I guess the UBC FD finally got a real fire to deal with... after dealing with the Chemistry building being on fire for the 12381298301928301928 time in the week
So, I'm I to understand, that an aerial ladder/platform wasn't available? ...That it was neccessary to put personnel on the roof with slippery AFFF to extinguish from the roof?
@detroitfirefighter Due to the location of the building they were unable to put an aerial device up to the fire. As you can see in the video there was a large courtyard on one side and large trees on the other side. They did put up an Aerial on the far side of the building so the guys could get up to the roof.
Yeah if by "better" You mean Horrible and shakey.. I cant even tell whats on fire your moving around so much. And whats with the Digital zooming back & forth. I was getting motion sick.
Tower 7 is no longer at Hall 7.. It is supposta go to Hall 10 and become Tower 10. But someone drove the basket part into a tree. So now its being fixed. So no, it wasnt at the fire.
Thanks, yeah I havea few scanners. I bring them everywhere I go. I got luckey on this fire, I had just gotten off work 5 minutes earlier so I was pretty close.
This building was in an akward place, the only ladder acces was from the "Alpha" side of the building, the view in the start of the video is from the "Delta" Side.

they seemed to have a hard time pointing the hose at the fire and seemed more interested in hosing down the side of the building

Wow, I got through 15 seconds before becoming ill from all the shaking and VERY poor footage. Definately prefer this one over Acadia park!!

Was there no aerial device on first or second alarm? Didnt seem like one got there till 3rd alarm arrived? Other than that awesome video....

There was an aerial(ladder 10) up on the other side of the building on the first alarm.

Hearing the communications in the background nice. Gives you a better idea of what was going on.

Nice footage! I'm surprised that I didn't see any ladder trucks in the air trying to put out the fire...
