Since the untimely passing away of my dear brother Doug i find myself drawn more and more to this song and video, rest in peace my dear brother, and thank you Boz for this wonderful song.
he's even 'better' in person. EXCELLENT concerts. go to Mountain Winery in Saratoga,
unbelievable venue in the redwoods and a few thousand seats. not some huge concert in the bay area with zillions of people and cars everywhere. you will not forget the experience.
There are many sierras all over the world and all are equally as beautiful. I have been there as a helicopter pilot. When I first heard Boz' words all emotions flew into my heart and soul. Of the ones I loved and lost. I finally found it on My Time: A Boz Scaggs Anthology (1969-1997). It was like finding myself, my mantra, of the one(s) who live in my heart. I play it over and over until all is calm on my Sierra in New Mexico where I love those who loved me and she lets those who care in.
two beauties, lake tahoe (the sierras) and boz scaggs.. yep, silk degrees is one of my all time favorite albums. so many memories. that's the beauty of music.
I know from experience Boz sings the truth. Don't fall in love with a high Sierra man ladies, unless you want to be second best....you'll never compare to her peaks!!
Boz still has it. Too bad we cannot console him in the loss of his son as well as he consoles us with his songs.
have to admit, i love this guy for what he has added to my life, comfort in the storm, fun songs when Im happy, and a Nobel prize winning song right here.
@fluffythecat2 Boz is getting older and he deserves the best credit for his songs and his music! I love this guys : voice , lyrics and music. God Bless him!!!
two fingrs of scotch? Pwee he. lol How abot a shot of panco Villa Tequila and a Coors Light. Ok I m a red neck. But I know where your soul is coming from and God Bless ya. Us old dogs aren t understood like we use to be. I piss alot of people off here. lol So damn opinionated. But you have to admit, a bunch of asses that don t get it. Just listen to this song. Hold her close, sway and remember. Gettin closer to heaven so I m gonna pour another shot, pull the top and say God belss.
That's two-ringers vertical, not, horizontal!! You got it about there my friend, as one great jazzman once said, 'if you gotta ask what soul is, you ain't got it.'
LOL Thanks for the reply. Also like a biker was asked why he rode. " I f you hvae to ask why, you d don t get it. " After about 6 shots of Pancho I can t spell.
This is a beautiful, haunting song. He pulls at my heartstrings. I love Lake Tahoe in The Sierras of Calif. and Nevada. This song brings me there...almost.
Does this not want you to drift away and dream your dreams! So hypnotic! O.K. quite old but the tune and the words are so much nicer than todays music. Hope sumone agrees with me, but if not I dont cvare as I know gd music when I hear it!!!!
My name is Simone. I live in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. I al HIV positive but I would still like to know if any man or woman would still consider fucking me. This is one of my favorite Boz Skaggs songs. He has such a soulful and melodic voice that puts warmth and emotion into his music. He is truly a legend, and musicians like this are very rare.
this is the most haunting beautiful song i have heard for so long. It takes you away to peaceful lands, not like here, now. After searching, I should have known it was Boz Scaggs. Happier days the 80's.

You obviously care a great deal about this song. What a great song it is. This is a wonderful visual tribute to such a fine piece of music, good onya. For some, the music creates a sense in time, and place. May there always be music that gives us goosepimples! One can only wonder at where and from what beginning it strikes at our innermost chords (no soppyness intended). Onya.
Yes, JonathanG, one can indeed only wonder at where and from what beginning some music strikes at our innermost chords, while other music can make one feel agitated and uncomfortable. This is such a gorgeous song, but I cannot, for example, listen to James Blunt without wanting to scream. I wish someone had the answer to this interesting question.
I visit their annually and have been over quite a lot of it. I remember it from high school days in the late 1950's. Somewhat better now.
