  • powah ranger!! XD

  • I don't understand why everyone is dissing the art.. It doesn't need to be effective in a fight, people just do it because they like it and their stunts look awesome anyway! I like XMA!!!

  • shh hey if you shut up for a second you can hear musashi rolling over in his grave

  • of course he's asian...

  • I do wushu...and i am insulted my XMA....people who did XMAS were put into the same category as me and some fellow wushu practioners, and we were more than pissed!!

one XMA guy MOONWALKED onto the competition mats dressed as michael jackson, and danced in time (barely) to music.....this is NOT martial arts!!! Also their staffs are plastic.

Try training in shaolin like i have done where u use REAL weapons made of wood or steal...

  • Dear Universe, XMA is 4 years old now...and, it is interesting. But, XMA is NOT accepted in the Martial Art(s) community as a real Martial Art, nor as a real School of Martial Art. Trying to "combine" other real Martial Art(s) into a "new" Martial Art, is basically stealing and/or lying, at minimum. There is good to XMA always, much good, such as studying/training in real Martial Art(s), but, some moves of XMA are actually ineffective/harmful. Love always, GrandMasterRobert Michael Crofoot, GOD

  • Thanks for coming to Vegas Mike!!!!!

  • Taylor Lautner: 1:05 before he was a werewolf, he was a XMA

  • THE XMA WORLD HEADQUARTERS IS A JOKE! I'VE BEEN TRAINING HERE FOR 3 MONTHS NOW AND THE SCHOOL IS NOTHING LIKE THIS. MIKE CHAT NEVER TEACHES CLASSES AND THE HEAD INSTRUCTOR IS SOME INEXPERIENCED 20 YEAR OLD NO ONE HAS EVER HEARD OF. THE TECHNIQUES ARE FLASHY & COMPLICATED AND NEW STUDENTS ARE PRACTICALLY IGNORED. YOU'LL GET BETTER INSTRUCTION AT THE YMCA!

  • backing alex lococo... bjj really isnt all that. jap jj i believe is better, in the fact that it takes longer to get black, theres alot more to learn, bjj is jap jj reduced to the wrestling aspects. it takes alot more than a comora to stop a skilled fighter.

  • i thought the basis of "martial arts" is self defense.... there pretty much just teaching them to be fake fighters... actors, stuntmen.... ive taken judo and, shorin-ryu my whole life, and i will see to it that my child takes an effective, life saving art form like there father did, i will never train my kid to be a faker. granted its, cool, flashy, and im sure effective in its own light, but when it all boils down when i knife is pulled on you, its all about what you know and how you use it

  • /watch?v=L55ePpSy4XU real hard xma....subscribe if u like it

  • Omg it's the blue power ranger from lighted rescue and not to mention Ernie Reyes from tmnt 2, the blue ranger dude was also the one who got Taylor launtner into xma after karate

  • It's really cool and all, but I'd like to see them do all that stuff without trampolenes. and spring floors.

  • XMA is not about being a martial art, is about performance, and that's their aim, everyone that practice XMA knows it, it's not about self-defence or combat sport, they don't want them.

XMA is called "martial" because it is inspired by martial arts like TKD, Karate, and even Shaolin Kung fu.

You all are like the fucking troll in every Martial Art video "LOL BJJ is better", it just doesn't makes sense to compare it to other styles.

  • not gunna lie buh this is type bull shyt

    it jus performace-_____-

  • fuck this shit

  • I like it but I like the original arts the best. These are too flashy.

  • why don't people realize this is a performance art

  • XGymnastics I will say

  • the point of xma is just a fun way to get in shape and just burn pounds off of yur body with out having to buy all those workout tapes and having one on one support

  • Sugoi!

  • I really don't want to offend anyone, but calling this thing "martial arts" is a bit of an offense to the other martial art practitioners. If I want to be able to defend myself, or ultimately to avoid violence, I'd join a real, traditional, focused martial art class. If I want to look cool, I'd start tricking or parkour.

  • Really want to do XMA!! Are there any schools in VA??

  • Looks nice but I doubt it would work in the ring or on the street.

  • Mike Chat: The XMA teacher of Taylor Lautner and Boo Boo Stewart...the two hottest guys in the Twilight Wolfpack<3

  • ATA and XMA they really use martial arts as an art i think i would love doing what i see in movies because its bad ass even if its not self defence its still very helpful because no one is going to take on any one knowing that person is doing doing XMA

all in all its awesome and i my self am looking to sigh up for it

  • 3:04 Blondy dun goofed.

