Laurent Pelly seems to be that rarity, a "cool" director who actually bothers to listen to the music. When he makes the characters do silly things, they actually fit the music and the rhythm and even the words - like Puck and Boum spinning Paul back and forth as they repeat Max's last name.

There's a ton of productions out there where the director makes decisions that struggle against the music, or are totally redundant.

Excellent version of the trio. Lots to like. I love Puck's surreal 'en gardent la mémoire' face! I'll definitely be getting the dvd of this production...
