I've tried this, with many types of connections, with no avail. I get very dim IR LEDs. Any helps? I've tried a few combos, one usb, two usb, two usbs and 5 volt wall adapter, 12 volt wall adapter... Can't really get anything to work, and I'm currently broke, so no buying a wireless sensor bar...
@kapugen23 It is Its infared light point a camera at it and boon the sensor dosent sense but just gives off light u could have two candles, torches, infared LED's anything that gives off Infared light.
sry to tell you but you hurt the environment anyway by using electricity which is mainly made from burning coal, but anyways. thanks for the info. you did help. just wanted to tell you that little bit of info.
You are an absolute disgrace to humanity that needs to be killed with fire and holy water. that was a response to someone elses comment or are you just stupid? you fail
mother fuckin retard sensor bars connect to the wii dumbass and besides i use a wireless bar just batteries and turn on wtf is so bad about batteries and ur using fucking electricity
he ment he doesnt have a long enough cord on the sensor bar to reach the wii and he doesnt want to buy a wireless, or pay for the batteries... wait... why doesnt he just move the wii to the plug next to the sensor bar?
Glad to hear a couple of you have tried it yourself. Way to go. As mine's been moved around a lot, it's not always making a good connection anymore, but I just mess with it for a second and it's back to normal. To the person who asked, I read that the proper voltage is just over 7, but I used a 9 volt and these guys used different ones... As long as you don't blow up the LEDs, you're good... they can tolerate a lot.
I really works!!!! In 10 minutes I had my very own A/C adapted sensor bar! I used a 5V A/C adapter from my portable CD player, and then cut the end off. After soldering the 2 wire ends, I pushed them into the end of the sensor bar's plug, with some electrical tape in between. Using my digital camera as a guide, I wiggled the wires untill the IR lights came on, and then secured them with some more electrical tape. Thats all I had to do.
hey im thinking of buying a wii but i have a projector and i wasnt sure if it would work could you plz send me a message with the instructions and materials i need .
I pretty much gave all the instructions in this video. It's really that easy... There are two metal connections inside the sensor bar connector. You just have to make the wires from an AC adapter touch those connections. If you can't do it on your own, you shouldn't be trying - just buy the extension cable when it comes out.
Nice bit of info there as I too run a projector in my home cinema and really wanted to play my wii on it without cables everywhere, I'll be nocking one up later!
I agree that if somone cant follow those instructions/use a soldering iron then they should wait for an extension cable or get someone else to do it.

dudefaciz asked, "wtf is so bad about batteries"?
Well, for one thing, batteries have a tendency to run out just when you want to show off your Wii. Also, the wireless bars aren't free, this is.
