@5cifi What one do u like best. A police officer let me flick the Autolock out once, and i've got to say i don't like it as it feels badly built. The shafts shake around like hell but it does feel hard and like it would be difficult to bend. I've never handled the ASP or PR24 though (as much as i'd like to :(
@TRASHoftheTITANS - I don't think its a case of which I like the best. Yes, the sections do shake a little, but this helps with retention as you can maneuverer the baton if someone has a good grip on it. There are very well built and have the appearance of being so. the PR24 is again a lovely baton, very good at what it does. So many ways to use one. The ASP is my least favorite I had to ay, but again it's also a very good baton. Just a shame on has to bend down in order to close it.
@TRASHoftheTITANS It's not quite like that. The "bits" of the baton can't come out the other end if it failed to engage. Both the Autolock & the PR24 are very well put together pieces of equipment. You'd be hard pushed to find one that is faulty. Sorry - for some reason it says you're comment was delated but I ain't touched it. Valid comment I though
ones standard issue BTP, another is formerly thames valley, what the third one for? its not met.... not the owner of the vid is either old bill from 3 different forces or just an officer who likes a selection in life. Or worst case scenario just a scrote who beats on old bill and steals their batons.... hmmm lol
All three of these batons are standard police issue for UK police forces and is illegal to possess these unless you are an on duty police officer. These are offensive weapons as they are made or can be adapted to cause physical injury to the person of another. Also in 2004 in became illegal to own, sell or let on hire any straight, side handled or friction lock truncheon. Do not buy this item and you should not be selling it!!!
@5cifi In my Province (Ontario) it's legal to posses a baton as long as it's not concealed, used in a threatening manner or used for the purposes of any criminal activity. They are not a prohibited weapon as long as they are not the automatic type or the spring flexible type. But lets face it, I don't think I would like to walk the streets with a big ol PR-24 hanging off my belt, your just asking trouble to find YOU.
I'd advise the selling of batons and samurai swords in the Uk. Your government is oppressing your rights, it would be ignorant and foolish not to prepare.
I dont think it is appropriate for you to advise people in the country where i live to arm themselves with weapons which are illegal and could cause serious injury or death. its different in the US because in some states its legal to own a baton but here it is not. I think you should get respect for other countries laws and seriously think about what you are preaching about.
Its quite appropriate for a fellow student of democracy to advise his neighbors to prepare to stand up for their individual rights. of course though, its highly unlikely englishmen would stand up and challenge the new law. Good luck mate.
First of all saying that you are a student of democracy implies that you are still learning and therefore do not fully understand the concept of democracy. Also in the uk citizens have their rights guaranteed by Human Rights Act 1998. I personally feel no need to challenge any law as the law making process ensures that all laws are necessary to maintain law and order and to protect people and their property.
I assume that everytime you use englishmen that it is intended as an insult but it is an example of your ignorence for cultures as the uk is made up of Northern Ireland, Wales, England and Scotland either one i could live in. Finally my last and final questions to you, what is the purpose of law and could you imagine a world without law and therefore no police and no courts?
Actually No. Most Englishmen I met have balls. And A world without law wouldn't function and therefore wouldn't be a world, but those that sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither. Good luck with things mate.
The Criminal Justice Act 1988 (Offensive Weapons) (Amendment) Order 2004
any person who manufactures, sells or hires or offers for sale or hire, exposes or has in his possession for the purpose of sale or hire, or lends or gives to any other person, a weapon to which that section applies shall be guilty of an offence. The importation of any such weapon is prohibited.
Criminal Law (Consolidation) (Scotland) Act 1995 section 47 (4) "offensive weapon means any article made or adapted for use for causing injury to the person, or intended by the person having it with him for such use by him. I think you'll find that a baton is made for the purpose of causing injury.
This Order adds the weapons the stealth knife and straight, side-handled or friction-lock truncheons, to the list of specified weapons contained within. I think you should get your facts right, and get a little legal knowledge before you reply to any of my comments.
Peoples ignorance amazes me sometimes, it is illegal in the UK because,
The Criminal Justice Act 1988 (Offensive Weapons) Orders 1988,
2002 and 2004 prohibit the possession and importation of:
Knuckledusters, swordsticks, belt buckle knife, telescopic truncheon,
straight, side handle or friction lock truncheon. And because of Scotlands fantastic legal system, you would be guilty as long as it was still in the country as the crime would be time immemorial.
I think that you should act more mature, you are apparently 20 years old. I think that swearing at someone that proved you wrong is the lowest of the low. I may have called you ignorant but i spoke the truth, if you didnt like what i said or done then contruct some sort of decent reply which portrays some sort of intelligence.
I have already mentioned the relevant legislation, go check it out. Next you'll being saying its legal to possess CS spray and a taser. The police officer was probably pulling your leg or he/she is not a very good police officer.

umm first off was uour asp missing the tip?
and i have heard that the autolock sections rotate freely is that true?
silentknight2112 1 year ago
@silentknight2112 Yes the Autolock sections do rotate freely, this is to aid retention of the baton.
The tip of the ASP is there but the camera simply doesn't pick it up for some reason.

NO - In 2004 it became illegal to supply or give away, not own. Get your facts right.

"or has in his possession for the purpose of sale or hire" not "has in his possession", you can own, but not sell, give away, buy or make.
