This guy has no remorse for anyone who isn't a millionaire and American! What a croc of shit guy. I wonder why Americans watch him? Maybe we truely haven't gotten over our biggoted ways.
O'Reilly is a moron. That family was legally here.
That tragedy wasn't about immigration - its about the increasing number of people in NYC that don't have adequate living conditions. We have a mayor that would rather see luxury condos built for the rich than get affordable housing for working people.
Thousands of people in NY, native born & immigrant, now live like that because the middle class can't afford market rents of $2000+ a month for an apartment.
Hmm...I'm just waiting for someone to discuss America's and Western Europe's imperialist involvement in subjecting nations into poor economic states, thereby preventing their nations from industrializing through the exploitation of resources forcing them to be economically dependent. i.e. French Indochina, British and Malaya, America and Cuba/Philippenes, Dutch and British in Africa, there is so much more. I'm not going to hold anyone's hand on a debate. Take a history course and see 4 yourself
i'll not debate history with you. But there are weak and strong people and nations if your weak sucks to be you. for instance if i'm on the street and get robbed it's my fault if i wasn't strong enough to defend and repel an attacker i guess i don't deserve to keep what is mine.
I do not agree with your logic. Their economic structures were basically retarded due to global factors, exploitation being one of them. You can learn to understand the problem and realize there are global repurcussions (such as mass immigration) and try to figure out how to repair the damage or be apathetic towards it and face the consequences of it later. From the looks of things you chose the latter.
i'm reading a book about when the whites came to america and took the land by force, killed a nation. The native americans destroyed by illegal immigrants from europe.
what goes around comes around. i think bill should remember this.
what comes around goes around is this a theory or a law? and steve your whining about illegal aliens where do you live? maybe nobosy should move from their present country have no more children so the human race can just die off. expansion is what happens when a place has to many people or they need to escape something. can't help it. so shut up whiner
Even if the family was legal, what are the chances that their particular home would've been inspected? I mean, this is NYC we're talking about. Loooooooooot of people.
O'Reilly your a mother fucking racist fuck, dont you realize youre fucking ugly? It is people like you who are racist fucks who try to use any excuse to try and send people out of their native continent without saying that your racist but we know you are.
Gotta say..O'Reilly is right on the money on this one. Working as a Firefighter I have seen many Apartments over occupied. This increases risks and dangers. Compassion has little to do with general safety and health.
Being a firefighter in an extremely busy and diverse area, I've run more fire in middle class and upper class residential areas than the lower class areas. However, I do agree that over occupied homes pose a great threat and it just so happened this fire was in the Bronx (one of the most diverse boroughs of NYC)to a lower class, of color working family. Bad arguement by O'Reilly to blame immigration for this tragedy, after all it was immigrants who laid the foundation for this nation.
These are not immigrants...they are illegal immigrants! There is a big, big, difference! They are forced to live in tighter quarters due to there illegality!
lets get alittle deeper in thought. oreilly was saying if it was harder to get in this country illegally they would not have been in the fire much less the country stop inhaling so much smoke it's killing your braincells
Let me guess, "You said some things to" yeah because some people pissed me off so I fire back...I'm not just going to sit here and take it but I think its best if I just ignore it from now on because all it does is piss me off and I would rather walk than raise my heart rate over ignorant people. I know I said I wouldn't respond but I did, get over it.
Personally I think the US made a bad decision producing factions between them because it divides the country and frankly much of politics has transformed into a free for all of insults and pointing fingers like children in grade school.
No I don't want to continue this debate because the people I debate with here fail to conduct themselves maturely like you just demonstrated and I have better things to do than to argue back and forth. And yeah I lose because you say I lose. Give yourself a pat on the back. Pfft
Seriously...I'm over this. Get your facts straight I'm not a liberal, conservative, Democrat or Republican. I don't care about this anymore I moved on and I have a life to attend to and if you leave stupid little comments to feed your ego, or any in reference to this video for that matter, I'm just going to delete them.
One last thing I was an EMT for over 3 years and I have worked with the fire dept. for over a year and a half ...have you ever had a child die in front of you, I'm guessing no, and trust me their ethnicity or where they come from is the last thing you thing on your mind. Don't bother responding I'm not going to reply your ignorance is astounding.
What a crock of shit your final post is. There you go again, drawing the race card. For the last time, illegal immigration isn't about race, but it's a losing debate for guys like you so you always draw the race card as a last ditch effort. Save it, we're not falling for that bs. You sound like a typical mindless liberal who needs a good dose of reality.
