@gregsyn Every song was co-written by The Rev except So Far Away. Jimmy was part of the lyrical process. However, the band changed a few lyrics after his death to reflect the emotion and vibe better. So technically, so song perse was written for the Rev. So Far Away was written by Synyster Gates from his grandfather but dedicated it later on to The Rev. But no song was written specifically for him. ;)

The Rev was just so original he made all of his drumming look so effortlessly. He is my favorite drummer and in my eyes the best drummer and no not because this is my favorite band but because its true. He played the drums live for an hour and thirty minutes hitting every note on point not any human being could do that, hes a legend and will always be in our hearts and ears! Love you Rev!

@sharpndagger you are either a terrible drummer or have lied in one or more parts of that comment. Type "rev drum kit" into google images. One of the first images you will see is Jason Berry standing behind the revs drum kit, you will also see no pedal on the right most kick drum as it was the original kick that came with the kit, and he kept it just to keep the drum kit even. PS Drummers do not use 3 kicks to make a "good sound" or make is sound faster, if anything it would be slower. Logic'd

@sammyboi1453 well when i bought it it came with 3 bass drums and a pedal to each bass. on the right side pedal there is 2 pedals put together and on the left there is 1. maybe its not the exact kit all i know is that they are the same drums and cymbals and size all around. so if he didnt use all 3 then he didnt and i know other drummers that do do all 3 as well.

I'm a big fan of Jimmy I'm also a big fan of Mike and I'm a drummer for 10 years, and if you heard the album version and thought it was Jimmy and demo versions is mike's cover You'd think this version worse, only once you know that Jimi play here you think its better.. I just assume that Jimmy would have changed the demo, not sure if in the same direction mike took it but dis version is missing a lot.. I wish I could know how version with Jimmy will turn out

@jibmaster1296 Erm... yes. Or perhaps not. The drums are essentially identical, just that Portnoy tidied them up. There are a few guitar flourishes that sadly didn't make it through to the album but for the most part the album version is far superior. Each to their own and everything and I'm sure that had he still been around, Jimmy would have added something bonkers into it that would have been more inventive than what's here. For the most part, however, my money stays with the album version.
