This song was produced by Richard Rudolph the husband of the late great Minnie Riperton. He and Tina made a killer combination. Had Tina been matched up with producers like this (as she was in earlier days with Rick James) she would made more classics. The only person that I see that has the talent and potential of Tina in our day is Christina Aguilera. At this time she's too busy trying to be "dirty" instead of making good music. Just my opinion of course.

She was a rare star that fell from the sky and landed at Motown records, and boy could she make you get up and dance. Teena did that. Few "artists" today can do that. Its truly a pity that few have paid homage to her. She's no longer with us in body, but she will always be with us in spirit.

Teena Marie ... 30 years of your music in my life! Since 1981 at 14 I dated a DJ. Every song was a LP record that lasted forever. I've loved u ever since! I'm brokenhearted you're gone Lady T but I will keep your music alive! U were the baddest at Motown and I love you, your gorgeous voice & cool style! -I missed my last chance to see U perform live 6 months ago. You are the real deal in r&b music-a true original. Love u Teena...some of my fondest memories will be tied to your music forever!