Actually the place from where they came does matter. If they were not there, the building would have just burnt with no casualties. One man had also please don't make a further ass out of yourself.
Seriously I'm over this, people can believe what they want to believe I'm not going to try to convince anyone else otherwise. It is just a waste of time and seriously throw your insults to someone else
I knew it! All liberals give up and whine in good time. It is just a matter of time. You have realized the facts will never support you and you have surrendered (Just like the dems want to do in Iraq) I commend you for not making a further ass out of yourself!
You know what I showed no disrespect when talking to you and I'm going to end this right now so if you want to curse go ahead but I'm not going to listen to it Goodbye.
I showed you no disrespect. I typed a few curse words but none were directed towards you. Didn't mean to offend you. Seems to me you are ending this debate because you can't win. The bottom line has always been ILLEGAL IMMIGRAION IS CORRUPT ON ALL SIDES AND IS NOT GOOD FOR THE COUNTRY. You pro-illegal immigrant guys keep tring to win this debate via "sympathy" and "compassion". It doesn't work that way.
Mexico's leaders are the ones who need to show sympathy and compassion for their own people. But strangely they are always left out of the equasion by you guys. People like you act as if America is GOD and we must save the world. News flash, my tax dollars can't save everyone, they need to help themselvs.
That is from one of my history courses...the numbers don't lie. I'm still not accounting for the Asian and African American immigration. Still think your ancestors didn't come in huge numbers, if you do please elaborate.
Even if these numbers are accurate, so what. It has nothing to do with ILLEGAL immigration. We're not talking about legal immigration that occured in the 1800s, we're talking about ILLEGAL immigration that's occuring now, get with the times.
When you stated "they didn't come in such massive numbers like near 20 million illegal Mexicans..." I just want to point out that is false unless you are Native American. Every person that wasn't Native American came here in vast numbers like the settlers of Western Europe came in vast numbers that is not opinion but factual and cannot be refuted, just look at the records.
You might want to read (if you haven't done so already) "Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave". He makes a lot of good points that don't just apply to slaves that are directly linked to education. I don't know why you are so angry at illegal immigrants but I'm just sorry you feel that way. We're not all bad.
You can't really do much about the illegal immigrants here unless you want some rodeo like action of people rounding them up and shipping them off ALA Warsaw. They are just people trying to find a better life, just like your ancestors did. Leave 'em be. We have far much worse things going on.
All this aside, how are you going to tell a child, "you can't learn to read and write. Only I can do that!" I can't do that. That is just heartless and cruel to tell that to a child, regardless of where they come from.
They can learn to read in write in their own country. Mexico has an education system, although a broken one. You need to stop being so emotional about all this and start being realistic.
My ancestors came here legally, and they didn't come in such massive numbers like near 20 million illegal Mexicans. Here's what we do, stop giving illegal aliens jobs, and we won't have to do a "rodeo roundup" they'll simply go back home. What's wrong with that? The law states it's illegal to hire them anyway, what's wrong with enforcing the law? Mexico's immigration laws are much stiffer than that.
That is just my opinion. Whether it is right or wrong who knows but it fact that education does promote a better life. Problem with this this solution is that it will take time but weren't not putting to much effort into it.
Again, it's not our job to pay for Mexicos education. We're already paying enough for the illegal aliens education. This may sound harsh and uncaring, but let's get real here. All Americans can do is put more pressure on the leaders of Mexico to fix their corrupt system, including education. The rest is up to them.
See I believe that is the problem. To many Americans are focused on trying to give illegal immigrants the boot rather than trying to come up with a way to educate their citizens. If they become educated they could help themselves and won't need to come here in order to find a better life they could do it in their own country w/out having to flee to a foreign country and leave everything behind.
Education takes money. You think it's a good idea for Americans to find ways to educated Mexicans in their own country? We have a broken education system here in the US, what makes you think we can save uneducated Mexicans in Mexico?
To answer this question yes I do. I believe it is the responsibility of the people in power to help and assist those that don't have the power to help themselves. You seem to have tunnel vision on Mexico let's stick with all illegal immigrants. So would you say that getting rid of all illegal immigrants would solve our problem?
You are out of your mind. The US already brings in over 2 million legal immigrants anually, mostly from poor countries. We give more foreign aid to poor countries more than any other country in the world. And it's also our responsiblity to pay for Mexico's education because their own government are greedy and corrupt? Fuck that.
