Although I like the Bobby Brown song (moreso than the Run DMC song), I agree, they should have used Ray Parker Jr.'s original just like how you had it. Good job. With just the snippet heard at the beginning and end of the movie, I'm not sure why it wasn't used more. The song was an enormous hit, even before the film came out in 1984, and it seemed like they downplayed it in "Ghostbusters II" for some reason. Again, good job.

@MikeAM78 i see what you mean but they didnt downplay it at that time they had got new artist to make new songs especially for the movie and because they were new they gave them their time. but Ray Parker Jr's version is always going to be their theme song. and Run DMC's song i heard it was written by Ray Parker Jr also they just performed it

I like the music and the score in Ghostbusters 2 a whole lot better than in the 1st one. both movies were AWSOME but I LUV the 2nd one better for some reason. The BOMB rap remixes, the Slime blowers, the improved visual effects, the pimped out Ecto-1a, the SLIME, the court scene, the Ghost Train, and the Dancing toaster. IDK I jus LUV it! the only thing it was missing was the stay puff Marshmellow Man.

@KeepingAngelaBaker The thing is, though, you submitted this video in a public forum, leaving yourself open to criticism, be it friendly or hostile. If you had explained WHY you feel that the Ray Parker Jr. song is better for these end credits than Booby Brown's song, then I can see your viewpoint better and offer my own in an equally reasonable manner. Ultimately, I love both songs myself and feel that "On Our Ow", an R&B song, meshes well. That's my opinion.

"That awful rap" is a CLASSIC! The chords used in Bobby Brown's "On Our Own" evoke that other-worldly essence we love about the GB. Not to mention, since it's Hip Hop, it's like the working/everyday man from the streets vibe; just like the Ghostbusters themselves. 1989 got it. It reached #1 on the Billboard R&B chart, #2 on the Hot 100 pop chart. Despite what people may think about Bobby Brown these days, that song was & is FIRE! *sigh* Some people just don't know good music.

I'm not disagreeing with you about Elmer. I LOVE his score. However, you weren't referring to the instrumental score in your initial argument by berating Bobby Brown's "On Our Own." Everyone's entitled to their own musical tastes, but to deny the beauty of one genre just because it doesn't suit your personal taste isn't a fair assessment. A LOT of people dig that song & the images in conjurs of a bygone era in great movie soundtracks--myself included.

Elmer Bernstein's score was finally released on CD a few years ago. Unfortunately, it's already out of print. Your best bet is to look around online and try to download it or some such.

I liked the score from the second movie. I don't understand why some people are saying the music is one of the biggest reasons it sucked. I thought Bobby Brown's "on our own" was catchier than ray paker jr.s original song. And by the way, Ghostbusters 2 is awesome!
