  • eeeeeeeeeeuuuuuuurrrr!

  • anybody wanna see a metal cover of this? i really wanna do one, like using distortion and bass and drums

  • John williams is a god

  • Awsome

  • great kid, dont get penisy

  • The best part was 0:00 to 2:20.

  • I listen to this whilst flying a jet on BF3.

  • @DaltonKarle123 haha dito mate :) I know what you mean

  • With all the changes Lucas made to the original trilogy, I'm surprised he left this sequence pretty much alone. It's always seemed to me that the Falcon is just stopped in space, letting the TIE's attack at will. Shouldn't the Falcon be flying around and doing all sorts of twists and turns to avoid the fighters while Han and Luke try to shoot them down?

  • Jedi Academy multiplayer anyone?

  • Must you all quote Family Guy? -_-

  • @abola2121 Well, allow me to quote good old Threepio himself: "Help! I'm melting! This is all YOUR fault!"

  • @abola2121 YEAH that's how you do it in my neigbourhood bitch!!

  • @abola2121 Hey, I'm not big on Family Guy either.

  • Awesome.

  • Now i want to see in the next special edition is R2 shooting out and blows up a tie fighter then say "Yeah, that's how we do it in MY neighborhood, bitch!"

  • Dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun DUN DUN dun dun DUN DUN DUN DUUN DUUUN!

  • Astonishingly well done, Luke, Han, and Megaputi!

  • I want this music to play every time you see people fight LOL

  • I love the crescendo at the beginning as they are being stalked by the unseen fighters, and then the drop as they flyby over the camera as the battle begins

  • Lol idk but this reminds me of the good ol´ Jedi Academy days (or just the song on NES was brilliant :D)

  • lol lol lol 6 tie fighters are attacking the comment page!!! lol lol lol

  • omfg i luv this on family guy.....

Peter: Na na na na na na na na!

  • great kid, don't get penisy!

  • best song ever

  • if i were ever a fighter pilor... i want this playing while in battle!!!

  • This song is great, but I wish the high pitched distorted trumpet part was better refined.

  • @PSNDonutDude youtube impairs the quality a bit, but i could upload it with higher quality

  • @PSNDonutDude

yeah it looks like a wing commander game or something lol

  • best part of the song comes at 0:30

  • Imagine you are in an X-Wing flying to this man.........You'd be like YEAHHHHHH WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO *WEDGE WEDGE*

  • Cool! Good job.

  • The best music written by a composer since the masters of the 19th century!!!

  • the han solo canon blaster doesnt make sence becuse i looked that the model

of the milanium falcon and the canons are not in the right place for the gunners seat

    it doesnt make sence

  • BEST STAR WARS MUSIC

  • speed it up 1.02 times then it fits better and sounds much more original^^

  • @baufreaker Actually this is the original^^. But I copied the scene from the DVD and the frame rate on a DVD is 25 frame/s (in europe) and a movie's frame rate is 24 frame/s. So the movie on the DVD runs a bit faster and because of that the pitch of the music is a bit higher than it was originally. In my other videos I've raised the speed of the music so that it fits to the scene.

  • I just love the music from 0:40 till 0:47.

  • peter family guy: dah dah dah dah dah dah... LOL

  • Very well synchronized.

  • Some of Williams' finest here.

  • The song itself almost tells the story without the visuals. The scene itself was exciting enough, but it's John Williams' composition for this part that made it the kickass scene it is.

  • Tehe! this song is awesome (then again, I do think anything to do with star wars is awesome)

  • star wars is just awesome like this song! I am going to the concert!!

  • Good Quality!

  • My mum told me when they had this on Johnny Carson. They did the entire fight and by the time it finished the entire crowd was on its feet in applause

  • Great video. I know what you mean about the video not exactly matching with the music because I own the soundtracks for Episodes II,III,IV, and V on CD. This is one of the most exciting scenes in this movie next to the Battle of Yavin. Good stuff!

    Ken Palmer

  • This is the best song of the saga (besides the Victory Celebration in ROTJ Special Edition)

  • This is one of the best scenes in the film

  • great song, dude!

  • Classic song...

  • Awsome!

  • One of my favourite scenes and one of my favourite scores of John Williams. I'm glad that he reused it for the Battle of Endor.

  • Totally agree with you, its amazing at 31 seconds when it kicks in, is the episode 6 music slightly different though?

  • yes, it is. That version also contains parts of the score Williams made for the battle of Yavin.

  • nice

  • I believe you mean to say the music on the soundtrack goes faster then on the actual film.

  • P.S. :55-:59 What?! Those shots didn't even hit the Falcon!

  • Episode 4 is rough around the edges

  • You have to take into account that this was made during the SEVENTIES.

  • All I'm saying is that it had to be made cheaply, and a big chunk of the film had to be made within a week, and Lucas even had a heart condition trying to finish it.

The other two were made for about three times as much money.

Episode 4 was going to be made with 8 million dollars, but turned into 11 million.

I think there were some issues with the VFX too.

Obviously a fantastic film even by today's standards, though a bit campy, and no doubt something very special for the time.

  • Actually, I can remember reading about that...

Seems the founders doubted that the movie would be any good at all, so they gave Lucas himself all the rights to it.

    Bet they regretted it. :)

  • I have that big The Making of Star Wars book which has a lot of detail, from the 1974 concert art, early posters, and goes into every detail including that one sentry guy at the Rebel Base who guess what, he's actually in a modified trash bin.

I'll have to take another look at it.

I also was always curious how they did the hyperspace effect, it's tin foil with modified color.

  • Now I'll think of tinfoil whenever I see that effect. :(

  • Hey I've watched the movies with commentary I know how virtually every shot was done.

Watching Star Wars as a kid was so awesome.

  • So it was. :)

  • That...Was...COOL!!!!

  • the music fits in so well
