  • the headstock is different on the website to buy it from /: I like the headstock on this video so much more! "sadness"....

  • Two years ago i saw zakk wylde live and for the full 2 and half hours he played nothing but his Epiphone Les pauls i found that to be very cool.

  • Ash is also what they make some Fender Strats, Teles, P Basses...

  • willy "two fist" mcgee !

  • Rectangles are for transvestites. Trapezoids, like Les Pauls have, are for men. Ah. Just kidding. But seriously, it's a trapezoid...

  • Wish you could cancel Votes acc. voted trying to rewind

  • i bought a custom version of this guitar and it feels and plays like crap!

but it could just be that the neck is completely flat witch makes it rattle A LOT

  • nice man you should form a metal band. you ll be awsome

  • Sounds like muddy fecal matter.

  • I just recently bought a Glen Burton LP copy (like a LP Studio minus the pickguard, whatever that make is called) and I have to disagree about Epiphones being the best copies! I have not played an Epiphone anywhere near as good, and I've tried out dozens of them. I'm a big fan of GB guitars now; it's a great quality guitar at budget price. Stays in tune for days, awesome tones! Also; this guitar weighs the same as a LP, I have checked it against an actual LP. It's thick like a deep dish pizza!

  • @slump2u Yep. Epis were cool for a while but now Agile and Stellars make better LP copies. Stellars you need to work on but for $200, you can't lose!

  • Dot inlays are for the kiddies. Rectangles are for men.

  • @ShawnDanielTV Hahaha

  • @ShawnDanielTV and dragons are for chuck norris

  • @giggythore i just sent it in to get work done on it and now it plays wonderfully so sorry about that trolling that did lol

  • @giggythore i just sent it in to get work done on it and now it plays wonderfully so sorry about that trolling that did lol

  • @ShawnDanielTV Hahaha well said.

  • @ShawnDanielTV fender?

  • gota love ash

  • Suena a caca esa guitarra...

  • the closest thing to a lp low budget axe is a silvertone ssl3-i've tried em all- next to that would be an epi

  • my replica sounds good too xD

  • I guess trapezoids aren't taught in the ghetto

  • who doesnt love ASH

  • hahahaha i love how this guy never gets to handle the expensive gutiars..hehe hes always got an epi or glen burton

  • you say on here that its made of asain ash wood but on youre website sound odyssey in the description it says its made of mahogany. get it straight

  • i realize the low E string was already out of tune, but listen to the pitch drop when he lifts the guitar at 0:54 hehe

  • Should I get this or an Epiphone Les paul Special 2?

    Please answer

  • @A7XRULES60000 neither, save up for a les paul lp 100

  • @AcousticTransmission

but the lp 100 is pretty much the same as a special 2

  • You guys need to review some SX or Agile stuff. Cheap and can put out some great sound.

  • at least the headstock isnt as goofy as an epiphone....

  • This thing weighs more than 11 pounds...

  • i got a gb les paul copy for $160 it sounds ok, but mine isnt a gold top it is like a wine color that bursts into black, i like it

  • its very cheap like between 200 and 400 but its not too good quality and yea its soft wood i have one i got for 250, its not very good but its a step up from my knock off fender strat

  • O.o sounds rly muddy... soft body wood im guessing.

  • ash is what they make baseball bats out of......

  • It looks like a les paul but sounds nothing like a les paul. It sounds very bright, more like a strat or tele. I don't know how cheap it is but if you want a bright clean sound Squier seems a better low budget choice.

  • hay if there is any one if some one wants a gibson copy i think burny is beast. i own a epiphone lp but it is nothing comperd to a burny.

led zep own a burny, and curently the aer burny reisues going foe £400 and for want you get it is amazing.

  • this guitar looks ok. but through my years of playin guitar, i would say if you are goin for a copy go for the stagg lp. but if you really want to get your money worth get a gibson or simpley a epiphone

  • Are Esp LP's any good?

  • The fact that he keeps on saying "This is a great begginer's guitar" over and over again completely KILLED his chances of me buying thins thing. A tip brother, someone buying a Les Paul copy needs VERY good reasons to pick your copy over the les paul studio or it's Epiphone relatives, and this video did nothing for that to happen

  • its supposed to be gibson

oit says gibson in the title.

were i live epithones are fucking shit

  • I like this guy,I really do.

.....but please make him stop playing!!

  • tell me about it... those are some odd keys...

  • is that a fender hot rod deville?? seems they took the sign off.....

  • i rather buy a epiphone sg

  • did you modify the guitar in anyway

  • my first guitar and is super

  • Hey guys there is a dvd out A Complete Custom Electric Guitar and it has the preview on here. Its pimp my guitar for sure

  • that amp as fantastic clean tones

  • is this guitar really as bad as everyone says it is?

