i did exactly the same draw and it took me at least 3 hours to finish it.

that was good and i like your dark and light contrast but that drawing could never take you 30 minutes...all the darkness takes ages to color in layer after layer...good but it musy have took longer

but what have learned is a nuetral color for the base and then cloring over it gives it that deep dark tone wich makes it way faster

ya i know but since i have a broken leg i have an amazing amount of time to draw im also going to upload 3 of my drawings 1 from my 1st the marilyn monroe drawing from my 2nd week and this weeks hiro nakamura from hero's the t.v. show

@istand4fun I definitely believe that took roughly 30-40 minutes. I do large scale charcoals of old hollywood celebrities and when I count up the amount of total time spent to finish one 20 x 18 piece... it adds up to around 45 minutes - 2 hours (tops... and that was an exceptionally detailed and shaded piece.)
