The thing that irritates me about this beach is that Virginia blocks off False Cape State Park for driving. You essentially have to turn back around, drive back down to Kitty Hawk, take 158/168 or US 17 to get to Chesapeake or Norfork, Va. The Currituck lighthouse (somewhere in this area) is pretty though.