  • I wish we have this here in Brazil. Guess Im going to LA :)

  • @thelecks100 You have access to some of the best Capoeira schools in the world..stay in Brazil. Haha.

  • @Tneisnart On the other hand, there are traditional martial arts like Aikido, Hapkido, and Muay thai that can be kill in a few short moves when properly applied. Its not so much martial arts are useless rather that most people don't have the proper mind. Its very easy to do katas in the dojo but on the street, if you dont have the proper mind, you basically forget everything and freeze up. Martial arts teach you how to kill the quickest but its your mind that does the killing.

  • looks awsome these are the future stun men/women of your next favoret movies better give some repsect in that and remember its an art made up of acrobats and gymnastics not actual martial arts athough in order to make thier stuff look beliveable i bet you they all know a good chunk of martial arts enough to woop my ass

  • I think it's really cool idea, but it needs to be clear to everyone involed with your training that its just for showmenship not for self defence. It sounds like you do make it clear to us the veiwers. But what about your students? The truth is everyone wants to know the fancy stuff but you need to learn the basics as well. What happens if one of your kids has to defened themself? I think what your doing is awesome but you should set aside an hour or two for real training.

  • This shit wouldnt save anyone in real situations. Disgrace to MARTIAL arts. at least name it something different ffs

  • @gonefishingstudios traditional martial arts wouldnt save anyone in real situations and this is coming from a traditional martial artist. i do however have respect for both traditional and extreme martial arts and as a blackbelt i would never talk down on another style (especially without being trained in it). I think the speaker made it clear that this is for performance purposes anyways not fot real life self defense. however to be able to use this style u have to know some form of karate.

  • @MsNinja101 On the other hand, there are traditional martial arts like Aikido, Hapkido, and Muay thai that can be kill in a few short moves when properly applied. • @MsNinja101 so traditional martial arts wouldn't save anyone? so I guess the japanese who used it to kill on a daily basis back in 1692 didn't know what they were doing and imagined it all? the word tradition only means that we are training in the fighting disciplines that the okinawans and japanese trained in, it doesn't mean its old fashioned or out dated, fighting is fighting. what it boils down to is do you have the will to fight or not, if not it doesn't matter how much MA you know.

  • To be honest they have no business associating this with a martial arts. It's merely acrobatics with props...

  • @sbowesuk It's fun :)

  • @thelecks100 Sure it'll be fun, but it's not a true martial art, period :)

  • this is more like for movies... just saying

  • Im not sure what to think of this.

Seems like a circus more than anything.

But hey, if thats what people need to get their lazy asses up and training, thats cool.

  • Hate the ghetto feel :)

  • dont get me wrong! I think these people are really skilled and very athletic and have amazing abilites. and if they do MMA or spend some time training how to apply these skills thats even cooler, all i mean is that this sort of thing alone isn't really what i would call a martial art

  • does anyone know what that sweet twist was at t=2m50s ??

  • any schools in maui hawaii?

  • ok so first off the skill it takes to do this is very high and it is just another side of martial arts not many people who do this claim to be amazing fighters and the people who do most likely have a background in a more traditional self defense style. this is just more of a sport.

  • 1:35 how do you do it? join a karate and gymnastics class

  • @Mosley2 lol i do both

  • last time i saw ernie reyes jr was on ninja turtles and surf ninjas. lol

  • its the asian mario lopez!! lmaooo

  • this video looks extreme... extreme FAGGOTRY

  • @thenfm and youd know all about that subject wouldnt ya

  • wtf im 16 and i can do most of the things in this video but ive never been in any martial arts school, all self taught....is that normal???

  • @sk8boardn101 r u lookin for sumone to kiss ur ass? well done on teaching urself but ur not abnormal

  • @charliehustlenflow i just think its strange

  • @sk8boardn101

i doubt u can do fulltwists and advanced tricks self taught..

  • @sk8boardn101 ya i just seen your videos you dont have anything close to the physique to do any of this. You can barely ollie a foot off the ground and your balance is moderate if that. You can make vids of other garbage. Im calling your bs make a video of you doing all this or props on trying to lie

  • @madeintheusaclan i havent filmed anything i can do, and not sure how you know wich person is me in the video. and all those vids are years old soo.

  • Yeah, I wouldn't be up for this, it is extreme acrobatics. Very american, bleached of all ethnicity and culture, geared toward pop entertainment. It is a place to go and have fun.

Although, I imagine it would be good for cardio.

  • yes that is extreme, but martial arts,I DONT THINK SO...martial arts is about diciplina and strength not only physical but also mental is a mixture of features that make you not only to strong physical but also mental and spiritually...they only give jumping and kicking, but insurance do not know what it takes to be martial artist...now people just looking for the easy, and martial arts is about sacrifice you for what you want with dicipline and training....