  • this guitar sounds bad

  • jay tursers have the best lp copy for the 150-300 price range, i have one, and ppl are always asking if its a gibson and i paid 200 for it. its extremely versatile, the treble pickup sounds like a twangy sg, and the rythm pickup is a little muddy, but still vry deep, so its great if its ur only guitar, and u need alot of diff sounds from one guitar

  • no. epiphones are the best lp copies on a budget.

  • then how come i played a $600 epiphone les paul and it sounded worse then mine, and played ALOT worse? not to mention it felt cheap..

  • thats YOUR opinion. every once in a while you will find an expensive guitar that has some defects. just because you played one epi that wasn't that good doesn't mean jay turser is the best.

  • haha ive played dozens of epi's, and theyre all prty good, but just saying, if i could spend 200 on a guitar that sounds, plays, and looks just as good as somthing 3-4X as good, or pay 800 for somthing just cause it says les paul on it

  • epi lps are not $800

  • well, to get a decent one, u have to spend at least like 500, and i said the one i could find that was as good as mine was like 800...yes, u can get an lp junior for 100, but most of the time, theyre rly pieces of crap, once in awhile ull find a good cheap epi, but most of the time u still have to spend alot

  • my epi was 400 and it sounds better than my friends $1000 lp. i am not saying that all epis are great but they are certainly better than jay tursers.

  • then y did i spend 200 on a guitar that sounds/plays like a gibson if theyre so much worse than a stupid epi?

  • it plays and sounds like a gibson? have you even played one before? there is no way a 200 dollar jay turser can even be compared to a gib

  • ur mom felt cheap. ha.

  • dude, i know what you mean about the epi les paul, when i first went to my store it sounded crap but after a couple of hours of playing it all corrects itself if you get what i mean. i'd never get any other copy les paul apart from epiphone and maybe gordon smith but that's just me.

  • epiphone sucks, i played a les paul custom at the local shop, it sounded like shit, the sustain sucked, it did not stay in tune, and it just wasn't comfortable, i have a harley benton les paul that i got for just under 100 bucks and it was ten times better than an epiphone.

according to me the best les paul ''copy'' and i use that term losely is the hagström swede

  • omg why do i keep telling people this:

"just because you tried one and there was something wrong with it doesn't mean they all suck"

Some guitars have problems, that doesn't mean it's a bad brand

  • the custom wasn't the only one i tried, i tried the standard, the studio, the lp100, the sg400, the sg310, and the les paul special.

non of them were good according to me

  • well of course the studio/100/and special suck they are very cheap....i'm talking about the standard which im guessing you only tried one of

  • no, i tried three of them, they all sucked just as much, and the money you pay for a les paul custom is even more than a gibson les paul studio (wich is a great guitar btw)

  • wtf? epi lp custom retail = $800

gib lp studio retail = $1300

and i doubt very much that you tried 9 guitars

  • i worked for 3 weeks, i had nothing to do on my lunch breakes and the guitar shop was just over the street.

if you check the price of the les paul studio on thomann you see that the gibson is much cheaper than a epiphone les paul custom.

were i live they sell the standard for 1300

  • Comment removed

  • @barrelstudios thats wierd cause over here in vegas the epi lp customs are only 600

  • @JoKeRzCaRdProDucTion well i don't live in vegas

  • thomman is a german website that sells instruments, bought my first guitar fronm that shop, they make really good deals.

ps: why did you remove your last comment?

  • @JayLacelle no... a vintage v100 is the best lp copies for the price...

  • @JayLacelle Try the Rally GL300 or if you want a copy of the les Paul Supreme then check out Rally GL 450 it's cheaper than the Epiphone but it sounds better than the standard epiphone les paul. Try googling it It's good and very affordable: Singapore $349 for a 98% Gibson les Paul. The 2% would be the look, it has a sharp cutaway

  • @JayLacelle WROOOONG WROOOONG WROOOONG!

  • @JayLacelle YES!!!! AGREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

  • @JayLacelle No, Epiphones are not copies they are real les pauls.

  • @Macsk8ing They're authorized copies.

  • @mosnaidei Not authorized copies, they are real les pauls mother fucker.

  • @Macsk8ing

you meen epiphones i agree how much do you think this one would be anywhere

  • @1998trevergray What do you mean? In price? Because if you're talking about price they are 199 USD on the link on the description.

  • @JayLacelle Vintage by john hornsby is the best... own it and played lots of epiphone....vintage is better then all of em accept those higher priced epis

  • @JayLacelle You should try the Agile copies. They are DAMN good. Make sure to get the 3000+ series though. I have a 3100 CSB and if there is is a better playing epiphone I haven't found it yet.

