Yes, I agree, unfortunately the ambient mikes that were supposed to pick up the total choir did not function correctly, which caused the unbalanced recording.

I might not have miced the soloist...nearly drowns out the rest of the choir. Yes, you want to hear her over the choir, but not drown them out.
