  • Ok with the teacher for French artsong...But for example,a bass who would try to sing so clearly, with the "poor" vowels of the French language (listen instead to Russian or American natural harmonics sounds in spoken language) would just ruin all the art of chiaroscuro and mix of the registers.

  • Indeed! What a pity...

But I´ve noted every time, that M-me Fallien looks like the young sister of my beloved violine Prof. M-me Gauchman in Moscow...her manner to speak, to move and to lead the lesson....absolutely remarkable....

  • She must be very proud of him...sometimes their voices sound simillar...She had to teach him from the very first time, hadn´t she? And, he cannot hold on singing without his hands....:)

  • Ah, but he can!

Last June, when a breeze came up during the Salamanca concert (it was outdoors), the instrumentalists fixed their scores to the stands with clothespins. PhJ gripped his score to the music stand with both hands, and continued to sing superbly. Conclusion: temporary immobility of the forelimbs does not alter vocal qualities! :)

  • Oh my God, that should be a great suffering for him! His movements are incredibile and with his hands he plays violin during singing! I do the same! Of course he cannot sing in other way than fabulous, he IS perfect! :)

  • Oh mia dolcezza, JeanA, wonderful posting, what a pity I don´t understand French...wish to know, what is Madamme professeur explaining to him...

  • Thank you for the videos of La Mélodie Française. Great job! I like them very much

  • Thank you! I like them too!

  • The courtly serenaders,

    The beauteous listeners,

    Sit idling 'neath the branches

    A balmy zephyr stirs.

    It's Tircis and Aminta,

    Clitandre,--ever there!--

    Damis, of melting sonnets

    To many a frosty fair.

  • Their trailing flowery dresses,

    Their fine beflowered coats,

    Their elegance and lightness,

    And shadows blue,--all floats

    And mingles,--circling, wreathing,

    In moonlight opaline,

    While through the zephyr's harping

    Tinkles the mandoline.
