True, my non-radio faves on this album were "Midnight Creeper" and "Have Mercy On The Criminal" when I was a kid. That's why albums are a good thing! You open a record for "Crocodile Rock" and then you come to know the words to "Eldeberry Wine". (;

Casarellaboy, il tuo commento è tra i più idioti e ignoranti che possano esistere. Vai, Sir Elton John, YOU'RE ALWAYS THE BEST ALL OVER THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, Elton can't hit some of the high notes that he used to, but in my opinion, his voice has a richer and more beautiful timbre to it than he possessed as a young man. Elton and his voice have aged like a fine wine. His songs will always be music to my ears!
Of course he sounds a little different than about 40 years ago. A little out of tune in the beginning. But he is in his 60s, and this song is amazing, one of my favorites. I hope he will be singing this in Helsinki 10.10.2009. I'll be there, flying high!
Your Song, Blues For Baby and Me, Razor Face, Slow Rivers, Dear John, The Cage, The Boy in the Red Shoes, Susie Dramas, Breaking Hearts, Grimsby, Paris, Big Dipper, Son of Your Father, Birds, Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters part two, Amy, Chasing the Crown, Billy Bones, Amoreena, Rotten Peaches, Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting, Goodbye (leaves the stage for ten minutes then comes back and plays) Grow Some Funk of Your Own! then leaves.
this is the first time that I have ever heard this song and it just brought tears to my eyes. If the song on the album is better than this than I have got to hear it because this is awesome.
This, along with Daniel, Answer in the Sky and Love Song and Dont Let the Sun Go Down On Me are my favorites. Never thought I'd hear him sing this one live! What a bonus!
I "grew up" with Elton. I always felt that for every single that sold a billion copies there were songs like this that were just as good. He was simply prolific. The ultimate balladeer...
great song off a great album. the album version is much better, but hey, he's 60, cut him some slack. The finale, "My High Flying, High Flying Bird" still gives me goosebumps when I hear it.
I love this song but it is so much more lovely on the old album. His voice is a lot different nowadays. To me Elton is the old Elton from the 60's and early 70's.
am i the only one who get chills from this song..?

@mizofan - but don't we like gems like these the best that weren't released as singles?
They are like our own little private songs or discoveries that were not played on the radio. "my" other is Street Kids...

One of my top 5 Elton songs which is saying a helluva lot. It would have been a massive hit if released as a single.
