  • I remember seeing Bobby Goldsboro do this on the Johnny Carson show and Orson Welles was a guest and praised Bobby profusely for the greatness of the songs content and the performance. Good times when talent was real, not shallow. When you could understand the words and it wasn't ignorant FILTH!

    Have this on an album too which I'll always treasure.

    As soon as I started hearing this on this sight I teared up bigtime. Thanks Bobby Goldsboro. Mom always loved you too.

  • I spent 25 years looking for it. first heard it in 1975, when computers became common in music stores in 2000 I found it. One of my favorite songs of all time. I think your aunt shows very good taste.

  • My wife and I only discoved this song last year on our drive from Florida to  New York. It of course brings tears to our eyes each time. Both the words and melody are sonething Special.

  • Great Song... Bobby Goldsboro's voice is wonderful, pleasing, crisp, soothing, and melodious! Listening to him is like having a close and loved friend sing to you. It feels personal. :-) I love this song and HONEY.

    I still get "Glory Bumps" when he gets to the part about the Butterfly coming in the window. Miracles: We should ALWAYS believe in them.

  • my mum used to play this to me,we used to sit together listening to the words with our eyes closed,unfortunatly my mum died in 2001 aged 49,but this will always be mine and my mums song,I Love You Mum,God Bless you Mum,I miss you everyday.

    My Dad always loved Bobby Goldsboro and would play his "8track" *(wow those are gone LOL) in the car on the way to PA on vacation. So many memories. GOD bless him. He's turning 60 this year. :)

  • A friend of mine told me to find this song and when I did, I practically bawled. I was at school, too! People thought someone died, I was crying so much.

  • I first hear this song in 1975 or 1976 on KIDO in Nampa Idaho and have loved it every since.

  • My father (God rest his soul) played this for me years ago. I was in my mid-20's. This is beautiful, both in the lyrics and the melody. I absolutely wept hearing this. I still cry everytime I hear it, even though it's from the generation before me. I just love this song.
