Been using these. Overall, good. They are 85kbps. My speedtest on my WiFi any router is 5.5meg download but on the extender is only 0.5meg download. Looking at upgrading to some 200kbps ones. They are best suited if you can't locate your home pc near the telephone point.
Don't bother ringing Customer Technical Services for Devolo unless you want to spend all day on the phone waiting whilst paying per minute for the call. A good way of making money.

How do I activate the WEP on it? And how do I change the name of the wireless network so it's the same as the router? This will avoid my laptop changing to another wireless network when I go from room to room.
I've got one of those, it works great, better than the livebox itself. What I want to know though, is how you configure it (WAP, DHCP etc.). I tired htto://192.168.0.1 but nogo. How do you get into it in admin mode?

LMAO.....How about downloading a picture from the INTERNET not your hard drive.....LMAO, ROTFL MFAO...... copying and pasting from sample pictures is from your harddrive. You did a copy and paste test, not a internet test.....
The principle is still the same, he is boosting his signal, the same would be true from an internet connection... So continue rolling on the floor laughing...

Seeing that you are so fucking stupid, I'll explain in basic simple language. The guy in the video, copied one file and paste it else where on the computer he was using. He did not do a download nor an upload. Do you understand?
No he DIDNT, he was using network shares most likely from a NAS device attached elsewhere in his house. So it was local in the sense that it was on his NETWORK, but not his actual Computer.. I know this by the icon on the folder he clicked indicted that it was a network share, not local.
Nothing to do with the net. Its to do with his home network signal, if its poor for copying a file from one computer in his house to another then it would be poor for accessing the net. What he is showing here is that with home plugs he can copy files on his home network faster so this would also be true for downloading files from the net...
Have you ever tried setting the Devolo HomePlug wireless access point up with the same SSID and security settings as the router? If you do it this way and have the channel set to a different one to the router, you can allow simple "cellular-style" roaming between upstairs and downstairs.
Got a some devolo Adapters at my home. Love'em. I'd go for the 200Mbps Version which is way better than any Wi-Fi network in terms of stabiliity. If you got really fast internet like 32 Mbps that one is an absolute must. You won't get 32 Mbps over WiFi otherwise.
That's right. So you've got your router elsewhere in the house, sending signals through your electrical wiring to the Wi-Fi Extender. This then acts as a Wi-Fi hotspot, so you can get a good Wi-Fi signal, even if you're not getting it direct from your router.

Can you plug an ethernet cable from the labtop into the receiving adaptor or do you have to use wifi ?
NOHOMOSLVRL7 3 years ago
It has one Ethernet socket, so you can use that instead of Wi-Fi if you wish.
WebUserMagazine 3 years ago
@WebUserMagazine can you use both at the same time? eg, ethernet plugged into a laptop and the wifi signal for smartphone?
Manuker1 5 months ago
or you can connect the other end to another router

That's right. So you've got your router elsewhere in the house, sending signals through your electrical wiring to the Wi-Fi Extender. This then acts as a Wi-Fi hotspot, so you can get a good Wi-Fi signal, even if you're not getting it direct from your router.