  • Fap Fap Fap Fap Fap!

  • @Yotashi eww, you gay

  • @TheGogitta hahaha RILEY!?!?!?!?!

  • @Yotashi i guess lol

  • um if its all buisness y is there a little kid just boucing on his stomach?

  • haha i love XMA cant wait im joining their gym in NC woot woot!

  • well at least they r honest about fact they dont teach any self defense/form work. i agree that its a shame people are losing sight of the disciplin, determination, commitment, and effectiveness in favour of fancy flips and flashy moves. The day one of these kids gets mugged in the street they will kick themselves for not learning self defense. It sould be called something else, the word "martial" means fighter/warrior, whuch these people are obv not.

  • @sammiedodgers

they'll only be in danger if they get mugged by someone who knows martial arts,

trickers are naturally better at fighting comapred to muggles aka non trickers.

  • @sammiedodgers i dont know why ppl are thumbs upping this sounds dumb to me. discipline n shit man u act like u dont have to have discipline to become an athlete just cos ur not fighting. its about learning how to use your body and seeing what the limits of what the body can do. u make it sound like doing a move that looks cool is selling out n that its just about showing off. i dont get mugged ive never learned self defense ill stick kick a muggers ass for tryna stick it on me.

  • @sammiedodgers Listen buddy,

I am a school owner and I teach this stuff, along with traditional sparring and self defense, etc. most schools still teach the traditional stuff and XMA is additional. but just so ignorant people like you know... the athleticism that it takes to do this stuff, the conditioning, the shape these kids are in, they can absolutely handle themselves in a physical confrontation! they are in twice the physical shape of a kid who only does the traditional stuff! quit hatin!

  • @litoshibainu im not hating at all it in fact i really appreciate and am amazed by the skill and the athletic ability that it takes. but all im saying is that its very far away from the roots of everything that makes a martial art what it is. an athlete of any sport is generally in good shape but being in good shape doesnt always mean you know what to do in a situation where someone has a knife and they grab you from behind.

  • @litoshibainu but thanks for your reply. i didn't mean any offence or negative towards anyone who does or teaches XMA as i have huge respect for the skills involved.

  • @sammiedodgers doesnt matter they still learn enough and alot of these kids do this little thing called MMA where they learn multiple styles. You mustve been living under a rock.

  • @sammiedodgers

No, "martial" is not a noun and is more suitably defined as meaning "war".

And here in modern society where we have grenades, guns, and atomic weapons Martial Arts (the non-fancy kind) hardly deserves martial in its title either. Also, I'm sure what they're doing takes tons of "discipline, determination, commitment, and effectiveness."

  • @sammiedodgers Who says they don't teach both at the same time? And I think most would agree it's much more challenging and difficult to combine acrobatics and martial arts than it is to just train regular, generic MA.

  • @jrk987 yeah i can see you make a good point. thanks!

  • @sammiedodgers Youtube -

They Sold Their Souls For Rock And Roll

  • @sammiedodgers

Well, in all fairness, the gymnastics they show, it does take determination and discipline to learn.

I agree in the "Martial" being grossly misleading, but I think they kept it to make their belts seem more legit. What is the fun in starting training XMA with your brand new black belt, if no one thinks you can "kick as"? ;-)

I have a feeling they have just that one color and that the beginners uniform comes with one. It does match in color - and looks are important! :-)

  • @sammiedodgers I agree most of the truly effective techniques are very subtle and sometimes ugly looking but always effective. This video is really just a new form of gymnastics. I agree these people are not true martial artists.

  • @sammiedodgers lol

These guys don't just randomly get a black belt. Its a supplemental program for some martial arts schools. So they still retain every value that you would expect from a martial artist. So it's not like kids just come in and just learn tricks ONLY. They train at schools of their own.

  • @sammiedodgers But at least they are staying active and not just playing Street Fighter and Tekken.

  • @sammiedodgers But at least they are staying active and not just playing Street Fighter and Tekken. They still show confidence, physical ability, and a healthy activity.

  • @sammiedodgers The word "Martial" actually means military. These people are all traditional martial artist first and then learn the flips and acrobatics to incorporate. I promise you they are able to defend themselves. Besides the #1 goal in Martial Arts is to avoid conflict in the first place. That is why they instill the leadership life skills they do.

  • @aacwood1 I do more or less agree with you. However XMA is more of a performing art then an actuall martial art. Im not saying it isn't one but its just that focuses more on style and flashier movements then actual form. I have been trained in karate and kung fu(but for kung fu only about a monht or 2) and currently in Tae kwon do and XMA appears to be extremely different than anything else. But I could be wrong.

