  • still moving

  • after all these years this is still my favorite thing ever. the music, the scenery, the technique, the emotion. EVERYTHING. i also still have a crush on travis.

  • omg...... dont such dancers get alot alot of bruises all over their body?? T.T

  • @cherrymacaroon At that dance level, you learn a proper way to fall so you don't end up bruised :)

  • there once was a time when audiences had manners and withheld their applause and screams during an art performance... to keep from spoiling it. I'd love to see those manners return.

  • Dear Santa, My only wish this next year for christmas is to meet Travis Wall. I am putting in the order early, because I know it is first come first serve.

    Sincerly,

    Travaddicted

  • this dance is so beautiful i always wanna cry when i watch it :) i love u travis!!

  • I Lovvvvvvvvvvve this dance!!

i remember i shade tears ,because of Mia Michaels <3 I Just Love Her !!

  • this needs more views

  • fabulous dancers and fabulous choreo a perfect trio ....

    looooooove it

  • this is so beautiful its, haunting.

  • This is one of the most beautiful dances I've ever seen..

  • Comment removed

  • Just think Travis was part of an Emmy winning piece and now he got his own nom for his own choreography.

  • thats the beauty in a beautiful thing, we all can feel how breath taking it is.

  • this is amazing and breathtaking @fans in the background stfu you scream for everything and you dont even understand

  • Lol the description: "Note: This video does not belong to me, all content belongs to Dick Clark"

  • too shame hi's gay....

  • @imaaaginario what? really?? I thought I was going to marry him... damn!

  • @MtlJonasProject u can try :P

  • 1:16 Was just amazing!!! BEAUTIFUL!

  • 0:49-0:53.....nuff said

  • and Travis is now a choreographer for the show:)

  • I remember watching this when I was six and only liking the dance because their was a bench.

    Thank god I have grown

  • this dance really made me lovee travis. it really showed him off. this dance is sooo beautiful and heart wrenching

  • i will never forget the first time i watched this dance...and it i still sso beautiful

  • i dont want to sound stupid, but can someone just tell me what the actual theme is??

  • This is one of my favorite performances of Travis!

  • متناغمين جداً

  • So beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Can everyone stop bitching and just enjoy this piece of art. kkthanks.

  • he's good. he seems small but he has strenght

  • I don't understand this routine. Can someone explain to me the message? The theme?

  • And "don't watch the show" is as blunt as I can get about it. Not very tactful but whatever. Maybe I should rephrase this- "I feel that you shouldn't watch the show, but if you do, don't vote. There are people who are very talented and deserve to win competitions like this, and people who are only open to one style ,like yourself, ruin the votes and their chances. Also, the show is very diverse in dance and you ask for way more contemporary, so I don't think it was a show made for you." better?

  • @iluvdrakeandjosh At what point did I every say I was only open to one dance style? I only even MENTIONED contemporary, ballroom, hip hop and ballet and only two of those I was unhappy with. I love jazz and lyrical, tap is alright (I appreciate that it takes a lot of skill) I adore ballet (full time ballerina over here) I don't like to do krump, but I respect the people who do because I know it takes a lot of effort. So don't tell me I'm 'only open to one style' cause you are completely wrong.

  • And I'll vote if I want to vote. The show is Australia's (or America's or whichever country it is aired in) FAVOURITE dancer, not just the most diverse. I happen to like ballet dancers and contemporary artists above other styles because I can relate. My favourite dancer would be the person who I can identify with and who dances a style I enjoy watching well.

  • This has hands down been in my top 3 fave performances throughout EVERY season of SYTYCD!!! I adore Travis!! What a talent:) Hope to see more of him in the future:) The guy's a genius!!

  • i love travis more than anything in the world. i think he is an absolute genius

  • BrIngs tears to my eyes every time. SO Beautiful!

  • The story of my life =/

  • This is my favorite routine in SO You Think you Can DAnce History!!:)

    <3

  • Mia Michaels + Travis Wall = Perfection.

  • wow...was there no choreography given to the girl in this one? that was ALL Travis. ...hmmm

  • love Heidiii and travis... OMG he's perfect *.*

  • I love this routine. Travis is such a beautiful dancer but I am sooooo incredibly glad he become a choreographer because the pieces that he was created for this show has been so incredible. Mia Michaels is an inspirational choreographer as well, I hope she comes back next season.

  • lets get married travis.

  • SYTYCD is not as good as it used to be. its still a great show, i just think the past 2 seasons had nothing compared to the ones before. =)

    juz my opion tho.

