I was there! I got to meet Pyro earlier that day and I was all for him, he looked so good. I couldn't believe that Macho Again won, but he had so much power reserved and Pyro moved a little too late. Da'Tara and Mint Lane destroyed themselves, a shame. Dead last Belmont winner.
The cool thing is the horse that won - one of his connections is a graduate of the installation where I work. Though I do not know them - it is still neat!!
I don't know Da Tara was a riskier wager because we wouldn't even know who he was without the Belmont win. Pyro just came on a bit too late but still ran a good race
I don't know who was more disappointing: Da Tara or Pyro. I'll say Pyro because the race was absolutely served up on a platter for him, whereas Da Tara was forced to duel. I can still see Da Tara being formidable as controlling speed in the future despite this, but Pyro has done nothing to change my opinion of him as a risky wager.
Mach Again had to check in the stretch..they could have ran twice aruond track and he still would have won...horse showed incredibe toughness

Yes, Pyro is probably the best horse ever who won't win a Grade 1 race.

He is a more consistent dirt horse than any other horse in this race.
