This caught me off guard when I first saw it, but if you listen to the lyrics, the song is a tale about how playing it too cool can make you miss an opportunity. That describes Johnny's character to a tee. The thing that makes it awkward is 1) They're at a formal event & he unexpectedly starts rapping which makes it seem random 2) The animation has him doing the ultimate white man shuffle. In the end, it's a pretty dope song with hilarious visuals. Big ups to The Pharcyde & Brian Austin Green.
