  • This was the one that did it for me - massive fan after hearing this - clearly the best song of 1983. I even had 3 earrings in my left ear and a false ponytail - my mum wouldn't let me shave my hair like Alannah!!!!! Aaahh the good old days!!!!!!

  • But who is watching watching the watchers?

  • But who is watching the watchers?

  • Love them! But hate this song haha

  • I always thought Alannah always looked like a female Martin Gore

  • @skintrade lol. yeah

  • A very tight loud sound

  • Saw them in Philadelphia, Pa. in 1984! Amazing show. the percussion was the best!

  • This was the one that did it for me - summer of '83 - best thing I'd heard in ages!! I love the Twins still - even when they became Babble!!

  • It's a great tune...one of my favourite TT songs!

    --

    Om Shanti!

  • You did alright out of though Roger...you and Boris got to join The Cure!

  • The TT were my introduction to synth pop which i still love to this day. I was also in the TT fan club!

  • For sure Tom is mega ripped behind those sunglasses lol

  • i always thought they said "go left go right" its look left!

  • Tom is so sexy. I've had a crush on him since I was 14 years old (in 1983.)

  • @MrZachman7 yes he is good looking, probably the only red head that is good looking

  • A little weird... but WAY COOL. I loved the 80's. Check out the bass player, he looks like a hangman!

  • I played my LP tonight and remembered this most excellent song. And searching on here found this. Fantastic stuff!

@binker1: Thanks for the upload and in such great quality too. And you’re right, the bass player is very good. The bass line makes the song (apart from the keyboards that is :).

  • This is an awful song...

  • I find this video and the song pure torture. I'm not surprised Tom Bailey is wearing shades; he doesn't want anyone to recognise him. His two pals are creepy.

  • i respect them so much for not reforming, and making new music and art., and Im a huuuuge TT/babble fan

  • Yes thats me in the back at the very beginning and also Boris Williams on drums. Andrew Bodnar on bass, an amazing player. This was a TV show called The Switch, it was my first TV appearance and also on the same show Sade. She was so excited she was crying and phoned her Mum. it was the Summer of 1983

  • @RogerODonnellTV YES! the switch...thanks for clarifying...i couldn't remember...hope it brought back some memories...

  • @RogerODonnellTV: Yes, I was stationed in England when this song came out. I've always liked the bass lines in this song. I'm a bass player, and to this day I have a hard time trying to copy Andrew's bass playing. I remember seeing these guys performing this song on a program in England called "The Tube" hosted by Jools Holland. The bass player was performing behind a large sheet and you could only see his silhouette while he played. I thought that was so cool.

  • Is it Roger O'Donnell back there?

  • @mtsn Yes thats me in the back at the very beginning and also Boris Williams on drums. Andrew Bodnar on bass, an amazing player. This was a TV show called The Switch, it was my first TV appearance and also on the same show Sade. She was so excited she was crying and phoned her Mum. it was the Summer of 1983

  • My favourite TT track, just off the wall. They don't write them like this anymore. Class.

  • Love the bass lines on this song!

  • I like your gloves.

  • Interesting that Joe in LA, Alannah in London and Tom who knows, won't reform yet have been interviewed together in the same room a few times over the past decade. Amazing!

  • Excellent quality!

  • Probably not their most famous song, but definitely my favourite, and one of their best (in my opinion). Thanks for posting.

  • One of their best songs! By the way, according to Homer Simpson, Xylophone's are the Music of "SKELETONS!" I believe he's right!

Skeleton is derived from the latin word for "Dried up".

  • In the background you'll see the (umbrella's) the full Tin Tin Effect.

  • In the cameo peformance Tom's Tin Tin Effect is revealed as the fundamental elements of the Thompson Twins, Some call this strange and weird but this was the surface of the comic adventures of the Thompson Twin Tin Tin.

  • Excellent stuff - Joe and Alannah are obviously having a great time! And nice to see two future members of The Cure in the backing band!

  • Towards the end we can clearly see that Joe Leeway invented the Vogue!

  • This is an incredible performance! WOW!

I love this song! I often wondered if it was a single.

TT is still weird! Much cooler and weirder than modern stuff.

    Thanks for posting!!!!

  • My GOD! I think of this song every time I cross the road!

  • LOL

  • i think of tufty...the road savvy squirrel

  • @binker1 Alannah does it better than Grace Jones on this track

  • Thank you for posting this !!!

It's my favourite song of Thompson Twins.

    COLOUR OF SPRING, from France.