Mexico is already a VERY rich country. Its just thet the money is not being distrubted fairly. The corrupt leaders spend very little on education/health so they can have more money for themselvs. How are we helping this corruption problem by allowing the leaders to keep doing dirty business as usual while we keep picking up the tab? Thats ridiculous. Let's force Mexico leaders to get their shit together and let them fix their own countries, its THEIR repsonsiblity, not ours.
What you are saying is it's MY responsiblity to take care of poor Mexicans with MY tax dollars because Mexican leaders want to stay greedy instead of fix their own broken system. If someone loses their job and becomes homeless, it's not my responsiblity to take them into my home, it's their responsiblity to take care of themselvs and get another job. Understand?
You know what I showed no disrespect when talking to you and I'm going to end this right now so if you want to curse go ahead but I'm not going to listen to it Goodbye.
And for the record my parents came here illegally but were naturalized citizens. Would I do the same thing...yes nobody likes living in poverty. Our population is too concentrated in this country. But again educate the masses and in time the immigration in this country will dwindle. But don't plan on seeing it happen anytime soon.
You did not answer my question. What should be done with estimated 20 million illegal aliens in the US? Yes of course they need to be educated, but not on US tax dollars. We have our own education money pot set aside for Amerian citizens and our tax dollars should not go for their education. The US should be focused more on helping Mexico change their horendous corrupt policies instead of constantly taking in millions of their poor. Get to the root or the problem, FIX MEXICO.
What do you think I meant by educate them. There is no 1 simple answer to that question. I believe prevention is key. Don't get tunnel vision on the illegal immigrants here focus on them over there and you will see a drop in illegal immigration and one of the ways to to do that is to assist in educating the citizens of South America. Read the final portion of my response again...the answer is there :)
Furthermore, the only way these people are going to prosper in their own country is to educate them but instead our gov't is so focused on giving them low paying jobs in other words a quick temporary fix to the problem. Studies have shown that when the population is educated the poverty status deminishes but gov't ignore it for numerous reasons.
I could only say so much due to limited space so to make my point. I don't advocate an open border policy but I don't agree with what I hear from the media and other sources about how Illegal Immigrants are such a burden on our nation its just a simple scapegoat tactics that's been used so many times before.
Last but not least I don't know any BruGal and I couldn't care less of if you tore him to pieces. And if you want to debate hey I'm all for it but remember you argued my last comment which was based on opinion but if you want me to pull out facts I'm game this could be interesting :)
I'd like to know your opinion of our illegal immigration crisis. Are you an open borders advocate? What should be done with all the illegals in your opinion?
Um it's called a typo, you really think someone would say that immigrants don't come from South America?! Come on, use your common sense. And don't judge me based on my final comment, O'Reilly has made comments which are much worse. And saying "he knows much more" is a judgement based on hostility and I can tell I upset you but don't take it personal I'm just stating my opinion :)
When is everyone going to learn that immigrants don't come from South America, the news just reports that. Take a history lesson you'll realize how this country was founded and it is messed up. Furhtermore, the outcome for other countries helped make them what they are today. Think about it we literally strong armed most Western America. Educate the masses don't give them crappy jobs and say you're helping them. Geez
Ninety percent of the comments on this page are ignorant, nearly as ignorant as O'Reilly. Listen to this fucking idiot: Blaming peoples compassion towards children for the children's death. This country was found on immigration.
"Killed him" is too harsh. If the doctor had "accidentally" dropped him a few dozen times, it would be more acceptable. After all, babies are wet and slippery at birth. ;)
Again, do all illegals come to the US to commit crimes? No, many come to work and feed their families. But as I showed you above, a good chunk of those border hoppers have bad intentions and are CRIMINALS. Ever took a look at the FBIs top ten most wanted list? Guess how many are born south of the border? Ever watch America's Most Wanted Brugal? Let's get REAL.
FBI's Ten Most Wanted (collected 7/8/07): 5 Hispanics, 4 Whites, and Osama Bin Laden. Looks like we have a major white guy problem too, don't you think? Not a single Black man up there; I guess that means racial profiling of Blacks is statistically inefficient.
More proof that a Most Wanted list is a poor benchmark of criminal demographics. 75% Whites is a misleading stat in itself. The definition of "White" for census purposes includes Mid-Easterners, Central Asians, and any Hispanics who listed themselves White. By that standard, if Bin Laden gets a green card, it a dead heat between the Whites and Hispanics (if none of the five Hispanic fugitives considers himself White).
