I listen to this more then 30 time's a day, I don't like to sing at all that's not even my style. But I do sing this :D; I even something's sing it in the same voice pitch. Although the mantra is popularly written in Wylie as Om Mani Padme Hum, it's correctly pronounced, Om Mani(Maani) Peme(Pay-may) Hung(Hoong).

Rigpa7, isn't that the Tibetan pronunciation? Deva Premal is chanting Sanskrit pronunciation in this video. I read on dharma haven "The mantra originated in India; as it moved from India into Tibet, the pronunciation changed because some of the sounds in the Indian Sanskrit language were hard for Tibetans to pronounce. "

I'm sorry I can't appreciate this so much. I prefer mantras without the popmusic stuff around -guitars, percussions and so on. Their own sounds should be quite self-sufficient, shouldn't they?

OM MANI PADME HUM. THE MYSTIC LAW IS THE LOTUS SUTRA. This is the true interpretation. The most powerfull of mantras, written on tibetan prayer flags and hung out in the wind, whatever beings are touched by the wind that has passed across the mantra are highly blessed and will attain enlightenment. It is said that the whole Lotus Sutra is in this one mantra.

Though it doesn't have a literal translation to English, the closest interpretation is "OM The Jewel in the Lotus Hum."  Om and Hum (Hung, Hun) are simply sounds with no translation. Many Buddhist teachers will say the entire teaching of the Buddha Shakymuni is encased in the 6 sounds. But that description is too long for this format.

I know this thing 'Om Mani Padme Hum' is professionally thing and used in all over the world for calm your passions..^^...It can be used for relaxing... but same for relaxing u can do with 'Gayteri Mantra jab' or 'Om Namah shiva' which is better then this thingi...if u dont know abt these Mantra's...then search on google u can find it