  • @lightangelken1 I think Tae Kwon Do is very similar to XMA. Tae Kwon Do is almost middle ground between stuff you'd use in a real fight and being fancy and looking cool, like XMA. Speed and kicking, am I right? XMA seems to draw alot from it. It's pretty similar. If I wanted to move on to XMA, I'd learn TKD as a base martial art, for flexibility and speed. (XMA is fun to watch. (and do!) ...But some of it is just TOO fast, IMO. Like the bo staffs. Ridiculous. I prefer a big, heavy staff ;P)

  • @LordThranduil234 True. but as far as i kno traditional TKD was not intended to look cool and flashy. TKD was actually used in Korean millitary. But then they made sports TKD.

  • @sammiedodgers disciplne? commitment? are you serious? have you ever tried to learn a 540 roundhouse? martial arts? of course it is. any one of these students could maim or kill using the physical prowess that they gain. i feel that this is a vast improvement over "self defense" courses taught all over the country. If they wanted to learn effective fighting, they should be in MMA.Why not just let them enjoy their acheivement without critiscm of their art

  • @sammiedodgers well, you don't evern learn real self defence even in muay thai, you have to practice a martial art for self defence not one for combat sport.

XMA is in no way neither, but i don't think they want to kick ass in the street, but rather simply do tricks, because, you know, it's fun as hell (and painfull, you know, when you don't perform it correctly).

The "martial arts" is because they're influenced by them, not because they are really martial arts

  • @sammiedodgers Parkour is a martial art although it lacks in self-defense. And, if you ask anyone who does martial arts tricking like this they will agree when I tell you that you have to be very well associated with martial arts to be able to do this. If you look closely you can see that a lot of their moves would actually be pretty useful in a fight, if they used them appropriately.

  • @sammiedodgers Hi I know this comment is old but I just wanted to say a couple things. They don't show it much in here, but in the XMA classes they do do punches, kicks, blocks (which is for self defense), ect. The base of XMA is from martial arts. So you actually can learn to fight fairly good. They even tested Mike Chat's front kick and it had the force of a car crash. 1,800 pounds of force. The base is martial arts, but yes it is alot of flashy stuff too cause it's made so you can do the-

  • @sammiedodgers things and learn the things that alot of kids and people want to be able to do, that they see in action movies.

  • @sammiedodgers i spent over six years to get my black belt 2nd degree learnin traaditional forms and these people dont thts bs thts a pussy school

  • @sammiedodgers I do think these guys would kick my trash if I tried to mug them. I know that's not saying much, and they might now be the same material as the real Martial Arts monks and sensais, but I wouldn't say they're not strong or skilled. I like it.

  • @sammiedodgers

I couldn't agree with you more. This school is definately form over function. I'd love to learn what they're doing, and plan on getting to learn more XMA, but only because I've had plenty of Self Defense training and encounters. Ultimately, I want to form a school with this flash, but with the true essence of Budo ready to back it up.

  • oooh, I want to give to give that a shot. I need to see if you are in Australia!

  • Must be selling very well...

  • is there a xma studio at NY

  • Calm down "Real Martial Artisits" Its just a fun form of physical fitness for Performers and Stunt Men/Women. It doesnt claim to be a fighting art and he even said its not Self-Defense.

  • @PerseusHero I'll come up to him and Shuto him in the neck, sweep him, crossover kick 'em,and finally Axe kick him before walking away.

    Little faggot :)

  • wow, they just raped martial arts with an iron neon green nunchaku

  • lol some fucking 11-year old in my school says "I know XMA,and you only know Ishin-

    Ryu!"

    What a fucktard.

he can't do this shit and ishin ryu is karate dumbass!

    his name is Estavon Vesquez.

  • loL!! power rangers!

  • he said at the first it is not self defense it is what the movies use

  • Karate became lame. they don't even wear proper uniform. all those flashy moves. take it in a real fight. see who last

  • is their a similar gym in europe? i'd love to go one in germany

  • question: i do karate & tricking is that enough to join xma???? plzz answer

  • @NikLagua yes you could always learn somthing new!

  • i love traditional martials arts and i like the flips and spins and stuff the in xma cuz it looks cool but has minimal martial arts in it . if ur gonna call it karate or such it should be traditional karate

  • They are good, but Team Ryouko has the edge.

  • Oh my God. Amazing. I wish I could do all that. My older brother does stuff like this but he's too busy. TEACH ME!

  • wasnt that Taylor Lautner in 1:07 ?