Like I said, it's faulty logic and yet you choose to run with it.
How many of the 5 latinos you listed are illegal aliens? How many were born south of the border? We're not just talking about race, we're talking about Mexicans coming accross our borders and commiting crimes. Last I checked, quite a few were born in Mexico, although the site didn't say if they were illegal or not (discriminatory). If illegal aliens are only a very small percentage in the US, then virtually NONE should be in the top ten, right? Well that's just not the case is it BruGal.
Why do you insist on proving my point? Of the five Hispanics, only one was born in Mexico (one from Colombia, one from Honduras, and two born in the U.S.). One Mexican out of 10, and it's undetermined if any of the 3 foreigners are undocumented. You're ASSUMING that they are, which makes you the fool here, much like Mr. O'Reilly.
It is you who just proved my point. If "undocumented workers" are only coming across the borders to work, and they are only a very small percentage of the US (4%?), why are at least 3 to 5 ALWAYS on the FBIs most wanted list? Agan, all this shows is apparently a good percentage of them (in this case 30%) are simply not "coming here to work". You lose again.
BruGal, click on 'featured fugitives' at the fbi most wanted site. THen click those wanted for Murder. There are 72 fugitives wanted for murder. Out of the 72, 40 are hispanic. And out of that 40, 30 were born in Mexico. There's only 10 or so whites, and the rest are black, a few asian. Virtually all of those from Mexico are also wanted for 'flight to avoid prosecuation'. Gee, wonder where they flew back to?
BruGal, give it up. Seriously, you are starting to embarrass yourself. Its idiotic/blind to see all the violence that is happening in Mexico, look at FBI most wanted list of those born in Mexico, look at our illegal alien prison status as well as latino gang members, and then try to say illegal aliens "only come to work and are not violent". Get the hell out of here with that, and please start getting real. I have provided you with all the evidence and you still deny deny deny. Laughable!
Or maybe because immigration status provides no input as to the threat the individual poses; or maybe because not all of them are or have been in the U.S.
Aside from that, you're sidestepping the issue that you're simply ASSUMING these men were here illegally because that info isn't made available to you.
Use your fucking head BruGal! They are not US born, they commit murder, drug trafficking, flight to avoid prosecution etc. You think these thug murders from Mexico are gonna take the time and go thru all the red tape to enter the country legally??? Is that what you're telling me? Man you're a joke!
Uh...why do you think? Maybe because US citizens dont like immigrants coming into our country illegally and then hurting people and doing violence? Maybe because I want to live in the safe and civil society?
No, it means we should secure the borders. Why keep letting violent offenders enter the US? It's our government's duty to protect it's citizens. You on the otherhand are an open borders advocate, which suggests to me you dont give a shit. The docile majority will most likely be given amnesty, what else are we gonna do with them? But we need to secure the borders, and BEFORE "the US saves Mexico".
Again, 40 hispanics out of the 72 FBIs Most Wanted for murder, and only 12 or so whites. What was that you were saying about the "white guy problem"? Not to suggest whites dont commit violence, but there's obviously a bigger problem in the latino community so stop playing blind, you know it's true.
Right, 40 HISPANICS, not ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS! You see, as long as you keep referring to statistics about Hispanics and injecting them into this conversation as if the terms "Hispanic" and "illegal immigrant" are interchangeable, you're fight a flawed battle (and risking coming off as racist).
30 of them MEXICO BORN. And again, you're a fool for telling me those 30 entered the country legally before commiting murder. Again, is that what your saying Brugal? These Mexicans entered the country legally and then commited these crimes? Dont dodge the question this time around. If they didn't first go thru all the redtape and enter legally, that would make them ILLEGAL wouldn't it?
After all BruGal, you're the one who said the only immigrants who enter legally are the well off ones who dont really need to come here. Are the Mexican born murderers/thugs you see in the pics the "well off" immigants you were refering to that entered legally? Is that what you're telling me? Common sense doesn't make me a racist, but of course you're running out of excuses so you had to throw that one in there. Ha!
I don't make assumptions on legal status. By the way you're leading the conversation, you make it seem like the middle class doesn't commit violent crime. And you're making it out to appear as if Mexicans come here with the primary purpose of breaking the law. Only those involved in organized crime in Mexico do. Do you also have a stat citing what percentage of the illegal population has mob ties?
