This was the one that did it for me - massive fan after hearing this - clearly the best song of 1983. I even had 3 earrings in my left ear and a false ponytail - my mum wouldn't let me shave my hair like Alannah!!!!! Aaahh the good old days!!!!!!
I played my LP tonight and remembered this most excellent song. And searching on here found this. Fantastic stuff!
@binker1: Thanks for the upload and in such great quality too. And you’re right, the bass player is very good. The bass line makes the song (apart from the keyboards that is :).
I find this video and the song pure torture. I'm not surprised Tom Bailey is wearing shades; he doesn't want anyone to recognise him. His two pals are creepy.
Yes thats me in the back at the very beginning and also Boris Williams on drums. Andrew Bodnar on bass, an amazing player. This was a TV show called The Switch, it was my first TV appearance and also on the same show Sade. She was so excited she was crying and phoned her Mum. it was the Summer of 1983
@RogerODonnellTV: Yes, I was stationed in England when this song came out. I've always liked the bass lines in this song. I'm a bass player, and to this day I have a hard time trying to copy Andrew's bass playing. I remember seeing these guys performing this song on a program in England called "The Tube" hosted by Jools Holland. The bass player was performing behind a large sheet and you could only see his silhouette while he played. I thought that was so cool.

Interesting that Joe in LA, Alannah in London and Tom who knows, won't reform yet have been interviewed together in the same room a few times over the past decade. Amazing!
In the cameo peformance Tom's Tin Tin Effect is revealed as the fundamental elements of the Thompson Twins, Some call this strange and weird but this was the surface of the comic adventures of the Thompson Twin Tin Tin.

Probably not their most famous song, but definitely my favourite, and one of their best (in my opinion). Thanks for posting.

One of their best songs! By the way, according to Homer Simpson, Xylophone's are the Music of "SKELETONS!" I believe he's right!
Skeleton is derived from the latin word for "Dried up".

TT is still weird! Much cooler and weirder than modern stuff.