  • @PoprappingSongwriter yes when he was young he did xma their are videos of him doing it on youtube!

  • Too much show off ...

  • Krotty + skater culture = totally rad, dudes!

  • wow i never thought that the greatest sport on earth could be ruined. But this xma shit has proved me wrong

  • theee best gymnists

  • this is a joke to martial arts it is gymnastics. martial arts is not sopposed to be a show it is an anciant form of defence

  • this is a joke to martial arts it is gymnastics. martial arts is not sopposed to be a show it is an anciant form of defence

  • @billterm77 Learn how to spell. **Defense** ... **Gymnasts** ... **Ancient**. Lol.

And, you are right... traditionally speaking, martial arts revolves around basic self-defense, but who are you to say it can't evolve in such a way to allow more advanced movements to enter the realm of the "martial arts"?

  • dam lol the zipper head is dam good

  • How do they split like that without killing their BALLS!

  • @madzane94 Lol. Have you ever tried? It doesn't do anything to your "balls". There are no muscles that run from one leg all the way to the other. They are individual muscles in each leg, which is what you're stretching. You're never actually touching, or stretching, your genitalia. It's an ignorant man's fallacy.

  • XMA is more show then martial arts but it is still awesome

  • ses tros super jaime tros !

  • These guys would be a treat to any serious muay-thai figther :D

  • @Szederp so true...

  • dont call it martial arts butt gymnastics

  • I know that it takes a lot of athletic ability to do this stuff but I don't understand why they don't just call it what it is which is baton twirling and gymnastics.

  • shits crazy lol....tryin to keep up with mma.....

but with a stick i seriously think these kids could rock chuck hahaha

  • salut ca jaime tros super mais super jaime !!!!!!!! super

  • Haha, i took state champion for XMA weapons and Open hand for ohio in 2009. I LOVE Xma, its soooo much fun.

  • *Jaw dropping*

  • nice my friend was in one of these classes and then he got into a fight and crippled the other boy for life

  • @theshadowgiver ._.'

  • omg its jackie chan!

  • To all twilight fans Tayler Lautner reping his martial arts background here.

  • omg i wanna train there'!!!!!!!!!! :(

  • we want this in mexico!!!

  • Who was the dude in power rangers?

  • Someday, I want to compete at XMA

  • IMHO xma is a bit too mainstream and flashy to be considered a real discipline (such as Wado Ryu or Jiu Jitsu) as opposed to an exhibition. However, that being said, nobody can deny that the strength and speed of these people is dumbfounding and overall very fun to watch. 5 stars

  • POWER RANGERRRRRS!!!

  • This kind of stuff reminds me of Cobra Kai in Karate kid, nothing pratical just things to make you look cool.

  • duuude its taylor luthner at 1:08

  • Do you have to meditate in this at all?

  • go team ryouko !

  • @amirvega hahahah!! thats funny but who said anything about twilight

  • Hey there's Taylor Lautner in 1:08!

  • It shouldn't even be called Extreme Martial Arts because of the fact that they mentioned that it teaches no self-defense and no traditional curriculum. It's more of a curriculum that trains people to be great performers for fighting oriented movies or stunts.

Asides from that, I am really impressed of the skill level that the people in the video have. There's practical use in what they do but its in the basic things that they can do. Also, I envy their state of the art facilities haha.

  • @amirvega who said anything adout twilight

  • its alot harder then i look i should no

  • que penka, no deverian llamarce artes marciales extremas. kitenle el marcial.

  • Great facility!

Martial arts is many things to many different people. For some it is health and wellness, to others it is self defense, some it is cage fighting, to these talented folks it is performance.

    Congratulations on your building.

  • i knoe mike chat who invented xma. he is also a blue power ranger

  • omg i'm i am a canada champ now so i gotta compete against them

  • i bet this is where they get people to act in action movies and stuff...

  • o.O

  • BUEN I VIDEO EXELENTE

  • mike chat train matt mullins matt mullins trained craigh henninsen

    esta rifado

  • @brooklindax John Sharkey trained all of them.

  • EXTREEEEEEEEEEEMMEEEEE!!!! RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA :P :\ :) hahaha

  • I use to do Taekwondo I got to my black belt, and they started Xma with the ATA fun stuff wish I was still there

  • i wish my karate school looked like that, we can barley use boe staffs because the ceilings are to low

  • im joining haha

  • xma looks cool but you cant fight with this wenn you make 3 saltos and i punch you with a bo wehno you jump then have you loose ^^

  • Oh look! It's baton twirling with swords!

  • exactly its not a martial art its just a dance

    no spirit at all