"I don't make assumptions on legal status" in other words you don't use simple common sense. Agai, THEY WERE BORN IN MEXICO. You also managed to dodge the question again. You certainly had no problem ASSUMING everyone who enters the US legally are already well off. Did you not?
If you read my posts, you'd see I have already made it clear most illegal immigrants come to work, but a good chunk of them do violence and break other laws. If we had secure borders we wouldnt have that problem. The US already has enough legal citizens commiting crimes, we dont need illegal aliens crossing over to commit even more, I dont give a fuck what mob tie they belong to.
Why is amnesty bad? Maybe you need to read thru this entire debate again. Amnesty is bad because it only encourages more illegals to cross the border. Amnesty sends the message to other forigners "dont worry about immigrating legally, just sneak in and eventually you'll become legalized." There is precedent for this, look at Regan's 80s amnesty act. That was only 2 million, 20 years later we have 20 million more.
Amnesty is bad because the long term cost will be immense, as Robert Rector points out. Legalizing 20 million under educated aliens means serious strain on our social services like welfare, food stamps, public housing, retirement etc.
Amnesty is bad because it says to those millions who committed identity theft, faked and stole SSI#s, forged documents (all felonies), we forgive you. It does not sit right for a many Americans who have to obey the law or they receive punishent, yet the illegals broke multiple laws and are instantly pardoned.
Amnesty is bad because it once again allows Mexico to keep opperating in their corrupt, third world ways, and America will pick up the tab as usual. Despite all this, I'm willing to give at least most (not all) illegals amnesty, but ONLY after securing the border, and not a minute before. Without tight border security so we don't have to repeat this in 10 years, NO DEAL PANCHO.
There are millions elsewhere in the world waiting to come here, who can't just sneak across the border. Legalizing somewhere between 20 to 50 million illegal Mexicans (counting families in Mexico) would mandate cut-backs on our anual legal immigration. THey'll get passed over by those who broke the law and entered illegally. So where's your compassion for those in all other other impoverished countries who desperately need to come here? Or is your loyalty and compassion only with Mexico?
Brugal, it's not very hard to find illegal alien crime stats. Just google "illegal immigrant crime statistics" and the first 10 links pop up will give you what I have posted above. It's really a no brainer brugal, you gotta be a complete ignorant idiot to say illegal aliens (particularly those from Mexico) do not commit disproportionate amount of crime. Lets cut the crap.
What great research, type in a few a words and take the first results that pop up. I'm sure you won't come up with dubious data that way. Integrity of sources count, buddy.
Find me a website that debunks these findings and then we'll talk. Give it up BruGal, it's a lost cause. You and I both know the violence that's happening in Mexico right now, so dont pretend you dont. We know the violent drug cartels are spewing violence all over our border towns and in Mexico. You gotta be a complete moron to say that violence is not spilling into the US because it is. Are you gonna argue this?
Anyone can make a website and make up data to make their point. Citing credible sources makes you that much more credible.
So we've got anywhere from 12 to 20 million gangbangers, drug traffickers and other menaces to society? I'll assume you're reasonable enough to agree that's not the case, but you're still proposing mass deportation because of some bad apples. Let's arrest all drunks because some drive drunk and kill people. It doesn't work that way.
Dont put words in my mouth. The only ones I said to deport are the criminal aliens. The rest should be on a case by case basis. Most will probably be allowed to stay and become legalized, although studies have shown legalizing 10 million people will have a serious impact on our economy. Welfare, social security etc will suddenly be available to them and this will cost trillions.
Better idea is, simply enforce the laws that are already in place. Employers stop hiring illegals, cut off all the other freebies and most of the illegals won't have any more need to be here and they can go back home. But if we have to legalize all of them, fine. I simply want the mass illegal immigration to stop, borders secured. This was supposed to be part of the amnesty package in the 80s but the borders were never secured and now we have 20 million new ones.
Well, you're against amnesty ("We don't want an 'amnesty bill'..."), and you categorized the influx of illegal immigrants as "chaotic." What's your bright idea? Keep 12 to 20 million living on slave wages and without a voice? If that's your answer, then what are we arguing about; you already have it your way.
Welfare is limited to 5 years of benefits for life; after that, you get placed on welfare-to-work. Soc. Sec. is an earned benefit; only those who put into the pot get a claim.
