I have eczema ono my legs, recently the rashes stopped but instead, these huge welts that look like bug bites pop up and my dermatologists have no idea what's going on. Any advice?
I dont think i have eczema but my doctor said i could have it. I have super dry skin. It always itches especially in my neck, back of knee, front of elbow, and my back. When i scratch i get little rashes . So could i have eczema ?
My hands are so dry and cracked and they bleed and itch so bad and I usually itch them until they bleed, and is it normal if the rest of your body itches constantly? My legs and stomach and arms and back itch constantly -.-
I have eczema on the back of my head on my scalp. It is SO annoying and I end up having dry skin on my clothes all the time, it is absolutely gross. I don't like to use certain creams though because I am a girl and those creams make my hair super greasy and unattractive. Is there anything else I can do?
Hey guys.. i have eczema.. i have eczema on my face couple of months ago, i forced myself to stop scratching and constantly washing my wash with cold water, don't think that having eczema is the end of the world, eczema is just itch, be thankful we are still be able to think, feel, eat, play, and have fun... don't give up! i believe there will be a cure sometime in the near future! :)
Ok I can't take cold showers bc it actually makes me more itchy. Cold weather makes me itchy and I hate Wisconsin. I wish I could live in a warm place like when I stayed at Texas for a week I didn't itch at all there. Fml
coritzone creams don't work, usually make it worse, this is looking at the sympton but not the cause.
I have found a huge trigger (dpeneds on the person), would be GLUTEN, try cutting down on it and see how your skin reacts. also finding natural organic shea butter helps loads, may not smell the best but give it a try!
Folks I found the most unbelievable treatment for eczema. Use Vaseline Aloe fresh moisturizing daily body gel with 100% Aloe vera. I have been putting it on the affected area 4-5 times daily or as needed. It has really killed the itch and helped the skin heal and it is just about gone. All of this in a two week period after suffering for 20 years with this horror. Just do it. Its only $5 at Walmart.
My eczema is spreaded all over my arm. Its now on my chest and my neck and chin. Its really itchy.I use lots of cream and anti-histemean to stop the itching and the flaring up.Anything eles I can try to stop it spreading? And I dont seem to grow out of it!
Is there a way to get rid of it once and for all? There must be some sort of root problem to all of it, mustn't there? I've asked this already but I think it would be really good to know because I've been going to many doctors and each one has told me that it isn't curable. One said it'd go away in about 4-5 years. I have no intention of spending my life with eczema and doubt that anyone else would want to either.
@AwesomePsychoArtist try cutting out, recducing what you eat that has gluten in it. It takes time to clean your body out, give your time to heal. As someone who has dealt with eczema for over 10 years, it has been on and off and now eat a high raw food diet, I notice huge difference in skin, Am also trying organic shea butter with lavender in it(or try peppermint oil in it), does not smell best but am finding it works well. cortizone creams don't work for me.
My sister has been having eczema ever since she was born (shes only 7 mounths old) and her docter recomended aquaphor is that any good for her eczema,? it does sorda help but is atolpalm better?
Myeczema is soo bad. It on my palms and legs. I haev been using Triamcinolone Acetonide cream, 0.1% and it made my skin look wrinkled. I recently started using Aveeno Eczema Therapy lotion and it seems to be helping a little but I dont know waht to do about my skin that has been danaged by the steroide cream. Please help with any suggestions.
Hi, this may sound really stupid, and I think it does to; however, I have found that whenever I have nicotine it helps my eczema. If I stop getting nicotine for a little while for example anywhere from almost 1 week to 1 month, my eczema gets worse. I've heard that most people say that smoking etc. worsens their eczema, but i feel like it's the opposite for me. So i'm wondering if anyone else has a good answer to this, or maybe someone else feels like their eczema is better with nicotine too.
