands. That's true for every band. Nobody lives in a bubble. But is it really fair to reduce Nirvana down to Nevermind? If you know their work well, you'll have to admit that the large majority of it doesn't fit in the MTV world. As for the Melvins been better than Nirvana, it's all about personal preferences. I like them both in different ways. I don' t look for the same thing when I listen to them.

@primaryspiral I wasn't trying to start a fight I enjoy Nirvana, Negative Creep is still one of my most favorite songs.
Also, I didn't mean to sound like I thought Nirvana was pandering to the mTV audience, they just got thrown into it, I understand that.
But when I read people seemingly disregard The Melvins influence, I get upset.
No hard feeling on my end, I hope it is the same on yours.

@Osthropek Cobain paid the ultimate price. He gave everything. He was so vulnerably bleedingly open that its almost hard to look at. That takes balls..I think thats why he is loved and widely more known honestly. I think Nirvana could do many things and might have very possibly evolved in a huge way given more time. The Melvins seem a little bit one noted comparatively..
