@check779 . THE ONLY THING I CAN SAY IS I FEEL SORRY FOR YOU THAT ALL OF YOUR HOPES AND DREAMS ARE GONE. YOU TRULY HAVE NOTHING TO LIVE FOR. NOW THAT IS TRULY SAD. I WAS BORN BLIND AND GOT MY SIGHT BACK WHEN I WAS 7
Autumn of my life Molly--and who could ever forget Honey--Bobby Goldsboro was unequelled when it came to tear-jerkers. Like Red "Teddy Bear" Sovine but is a much better singer.

Bucky Goldsboro... now THAT'S a name you'd give yer son, if you want him to get his ass kicked all throughout his life. Even worse, if he's blind and WITH buck teeth !
This song , and my vision that came forth from this song, are too sad when put together. I think I will cool off now, with the Black Betty Ram Jam vid, or maybe some Deborah Corday sexercise videos here on our YourTube...
I remember seeing Bobby Goldsboro do this on the Johnny Carson show and Orson Welles was a guest and praised Bobby profusely for the greatness of the songs content and the performance. Good times when talent was real, not shallow. When you could understand the words and it wasn't ignorant FILTH!
Have this on an album too which I'll always treasure.
As soon as I started hearing this on this sight I teared up bigtime. Thanks Bobby Goldsboro. Mom always loved you too.
I spent 25 years looking for it. first heard it in 1975, when computers became common in music stores in 2000 I found it. One of my favorite songs of all time. I think your aunt shows very good taste.
My wife and I only discoved this song last year on our drive from Florida to New York. It of course brings tears to our eyes each time. Both the words and melody are sonething Special.
Does anyone know if Bobby Goldsboro is still performing?
some of my most fav songs, summer the first time, honey, autumn of my life, pen in hand etc but this is the first time I have heard this. I am adding it to the list of "tear jerkers of all time" x
Great Song... Bobby Goldsboro's voice is wonderful, pleasing, crisp, soothing, and melodious! Listening to him is like having a close and loved friend sing to you. It feels personal. :-) I love this song and HONEY.
I still get "Glory Bumps" when he gets to the part about the Butterfly coming in the window. Miracles: We should ALWAYS believe in them.
Thank you for posting this song. You have made my heart happy...
my mum used to play this to me,we used to sit together listening to the words with our eyes closed, unfortunatly my mum died in 2001 aged 49,but this will always be mine and my mums song,I Love You Mum,God Bless you Mum,I miss you everyday.
A beautiful song, makes me cry every time. Reminds me of my daddy, who sadly passed away on the 22-12-07.. He played this song for us kids all the time.. I love and miss you dad so so very much..God bless xxxx
God bless you sweetie. Our Heavenly FATHER is watching over you sweetie and you'll see your earthy Dad again NEVER to part again!
My Dad always loved Bobby Goldsboro and would play his "8track" *(wow those are gone LOL) in the car on the way to PA on vacation. So many memories. GOD bless him. He's turning 60 this year. :)
A friend of mine told me to find this song and when I did, I practically bawled. I was at school, too! People thought someone died, I was crying so much.
My father (God rest his soul) played this for me years ago. I was in my mid-20's. This is beautiful, both in the lyrics and the melody. I absolutely wept hearing this. I still cry everytime I hear it, even though it's from the generation before me. I just love this song.
I had not heard this song for over 30 years until today. It was a country music hit in the mid 70's. I am a 61 year old man and had some tears and goose bumps once again.
This is indeed a poignant song--ironically, I was 15 years of age when it was first released--in 1976 (though I never heard it until seven or eight years ago).
One of the most touching songs ever written/sung. And thank you Bobby Goldsboro for the many many hits and memories. I loved your tv show as a young child and "helmet" the cartoon was my favorite (besides you of course - haha). God Bless you. Such talent you were blessed with.

Blind kid sees thanks to that great eye surgeon Dr Strangely-White and his pet butterfly........
Jeez, that is possibly the most nauseating thing I've ever heard (with the possible exception of The Christmas Shoes...)
