As a back line bassist I love the band to sit as it gives me a clear view of the floor should anything be thrown. Dave Moorwood plays great solid rhythm guitar as well as banjo, and what a repertoire of the obscure!!!!! Nice band! More closeups. I would like to see nore hair. Thanks. 5 stars.
Really good piece John and well driven by the two lead cornets, an unusual combination but great Creole and no stupid stuff going on, which so often kills this piece.. I love it.
Great stuff! Love the two-cornet front line a la King Oliver; Wonderful breaks! The cornetist on the right has a really weird finger position, not that it affects the music at all (I'm a trumpet player so I noticed).
Thank you for that. I've been playing Hot Jazz since the 70's. Ken Sims had hit records with Acker Bilk's band in the '50s and Mike Pointon worked with George Lewis, Cap'n John Handy, Alton Purnell and Albert Nicholas. Like all good music it is hard going in the UK as the media are not interested.

Hear's one you don't hear that often. John has gathered a bunch of excellent trad players for this festival.

Never seen Mike Pointon sitting down playing before, and without a beard as well.
Really great track. Pity the video man wasn't very good. It would have been nice to see Martin Litton on his piano break??

Definitely gets my full stamp of approval, for what its worth! Everyone's doing it right!
Great to see my old mates Ken Sims and Mike Pointon in the same line-up! Five stars!

I asked John Petters about this via an email, and he told me that Chez is playing left-handed. Unusual, eh?

Sorry to disagree but I don't like it.

I think this is cool. Brits doing Orleans style jazz. It seems to be more popular in England than in the USA.
