pretty good except for the sax player. I dunno if he was doing that on purpose to acheive some special sound, but the squeaks sound more like a middle schooler learning his notes.
@AnnieYouWalkTooFast I do listen to jazz. And from your response, I guess he was doing it on purpose. It's not just the squeaks, its the overall sound quality of his playing I don't like. But since you all like it, I guess there's something I'm just not getting from it. Oh well just not my cup of tea.
I'd love to know when and where this was recorded and who was in the band at that time.

Maybe they are when they aren't intentional. Here, they're intentional. I like squeeks with my notes, it's all sound.

I can't believe that decades after Coltrane, etc., people are still thinking that squeaks are mistakes, LOL.

I agree, the saxophonist just sounds like a beginner, whether he practices a lot or not...

@Gennatural there's a reason it's called experimental

@munruthel1 experimental or not, its no excuse that he sounds like a beginner. And I actually dont see what's so experimental about it.
I like it though :)

@SubMetal1000
1. This is EXPERIMENTAL jazz. Squeaks = experimental noise.
2. Do you listen to any other jazz? The squeaks are quite common, and they are often intentional.
3. These jazz musicians practice for hours and hours every day all day, and they get ONE take in the studio.
Think before criticizing. If it's not your style, that's cool, but don't say anything if you don't know what you're talking about.
