  • What is the difference in the drivetrain between manual and automatic? Is it true that manual is better in deep snow or mud?

  • @TheAnabolicMutation Again, apples to oranges. And in no way was I being arrogant. If you see a harmless comment as arrogant, then that's just kind of sad.

And if you think your Lexus can dust me; sadly, you're mistaken.

  • @TheAnabolicMutation That just comes off as ignorant, no? It's all to do with taste.... And a couple hundred bucks to get the car painted.

Why do people never think is beyond me.

  • All is simple, the VCD has been OFF !!!

  • Wow, that is really interesting to see the weird performance of the tow car, with the rear wheel spinning that much. I thought there was a system that braked the wheels that spin so the traction goes to the other side. I am seriously rethinking my purchase of an Outback. Good news for Audi I guess.

  • @TheJoePepper The systems are different on the manual transmissions. If you don't buy a manual Outback, you might as well not even own one. What's great about Subaru, is they use a viscous coupling. One wheel can pull the entire weight of the car up an incline. Here is a good video. The Subaru's are automatic, for comparison reasons, but the manuals are better than the automatics, so bare in mind. /watch?v=ooQRxlChvMw

  • @Streetracingpunk72 Thanks for the info. I have found that viscous couplings are inferior to torsen differentials, which they happen to exclude in that video. I wish Subaru would make a manual H6 Outback! :)

  • @TheJoePepper same here! i love my '02 H6-3.0 but it would be aweseome to have it manual.

  • @TheJoePepper Hey hey hey don't go buying an audi... it's because the VDC is off so it doesn't brake the wheels. When it's on it brakes them like me Outback (mines a 2001) and it's VDC is great, it brakes the wheels very well and I can easily manuveur over obstacles as if it had LSD's / lockers on both axles.

  • @Matty231 Haha thanks for the advice. Yes VDC should be on in that situation. It took Subaru a few years to catch up and put one of these systems in place, but it's a great addition.

  • i just moved from florida to colorado and sold my truck and got a great deal on a 02 black ltd in real clean condition....this vid should show more of the black one i love the 02 all black....those look like stock rims from an 05 and up and anyone know where he got those aftermarket headlights and taillights?????

  • I have a 1999 Outback and live in the Colorado rocky mountains. even with summer tyres i've never gotten stuck in snow. Problem is, Subaru keeps making the cars Heavier.

  • you euro guys need to learn how to drive your outbacks! i've never got stuck in my 05 outback 3.0. I've been thru ohio mud that deep!

  • drive like an american. ive only been stuck once in a vehicle. damn chevy pieces of crap. never had a problem in my 97 Outback. i was doing donuts where i got the damn truck stuck. it scoots thru mud. i love it

  • so whats a point??
