  • Im going to bring lots of cameras to thailand and actually make a documentary about this "ghost" and make tons of money if it really exist which I hardly believe. Im so tired of my girlfriend who believes in this crap so I want to show her that there are nothing to be affraid of. IF such creatures would exist, how come no sientific reports or documentary had been made? there are only rumors and sayings about this as we also had about whitches and stuff for about 400 years ago...

  • How's the doco going? I'm really interested in this stuff too, though I'm a skeptic. I have a degree in cultural anthropology so if you want an opinion on how these things develop within a particular culture I'll be happy to help.

  • ofcourse you are skeptic, you probably read books and has lots of knowledge about biology and then you know that these things cant exist, not physicaly or in a biologic sense. its time to wake up people!

  • Actually, that's only partly true. I don't read that many books cos I'm a bit lazy. I also can't say for sure these things can exist or not. You're right about the biology though, from a biological point of view, they cannot exist. But I am an open-minded skeptic so I'm prepared to admit that things probably do exist that I have no explanation for.

However, is there such a thing as a floating head with guts trailing behind it? I doubt it very much! It's a cool idea though.

  • OMG..I remembered watching this with my sisters when we were young..It scared the shit out of us and my mum and grandma used to say it would come after us if we peed on our beds...hahahahaha

  • I saw this creature once. It scares the hell out of me. I can see its inards glowing in the dark.

  • Thank everyone for sharing many very good information.

  • Can u please upload this movie

  • There is no English name for it, I think. We Thai people call this kind of ghost 'Krasue', and I doubt there is the same one in other cultures.

  • It has appeared in a couple books about Malay culture in English. In Malaysia it is called the Penanggalan. A couple of stories on how she lost her head are in the book Malay Magic. If you could provide more background behind the Thai version it would be greatly appreciated.

  • Thank you for sharing knowledge. I haven't heard before that this kind of ghost also exists in Malay culture.

  • According to Thai legends, a woman becomes Krasue because, in her previous life, she ate food which people had intentionally prepared for Buddhist monks. If you watched this Thai lakorn you'll see that the leading actress who became Krasue had committed this sin before.

  • In addition, being Krasue is like an infectious disease: it can be transferred to other women, or even men. When a Krasue woman is too old or going to die, she will asks another woman, in most cases her daughter or niece, to eat her saliva. Then that woman will continue the Krasue line.

  • Krasue may choose a male heir as well. If it is a man, it is called 'Krahang', and it doesn't look like Krasue in some ways. For example, its body and head are not apart when it goes out to hunt, and it has two winnowing baskets for its wings.

  • I remember watching this in thailand in the late 90s. This scarred the crap out of me. How many seasons was it?

  • this shits so scary! looks so real!