  • @JayLacelle No agiles are.

  • @JayLacelle Some people say Agiles are the best copies. But I've never tried one.

  • @JayLacelle so agiles arent as good as epiphones?

  • @psyckla5

Don't know the original question, but as an owner of an Agile Al-3000 I can assure you that any Agile 2500 or 3000 will flat-out KILL, SLAY, MAIM, DISTORT, AND BURY any epiphone. Period. The bonus is you don't have to break their F'n neck and have it repaired to play right . . . .

  • @varmintslayer63 You're right! Epiphones are okay but there are so many "off" brands that play better than them. I when I got my Stellar LP copy, I sold my Epi the next day. Then I threw in a couple of Retrotrons and that guitar is better than anything I've ever owned!

  • that was actually pretty funny i don't know why people didn't think that was funny

  • i find this guy is a walking advetisment for soundodessy

  • I just ordered this guitar. Is it good for 200 dollars. I mean it's either that or like something else.

  • is it any good?

  • If you have more money get something better. This guitar is only good if your within it's budget. I got it today.

  • is it set neck or bolt on?

  • I'm not sure what you mean but I guess it's bolt on. I mean I don't see any screws on the neck indicating so. I hoped that helped. Also I changed the strings when I got it.

  • gibson guitars rock. there just awesome

  • lol it's not a gibson

  • THERE NOT RECTANGULAR

  • triple high five

  • i really dont like his playing style....

but NLG does good reviews and gives great tips

  • 2:59 - HOLY CRAP

  • so what? he just shreded down i think it was the a minor pentatonic scale? trust me its easier than it looks =)

  • will smith!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @hellogangsta NO ! He's Willy BIlly 2 Fist McGee... xDD

  • he reminds me of will smith in a good way though like the way he sounds moves his head and speaks

  • He does!

  • im looking for a second guitar i might save for a gibson les paul studio or a mexican fender strat

  • Mexican strats are terrible, go american or high end japanese if you are buying a strat.

  • ...i beg to differ

  • You can beg all you want, they are lower quality.

  • i got that same gibson and honestly it kind of suck

  • really cause im planning on getting one

    is it worth

igot a pice of shit fender stratecaster from fuckin Bj's some one who has this exact model would you recomnend it is it worth it??

  • oh ya, it is lighter than a les paul because it is made of cardboard, and parents, don't waste your hard earned dollar on this POS for your kid, get them a real guitar made of real wood. guitars like this are the reason kids give up after 2 months, cuz they don't know what a real guitar sounds and feels like... just my 2 cents yo

  • LOL I have a tokai LS135 and I can garantee in spite of being cheaper than gibson is not a cheap model and is made in japan you can check out some videos here on youtube and gibson tries to take these off the market because people prefer cheaper models but it can be as good if not better than the original les paul

  • Sounds muddy with no presence. Maybe just a bad Utube recording, but this is not an impressive sound, even for $200. No punch, no life to the sound; just mud. If you want a low cost guitar get a used Paul Reed Smith SE on eBay for about $400 or sometimes less. Those are made in Korea with a reputable name brand.

  • yeah i kinda agree with you.

  • i agree completely...

  • You're probably right... hard to say without having it in your hands.... but 199 dollars !!!! Really for that price unless it feels like a complete POS and stays in tune then I say go for it...... the problem is that a beginner wouldn't really know that a guitar is a POS ..... I've been playing for years and still can't tell when a bad feel is due to the guitar or a bad set-up.....

  • this guy is sweet!!! i loved this video!!

  • how much does one of that cost?

  • why does this comment thread make it look like there are only two reasonable choices in solidbody, gibson or gibson knockoff

having briefly played a few high-end guitars, i think my next big buy will be a PRS custom 22, imo they're just more appealing to the senses all-round.

  • When a company can take a classic design and make it more affordable it gives the dinosaur companies the competition they deserve. Gibson charges an insane amount for their instruments, and the money doesn't go into the electronics or fretwork past a certain price, the extra hundreds of dollars they charge go to stupid things like five-ply binding or a certain expensive finish. If a competitor makes a cheaper version of their guitar, the original company must lower their price.

  • I can see you now...on stage...grinning from ear to ear thinking about the money you saved buying a Chinese guitar...You're the same person who tries to convince me your "metric cruiser" is better than my Harley Davidson...if I have to explain it to you...you wouldn't understand...

  • Nice elitism. How much does that cost?

  • What it doesn't cost...American jobs!

  • Nice logic.