Robert E Rector, a leading authority on poverty and the US welfare system-"The fiscal consequences of amnesty will vary depending on the time period analyzed. It is expected that many illegal immigrants who are currently working "off the books" and paying no direct taxes will begin to work "on the books" after receiving amnesty, and therefore tax payments will rise immediately.
By contrast, under S. 1348, benefits to these immigrants from Social Security, Medicare, and most means-tested welfare programs (such as Food Stamps, public housing, and Temporary Assistance to Needy Families) will be delayed for many years. In consequence, then, the increase in taxes and fines paid by amnesty recipients may initially exceed slightly the increase in government benefits received. In the long run, however, the opposite will be true
In particular, the cost of retirement benefits for amnesty recipients is likely to be very large. Overall, the net cost to taxpayers of retirement benefits for amnesty recipients is likely to be at least $2.6 trillion."
2.6 trillion dollars BruGal, that American tax payers will foot the bill. Yeah, illegals are "good for the economy".
The key phrase here isn't "$2.6 trillion." It's "American taxpayers." In Rector's scenario, 10 million immigrants will be legalized and fall under the category of "American taxpayer." You contribute, you redeem. What, you expected to turn a profit through amnesty? Why doesn't Rector supply estimates of the taxes those 10 million will be paying in? Something to hide, perhaps? And why will the balance of accounts payable vs. receivable reverse in the long run?
He is the author of America's Failed $5.4 Trillion War on Poverty, a comprehensive examination of U.S. welfare programs, and co-editor of Steering the Elephant: How Washington Works. Rector holds a B.A. from the College of William and Mary and a M.A. in political science from Johns Hopkins University.
I'm sure he's done the basic math Brugal. Email him with your questions, I'm sure he'll be glad to enlighten you.
Here's Rector's math, since you can't even read through your own research thoroughly.
The estimated current tax burden illegal immigrants TODAY is $17K per year per illegal. Should amnesty be granted to 10M, 8.5M can be expected to reach retirement age. Expected to live 18 years beyond retirement age:
1) As legal taxpaying residents, the amnestied would contribute more than the $9K they pay in now.
2) Rector conceded that in the short term, the amnesty would create a "profit" (more taxes collected than benefits paid out); why isn't that profit calculated or factored in?
3) Since 85% of the amnestied will have paid into the pot, even if 2.6 trillion had been accurate, those 8.5 million will have footed the bill as well (not to mention the other 1.5 million that paid in but didn't get to cash out).
Having a Master's in political science doesn't make him an expert in economics.
Bravo, nice work. I especially love how you neglected to figure in exactly how much these newly amnesties will cost the tax payers in food stamps, public housing, welfare etc that will be readily available to them once they are legalized. I should email these "figurings" of yours to Rector himself, he'd probably get a nice laugh. I dont thin you nor I are qualified to seriously debate this, but I will email Rector to get a better understanding of his data.
Well, I'm no economist, so I just took for granted Rector's assertion that amnesty would, in the short term, produce the "profit" I described. Perhaps it's foolish of me to take his statement at face value, but I did NOT overlook that part of the equation.
What you also forgot to add into the equation were the families in Mexico of the 10 million "undocumented" that would have been allowed to legally come here legally. That was part of the amnesty package the senate was trying to pass. It's estimated to be as high as 50 million legalized when all's said and done. Plus we're already legally immigrating over 2 million a year, plus we still have millions crossing the Mexican borders illegally. The cost would have been catastrophic to the economy.
Even when the economy is booming, illegal immigrants are somehow depicted as dead weight on the marketplace. Meanwhile, outsourcing, downsizing and corporate greed get a pass. It's bullshit.
You know what 10 million legalized immigrants would cause? Ten million people with rights, opportunities, benefits and a voice. But some people think you should only be entitled to this if you can speak the King's English.
legalizing 10 million aliens would cost tax payers 2.6 trillion dollars. Robert E.Rector specializes in this field, go look him up. Brugal you dont have a clue to what you are talking about.
--In 2004, the federal government reimbursed states and counties almost $300 million for 270,807 illegal aliens in custody in jails and prisons. This number does not
include illegal aliens in jails in states and counties that did not request reimbursement (such as Illinois and Wisconsin), so the real number is higher. (A
Incarceration costs to the taxpayers were estimated by the justice department in 2002 to be $891 million for federal prison inmates and $624 million for inmates in state prisons
A Google search for this stat turns up five results. Three from blogs that can be made and run by anyone who does sloppy research, one from a craigslist posting (???), and the other from a biased site that doesn't cite sources. Either way, $1.5 billion is a pretty modest number nationwide considering your previous quote of $700 million for CA alone. What do you think?
