  • Works very very well at close range without an external speaker. but if you need range you'll need some kind of speaker.

  • @norseleague The external speaker is easier to diguise & I've found that when out for Crows they are either in the area & visable or no where to be seen so If I don't see any Crows within a short while I don't bother to try to attract them.

  • Hi again gunvidder..If you meant did i have an external speaker for the Cass Creek caller then the answer is no.To be honest the calls on the Cass Creek call were so dissapointing i did'nt want to waste anymore money than i had already spent. The Cass Creek caller calls are more geared up for the American crows not the European.I found it very very dissapointing.

  • @JODIMAR45 The external speaker does make it sound better. Sadly the difference between Crows from different countries makes a difference. I've not gone out with the shotgun much this winter & so far all Crow shooting has been with a rifle & not been useing a call at all so far. Hopeing for a good session or more soon though with the calls & shotgun before the spring.

  • @gunvidder I don't use shotguns at all i use my FAC rated airgun along with my HW 100 Sport 12ft lbs arguns on the corvids either using a decoy little owl with a dead crow/rook fleft near to it or some flock coated decoys both methods work a treat when hidden out of view in a pop up blind.Just out of curiosity it must cost you an absolute fortune judging by how many shooting items you review?

  • @JODIMAR45 A lot of it has been collected over the years & I've allways done comparisons to find what's best for me, this is an extention of what I've allways done. Cost a fortune ? I quickly sell on anything I don't like to get some of my money back.

  • Yes i have the external speaker with it..To be honest without it i don't think the Ucaller sound is loud enough.I have as i say used it with an external speaker and believe me it draws crows and magpies in from very long distances especially if you are well hidden when using it.I even bought an extension lead to put between the speaker and the unit and although you loose a little volume it is neglible.

  • I bought 1 of those a while ago but found it not much good at all but the Ucaller i bought is a different story!!

  • @JODIMAR45 Did you have the external speaker with it ? I would like to do a comparison but the Crows are not on the farm in large numbers at the moment.

  • Where can you order this ? Who knows what type of Internet site ? Thank you very much. Great thing.

  • @jaypreacher Just Google Cass creek crow call.

  • Thanks for the info, purchasing one online now that i've seen yer post. well done.

  • I would save the money from the calls, buy just the loudspeakers and a cheap mp3 player, then use the mp3 player to download calls, much cheaper, and infinitely customizable to fit your needs. downloads available from places like western-rivers(dot)com/downloads(dot)html.

  • I've heard of doing this quite a few times.

Sounds like a verry good idea.

  • @gunvidder have you tried that call out yet? does it lure them in? is it loud enough?

    thanks for the video!

  • Must of spent a damn foutune so far, really is a good test for those who are unshure what to buy.And for that you have to be comended matey.

  • Yeah, you can say what you want, but he sure is thorough in his comparison tests! Even though this is a subject that is less interesting to me, I really applaud that kind of thoroughness!

  • Thanks.

This call will be used to "learn" to use what I think are good mouth calls.

  • @gunvidder so how does it work?

  • Basic idea is to call out to attract Crows by makeing them think there's something of interest for them

  • @gunvidder Sorry I should of been more specific, what I meant to say was does it actually work in the sense that crows come in? Do they ever get in close enough to get em with the shotgun?

    Thanks

  • In the UK the can only be used to call Crows for observation or photraphy.

    Legaly

Every time I've been out recently with a mouth call there hasn't been any Crows about to call in.

For that reason I'm leaveing it untill the Crows return to the farm.