  • @missiekatt Yeah... Waaayyyyy too much ballroom and letting Mia leave was the worst mistake any show could ever make. I only watched this show for the contemporary - I find ballroom boring, hip hop nearly offensive and the one time they did ballet I cried cause I was so happy. I want contemporary back!

  • @chainedserendipity 1. I find it sad that you only like one dance type. The entire purpose of the show is too find a dancer who can encompass all the dance sphere's properly, and there are tons of them, so I don't think you should watch the show. 2. Season 8 had TONS of contemporary. A ridiculous amount by my standards and most of dances they did for other types was either very contemporary in style or it sucked.

  • @iluvdrakeandjosh

    1. You like Drake and Josh...

    2. "The entire purpose of the show is too" <- actually I am pretty sure it's TO find a dancer blah blah blah meow meow meow.

    3. Thanks, I'll make sure to not watch the show because you told me not to. Yeah, TO. Not TOO.

    4. Again, you like Drake and Josh...

  • @iluvdrakeandjosh Why are you so defensive? We're all allowed to have our opinions, you don't see me telling you that you're an utter douchebag cause I'm giving you the choice to have an opinion as you should give others (and myself) the chance for one as well.

As if I'm going to stop watching an entirely decent show cause you told me to. You might be allowed an opinion, but it doesn't mean it matters one tiny bit.

  • @iluvdrakeandjosh Oh, and spell check your (apparently) witty responses. I'm pretty sure 'botcher' isn't a word.

  • @chainedserendipity botcher is in fact a word, but thanks. And I honestly don't see how I was being defensive. Feel free to call me a douche. I already realized I was being one and obviously one person over the internet isn't going to make you stop watching the show completely. Just felt like sharing my strong feelings on the voters, mainly one's who only like one genre and mess everything up because they don't bother to look at the other styles and the people that do them.

  • Comment removed

  • @chainedserendipity wow. your words are actually insulting to dance.

  • I would like to marry Travis please.

  • me gusta como baila travis pero aqui senti que no estaba muy pendiente de ella, de su pareja n obstante una rutina genial. =)

  • TRAVIS IS AMAZING, BRILLIANT, AND THE BEST THING TO COME OUT OF SYSTYCD!!!!!!!

  • 0:49-0:53 the best 4 seconds ever on SYTYCD.

  • Two people mistook "dislike" for "dis i like"

  • 0:55, did he pull her out by her hair???

  • @ErikaBallerina1 no he pulled her out by her hand and then she grabbed his leg.

  • @iluvdrakeandjosh oh, thankyou for the clarification lol

  • wow....first he danced and now he makes othersdance

  • This is so breathtaking and amazing, but when there's a bunch of fans screaming in the background it makes me irritated every time.

"Oh my god they just did something sexual - SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE"

"Oh my god, he's cute when he dances - SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE"

It's hard to enjoy something so quiet and beautiful when it's interrupted by screaming fangirls and so much media.

  • @wonderlandam90 i disagree.....lol im a performer and really you need feedback from the audience otherwise if everyone screams for one dance and then you start yours and its silent....you feel stupid

  • @wonderlandam90 Yeah imagine how he must have felt. lmao

  • absolutely breath taking:) love travis!

  • Shouldve used Jeff Buckley's version

  • @shanzie was just thinking that

  • amazing. just amazing.

  • No disrespect to Heidi but if Travis had danced this with Allison it might have been the best dance in the history of the show. It truly a shame that we never got to see those 2 paired up.

  • @tclass99 YES YES YES totally agree!!

  • this still brings tears to my eyes. every single time.

  • man o man :O

  • I keep coming back. I'm still loving it everytime i watch it.

  • This is still one of my favorites. Top 5!

  • mia michaels out did herself with this choreography

  • I swear, Travis owned this dance.

I couldn't take my eyes off of him<3

  • @sportsmusic114 this dance is amazing. u r wrong, i would luv to see u win awards and have ur dancing remembered forever! ur an ass and dont know wat dance really is. and all that shit u said literally came straight out of ur ass! I've been dancing for 15 yrs now and i would love to be blessed to be so beautiful. just because this isnt up to "your" standards doesnt mean shit!

  • @binix13 I think you meant to direct this comment at macguy14 instead.

  • @binix13 yeah you were suppose to direct that to me. read more closely if you're gonna yell at people. I do win awards. In 2008 I was the young dancer to watch for Vienna in BalletTanz magazine.