What do I think? I think all criminal illegal aliens need to be deported, no matter what the cost. Whether it's in the millions or billions, I dont want my tax money paying for them. Deport them immediately.
But you don't mind paying exorbitant costs to house and feed the rest of the inmates. The bigger problem with our corrections system is that we incarcerate too many people on petty drug charges. We think the answer to crime is to lock them away for some time and hope that fixes them. Prison does no one any good. The US has the highest ratio of imprisoned residents of ANY nation, and it's no surprise that we're the only nation that uses imprisonment rather than treatment to reform convicts.
That's an entirely different discussion. The fact is, if you are an incarcerated illegal alien, you already showed you had no respect for our laws by crossing the border. Then you break the law AGAIN. Whether it's on "petty" drug charges or murder, you broke two laws in a country you have no business being in. They alien knew the rules before he entered the country. Deport that fucker immediately. All of em.
Oh BruGal how dare you. After all you are the bleeding heart who says "our prisons are too harsh". I'm shocked.
Don't get all dramatic, it won't help your cause. They don't need to be in this country. Are you arguing this? You think my tax dollars should go to criminal illegal aliens? Give me a straight answer this time.
Hey, it's the most cost-effective way to secure the border, even more so than a $1-million-a-mile border wall. And it's all about the bottom line in the good ol' U.S. of A., isn't it?
I don't think tax dollars should go to criminal illegal aliens; the "execute 'em" reply was meant to show that even if we do deport, there's a very good chance that they'll just come back. I bet you'll agree that a criminal in jail with tax dollars is better than a criminal in Mexico with no deterrant to cross.
From 1980 to 1999, the number of illegal aliens in federal and state prisons grew from 9,000 to 68,000. Today, criminal aliens account for almost 30% of the inmates in federal prisons and 15-25% in many local jails.
One sentence doesn't necessarily relate to the other. In a 20 year span, ILLEGAL aliens in fed and state prisons grew over 750%, while today nearly 30% of inmates in fed prisons are comprised of ALL aliens (legal or illegal). Either faulty wording or a misleading stat. So which is it?
In fiscal year 2002, 33.6% of all criminals sentenced in federal district courts under Federal Sentencing Guidelines were non-citizens, and 55% of these non-citizens were illegal aliens. This means that illegal aliens accounted for 17.5% of all crimes prosecuted in federal courts, whereas they are less than 6% of the adult population.
The number of illegal aliens sentenced in federal courts increased by 167 percent , compared with 13 percent for citizens. The number of legal aliens declined by 18 percent over this period.
The share of defendants in federal courts who were illegal aliens rose from 4 percent to 11 percent while the share who were legal aliens declined from 12 percent to 9 percent.
A vague statistic, not to mention possibly outdated or outright false. A Google search cites the 167% increase as ranging from 1991-1995, making it outdated. Second, "sentenced" doesn't describe the nature of the crime at all. They could very easily misdemeanors, and there are quite a few stupid laws on the books. Also, the "stat" was quoted alongside a host of other dubious assertions.
The leadership of the Columbia Lil Cycos gang, which uses murder and racketeering to control the drug market around L.A.s MacArthur Park, was about 60 percent illegal in 2002, says former assistant U.S. attorney Luis Li. Francisco Martinez, a Mexican Mafia member and an illegal alien, controlled the gang from prison, while serving time for felonious reentry following deportation.
A confidential California Department of Justice study reported in 1995 that 60 percent of the 20,000-strong 18th Street Gang in southern California is illegal; police officers say the proportion is actually much greater. The gang has grown dramatically over the last two decades by recruiting recently arrived youngsters, most of them illegal, from Central America and Mexico.
In Los Angeles, 95 percent of all outstanding warrants for homicide (which total 1,200 to 1,500) target illegal aliens. Up to two-thirds of all fugitive felony warrants (17,000) are for illegal aliens.
I could give a shit less about this video, you and the sick pathetic life you live. Funny how you tell others not to cuss then you go and do the same thing you worthless piece of shit and poor excuse for a human being.
Could give a shit less about this video, but you went out of your way to make another YouTube account to take another jab at me. And I blocked you for needlessly slinging insults at exploited people. And since you insist on bringing nothing more of value to the debate, I'm gonna go ahead and block you again.