How many factories exactly have any American companies had to shut down since Glen Burton released this guitar? If anything, competition keeps the American companies stronger by encouraging them to make better instruments. That's just capitalism.

  • If I have to explain it to you...you wouldn't understand...

  • If you don't have anything useful to say, just stay off the comments page.

This guitar is a very good student model, and I wish I had known about them when I started playing.

You have asserted that expensive, American-manufactured instruments are superior, but offer no actual argument and instead offer condescention (If I have to explain it...) so don't try to push that elitist bullshit.

I'm not going to read anything else you write, so you can stop now.

  • If I have to explain it to you...you wouldn't understand...

  • 119 hundred dollars

  • Comment removed

  • tv jones pick ups in a gretch are better

  • Wow that guitar is just another copy. Its so bassy and muddy. If you don't have enough for a gibson then buy epiphone and if you're a bit more experianced and looking for a better tone definatley upgrade the pups.

  • its only muddy because of the distortion pedal he is using

  • THe weight statement is all wrong.

LP come in a bunch of different WEIGHTS

I have a 97 LP DC CHambered and it weighs in at 6lbs, and i have a 91's LP Custom that weighs in at 21lbs.

...the two have electronics that are SO different that you'd swear the DC was a tele. ....Piezo bridge, a coil Tap on both pu, a phase switche on combined sound and it makes a whole new world of sound

  • 21 pound les paul? i don't believe that unless you added a bunch of stuff

  • i do ash is heavy as fuck

  • Holy shit cheap as hell

il fucking get one like in a month NICE!!!!!!

  • is it the amp settings or does the guitar have way too much bass?

  • The inlays are not rectangle. They are trapezoid. lol

  • Does anyone know if this guitar is better than the Epiphone Les Paul Studio?

  • the epi is probably decently better, probably has a little better quality control, and better hardware/electronics.Though if it was me,Id just save up for ever and get a gibson, cause everything is just a knock off.Its like buying a car with a body like a ferrari and a honda motor and go kart chassis, its not the same.

  • It's affordable for the people who can't afford an expensive guitar. It looks darn good, so forget about getting upset because it isn't a Gibson. My Gibson guitars rarely leave their cases, because too many people want to grab them and start playing them.

  • I love this guy. He does great reviews. Would like to see him do lessons too.

  • xxxxxxxxxxxx2

  • Makes me wonder...if the people who buy this guitar also drive Kia's...and wonder what happened to USA company's like GM and Chrysler and Gibson and the jobs lost in this country...

  • america is not the only part of the world !! why would anyone want to pay 3000 for the same guitar you could pay 200 for just because a cowboy built it ?

  • exactly what im sayin man....

  • how can it be a les paul copy if it is made of ash? same shape, way different guitar. sorry.

  • guitars, especially the les paul, are versatile. listen to it and be the judge.

  • i didn't realize this isn't an epi or gibson, but what I said about versatility and knowing "what sounds good to you" still hold true. someone could hear a guitar and think it sounds like crap, and someone else could think it has amazing tone.

  • love the new guy . 5 stars

  • I know exactly what you mean dude, as Epis aren't exact cheaper copys, the have a few features that make them there own, not to mention the headstock shape.

  • Exactly, thanks! =P

  • ITS ONLY 199.99 dude thats a great deal!

  • haha the guy is well cool!

  • Great demo !!! I put this one on my list. Wanted an original as a kid now I can have one to mess around with. Thanks !!!

  • I like the way this guy plays

  • dude why isn't this guy doing lessons, I want to learn some of that stuff

  • does anyone know the chords he was playing with the clean tone?

  • didnt he say the price for this guitar?

  • 'Cause it probably varies at different music stores. =)

  • Isn't this more of an Epiphone Les Paul copy?

  • Glen Burton, its in the title and he says it twenty times, read the headstock.

  • I know that. But it say it's a Gibson Les Paul copy by Glen Burton, but it looks more like an Epiphone Les Paul. =)

  • So you wanna say its not the copy of the original, but a copy of the copy of the original XD

  • ...and Epiphone Les Pauls are designed to look like Gibsons.

Why would they make a copy of a copy guitar?

  • I know that. You guys are really making me feel dumb! I know Epiphone les Pauls are designed to like Gibson. Lol

I was saying this guitar BY GLEN BURTON(I know that too!) looked more like a copy of an Epiphone copy than a Gibson! Go have a look at the title. =P

  • wow only 200

  • This guy is a great presenter. Knows his stuff. I've never heard of the Glen Burton Les Paul. I'll definitely check them out in more detail after seeing this.

  • aw dude turn it up to 11!

  • well yea he does some slick moves, but its just not formed together well...
