two valve arrangements have better torque characteristics than multi-valve (3V, 4V) setups. and believe me when ur moving 3 tons of truck, torque is ur best friend and the sooner u get into that band the better. a 3V or 4V 6.2L might sound better but ask NA cobra or Mach 1 owners where all the power is, its mostly all up top in the rev range, (thank god for 4.10's that even things out ha ha)

yes very true but the 5.4 would probably be the better choice still, lighter and cheaper. i mean 400+ hp in both of them so the difference isnt huge

it prolly would be cheaper but i think ford just decided to to drop the existing 4.6 5.4 and 6.8L modulars with engines that are smaller yet more efficient. the 5.0 will probobly be re-tuned for torque as a mid-level powertrain with the BOSS 6.2 as the premium powerplant. Ford did this back in '97 when it dropped the 302, 351 and 460 and replaced them with smaller displacement (281, 330 and 413) engines that not only made more power but were more efficient. the only 5.4 left is in the 2011 GT500

with the 2008 5.4l triton v8 vs the dodge ram 5.7L hemi on a quarter mile run, the ford comes out .34 seconds faster in quarter mile then the dodge. it's not so much power, as it is weight.

ford f150 (15.34) seconds at 101mph

ram 1500 (15.68) seconds at 100mph

both trucks are impressive, however with the 6.2L Rumour has it it runs a 14.20 second quarter mile at 109mph

i own nothing but fords but there noway in hell a 5.4 ford is touching an equal dodge with a hemi. maybe if the ford is a regular cab half ton 2wd and the dodge is a 1 ton crew cab dually-maybe. im glad to see ford finally introducing a decent gas V8. i had to buy a 3/4 ton diesel (which i love) to get a ford with any power.

Does anyone know how well it will do in the city. I love going off-road but i live in the city and wouldn't want to get this truck if it drives bad in the city (milage and normal handling wise). BUT if it does alright in day to day driving then hell i would think hard in buying one.

those are chevy motors ford biggest gas v8 still being made was a 5.4l which is underpowered for truks like the f250 and the v10 wasnt a great motor. and is no such thing as a big enough motor

First of all the truck is hideous, second it has a huge 6.2 liter and what Jamal doesnt know is that it only has 390HP. Pathetic. The new Hemi has 390HP without the price tag. As for the suspension look at my vids and check out my Pre-runner Titan which I installed for under 5K.

Im talking about the 09 Hemi, they state it has 390HP, and the single cab can do 0-60 in under six seconds. Im not a Dodge fan but those are impressive numbers.

Correction I shouldnt call my Titan a Pre-Runner. Lets just say that the mods on this Ford Raptor and mine would make them Pre-Runner style.

As for your comments on the mass produced generic Fox Shocks, they are good but you cant compare them to Sway Away shocks. Never heard of them have you?

ohh okay, yea no dout the hemi is faster, but the style dodge has it dosnt handle baja with even aftermarket suspension that great, its more of a battle of street n offroad, the 6.2L dosnt have as much power as the 5.7L because theres more room to upgrade, the 5.7L hemi is already using a different compression ratio,Re-ported heads, and a intake system

well Pre-runner is any 2wd truck, Trophy truck is moreless like all out baja truck, so you can still consider it a pre-runner

sway away shocks? yea im know of them, decent, but there long travel set up is only like 7-8In of travel isnt it?, and mid is only like 3" travel, they hold up good, and less to maintain once you get up in 100K mile range, but ya cant really compair them, the long travel is int a different class, its like using coil overs with swing arms an comparing it with a camburg set up..

this raptor is decent, but i liked svt better on the street, the raptor moreless just a test truck in a way i think

n ford 6.2L. probably wont make a difference pluse 6.2L boss motor, any ford motor with boss in the name is usally a high output motor

theres a hell of a lot more tweaked and changed on suspension for this truck. It will be entered in this years Baja 1000 to prove its durabilty

The Baja version of the Rapture is well over $100,000. I would love to see all the manufacturers race them bone stock! The Rapture is defiantly the best out of the box.Ford went so far just to add 2.6 inches of front wheel travel, disappointing, but still impressive.