  • @macguy14 wow..really? First off, this dance was absolutely beautiful, captivating, stunning. I love everything about it. Idk what style of dance u do, but every dancer i know would kill to have danced this. The whole point is the simplicity and how intricate it is, and if u are truly a dancer, i would think u would be able to notice that and show some respect.

But, if u truly dont like it try watching some of the other dances from the show. Maybe ull find something more ur "style".

  • @sportsmusic114 I notice that its dated from like 1980s choreography, superficial emotions, a style that hasn't evolved. Its what you do when you're 13 & start dancing, professionals who keep doing this stuff is why dance hasn't evolved in US. Given, stuff like that CAN be decent, but I'm just surprised at how boring that was. search 'la la la human steps' or, 'alain platel' or 'ultima vez' 'rosas' 'pina bausch' if you wanna see something interesting. i know its a TV show, but still....

  • @macguy14 Dance IS evolving everywhere in the world, brother. I live in India, and I still know about the evolution of the styles in the United States. And I've seen videos of these two after their performance, and they're shaking with the amount of emotion that they put into the piece.

It may not be up to your standards, but that doesn't mean you put down a truly beautiful piece of work.

Still, your opinion is appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

  • @Slayergrey Its not about 'up to my standards' The style is proficient in its own right. Its just boring. The dancers are good of course. Just the one minute is boring and winning awards for that style is what keeps dance not evolving. There is no difference between that and 1980's Fame. Whereas look at music, 1980s and 2011 music has changed every 3 years....Anyway its from season 2, so I'm guessing even Michaels would be making different work by now

  • @macguy14 That makes sense, I guess. But you should take a look at Mia's work now...she's evolved into a wonderful choreographer, and there really is something magical about her work. Her pieces might not be the best, but there's something about her style that brings about a visceral response in everyone she puts her work on.

It brings out emotion, and exposes people for who they are.

And if that isn't the point of dance, I don't know what is.

  • @Slayergrey But don't confuse choreography with the dancers. Doing a pirouette with a sunflower to celine dion. c'mon this for me is a joke. I just think the stuff that is truely inspiring is a breakdance on the streets of LA, a ballerina in Russia, partnering in a salsa club....when you add someone elses choreography, and they're supposed to be good at all styles, i actually just see puppets and no individuality. im sure the dancers love what they do, but it just reads as 'fake' to me.

  • @macguy14 All right. But isn't versatility important as well, in today's world? Where dancers are supposed to perform all sorts of different styles?

Personally, I'm a hip hop dancer, proficient in a lot of styles. But I've just started taking classes to learn jazz and contemporary.

And the dancers are perfectly capable of putting their own spin on the choreo that they're given. I can tell you that this piece itself was tweaked quite a bit by the dancers. Would that count as individuality?

  • @Slayergrey yeah this is a paradox. versatility is important. so you have choices, so everyone should learn as many styles as possible. but then so often people get stuck in a form. honestly i think most of the styles on SYTYCD are basically the same with different names. its more musical theatre than anything else actually. i just see these dancers fulfilling a prototype that they think is 'pretty' or 'correct'. i just see them 'trying' instead of 'being'. they're young....

  • @macguy14 I'm sorry, I didn't quite understand how it's a paradox.

Ballroom can be interpreted as being similar, but that's churlish. I agree, SYTYCD does tend to blur the line between jazz and contemporary. But how're the other styles the same?

And there is no prototype at all...if there was, how would you explain people like Russell (season 6 winner) or Cedric (season 3) being on the show?

There are shows that a person can win for being unique as well- America's Got Talent and the like.

  • @macguy14 There's a lot of work on the show that's truly groundbreaking as well. Tabitha and Napoleon with their lyrical hip hop, the wonderful pas de deux that was showcased so beautifully and Travis himself. I think you should check out some other stuff from the show as well.

And, in the interest of making this a sane, civil discussion, don't you think it's important to stay true to your roots, even through evolution?

  • @Slayergrey I understand that you are very passionate about this. That is not anything I am trying to take away. I think if u like this type of work that is fine u should just know where it stands in the greater realm of dance these days. The show also tries to make a winner someone who is good in all styles. I don't expect an opera singer to compete with a jazz singer. When someone uses their body to be good in ballet and hip hop, I feel their identity gets lost. and thats what i see on stage

  • favorite routine of all seasons so for

  • One of the best routines you will ever see!

  • it's like life.

  • beautiful, beautiful, just beautiful!!! <3