I found success using virgin coconut oil. I am actually having flare ups right now on my face, nothing excessive just dry spots that itch and small bumps so i put coconut oil on my face and the itching stopped however the marks... i guess it'll fade with time :-\
I think I have eczema, but I haven't told my mom because I think she'll freak. I have no clue why I got it but I got it the day school begun. Maybe stress? Help.
ive been using cortisone on my eczema. just wondering though, if i stop it'll come back, right? is there any permanent way to get rid of it or am i basically stick with it for life? thanks!!
I understand that you are the expert and all but I was wondering, shouldn't there be some sort of root problem to this kind of eczema that you can get rid of so it won't come back? Because my eczema has cleared up but then after a short period of time it came back and spreads to more areas so shouldn't there be a way to get rid of it once and for all? But thank you for the ways to stop the itching; they're really helpful! :)
I also get these very annoying and itchy bumps along with irritated skin. But when i squeeze the tiny bumps, clear liquid comes out. In other areas its just dry irritated skin...i get severe breakouts about once every 6 months, the rest of the time its one concentrated area... does anyone else get this?
I suffered from really bad eczema in the past, with deep cracks and large areas of skin pealing from my feet (hands to). After all the treatments I tried only one helped, that was E45 cream. Prevention is better than cure, you need to find the trigger of your eczema, mine was eggs.
@blabliful Because there are so many different types of marks that eczema can leave, your excellent question can't be answered in the limited space YouTube provides, but I will respond with a full episode.
My childhood eczema was caused by food allergies - cow's milk, eggs and peanuts. Cutting those foods out helped a lot, especially with the inflammation and itching.
My derm in Atlanta ordered oral antihistamines for my husband and you are so right. They did not help. Good tips for not itching How many days in a row can you use Polysporin. I have heard 3 days. Doctor thank you so much for doing this video. We have been to so many derms and this information is the best I have heard. I am from Buffalo and need to get to NY to see you. Thank you for the time you donate to this channel.
@CalicoCatMissPeachs There is no toxicity from topical polysporin in patients who are not allergic to its ingredients so this topical antibiotic, like bacitracin, can be used on a continuing basis without danger. It is certain types of cortisone that the duration of topical application must be limited for. And thank you so much for your kind words!
@2012singularity Vicks Vapor Rub has a high concentration of anti-itch chemicals that in fact will relieve the itching of eczema but they are at such a high strength that they can irritate sensitive skin and thereby aggravate the eczema. Not recommended.
@dermTVdotcom I do the sport of wrestling and I started in late 2010. However in February of 2011 I got impetigo I used cephalexin and it got rid of it. Then in April of 2011 my doctor said I have eczema I never had eczema nor had any signs of eczema in my life. So I am just wondering if my doctor made a good diagnosis?
I've been dealing with Eczema for a long time, i usually have bigger problems with it during the winter but lately its been bothering me on my scalp ,my ears and neck.
I've also heard from someone who has Eczema that tanning helped them? is that true? could tanning help Eczema?
@kayore611 Ultraviolet-induced tanning is caused by ultraviolet waves that are known to have a small anti-inflammatory effect, and so indeed, limited sun exposure (i.e., the UV rays, not the tanning) can modestly help eczema, but it also causes skin cancer. Not recommended!
So funny: I've found out about many of these things on my own :D (It means they work). But still thanks for the further information about the actual working components, doctor :)
But one question: why do we itch when it isn't because of eczema? Like, it is nothing there - no redness, bumps, dry skin... nothing, but it's still itchy?
@lollsazz You skin has individual nerve fibers that conduct the sensation of itchiness to your brain. Sometimes they misfire, despite there being no adverse condition in the skin to cause them to fire. It's essentially a false alarm.
@SanneMusic Shea butter is a good moisturizing ingredient for eczema but any hard shells will aggravate eczema. I have no opinion concerning the other ingredients.

Gotta love that disclaimer at the end? "This video does not contain medical advice". umm, what?

@mushroomhill It's so people don't take the advice and helpful hints over actually going out to see a doctor or to visit your GP if necessary.
Though the hints help a lot.