BruGal you are one pathetic bitch! Commenting on my posts after you blocked me. How pathetic are you to pretend you are right when you are just some pathetic loser who can not accept the truth.
I just love these people that rationalize people violating our constitutional rights. If liberals don't value the constitution, they can move to a communist country and quit trying to take mine away.
You will always find someone who has very few or no brain cells. Much like BruGal who can't stand to be wrong. Be careful he likes to block people who don't agree with his view points in a last ditch effort to find just one person to agree with him.
It is people like BruGal who are ruining this country. "Let's save as many illegal 3rd worlders as we can with no regard to the damage the US citizens will suffer. Oh and of course if anyone argues this, always play the race card." BruGal needs to be shipped off to Latin Ameria. He or she certainly does not deserve to live in the US. If you're so concerned about the "compassion" of these people, go join them.
No kidding. He is still upset because more intelligent people are voicing their opinions and so far from what I've seen no one has sided with him. He fails to see that the man or one of his b!tches killed his own kids. Too bad so sad.
Oh wow, no one has sided with me on immigration policy in a YouTube comment board; I guess that means I'm wrong.
Guess what? Because you insist on using unnecessary language, you'll now spend the rest of this conversation as a humble observer. You see, now I'm using the "three strikes" policy that some broken justice systems so cherish.
Instead of telling everyone not to cuss then doing it yourself, why don't you grow up and not go cussing in your own posts. You are now and will always be some pathetic loser who has no friends and no one to agree with you.
Yes, I'm ruining this country. I'm the one that wants to deport about 5% of the country's population. I'm the one that says, "You know, I know my ancestors came to this country penniless and many times without documentation, and made something of themselves with just a simple opportunity; but you know what, it's a new century and we're not nice people anymore."
I have yet to meet a US citizen suffering due to illegals. And I'm still waiting for your evidence of meat cutters earning $19/hr.
Nobody is going to deport the illegals who are already here working. We simply want the mass flow to STOP. We don't want our children to grow up in Mexico-America. Oh but that's racist right? We're sick and tired of the government selling out the US illegally for profit. We're tired of the 30,000 plus MS-3 gangbangers terrorizing US citizens.
We're sick of our hospitals being closed down due to illegals. We're sick of the garbage illegals leave behind in the deserts. We're sick of illegals mooching off our social services. We're sick of the out of control populaton boom hurting the enviornment. We're sick of working class wages beign driven down due to illegals. We're sick of the raped law of anchor babies, getting all the freebies for making it across and having all your babies here.
We're sick off all the hypocricies-such as illegals marching here instead of their own countries, proudly waving the flags of the country they had to flee. We want Mexico to fix it's own corruption problem so the're people dont have to flee. Illegally crossing the boarder doesn't help fix Mexico's delimma, it only strengthens the corrupton. Why cant you understand this?
"We want Mexico to fix it's own corruption problem so the're people dont have to flee."
Well you've finally stated something I agree with, which is basically the point I've been trying to make since this conversation started. Probably the basic difference in our thinking is that you want to cut off illegal immigration BEFORE addressing gov't corruption in Mexico, and I want to handle the corruption first and then watch border crossings dwindle without the aid of a fence.
So US citizens are just supposed to wait around patiently for Mexico to get their shit together, while America simultaneously has to keep taking in more and more illegal aliens and dealing with all the problems that come with it? Are you joking?? Should we just throw in the towel, except it and all start learing to speak spanish?
Look pal, Mexico's corruption problem is MEXICO'S PROBLEM. Working/middle class Americans shouldnt have to suffer because of it. Mexican govenment profiting off illegal alien/US dollars is part of the corruption, duh! (there highest source of revenue) And as long as Mexico can keep pimping out the poor, causing there own people to flee, the corruption will not end. You have it completely backwards.
Once we protect the borders (as any nation should do) and cut off the supply, Mexican leaders will finally be forced to deal with a revolution (just as America already did centuries ago) and the corruption will be dealt with (hopefully). The constant flow of Mexico's poor illegal flooding America does nobody any good except the corrupt Mexican govenment and the corrupt US businesses ILLEGALLY profiting from them as well.
No, US citizens are supposed to put pressure on our own government to address Mexican corruption. Of course that means scrapping lopsided "free trade" agreements, and you know the good old US of A is all about the bottom line.
Your suggestion is to tell them, "Go away, and we MIGHT think about helping you." And once they're gone, you don't see them, so you don't think about them.
I don't get your logic, seems based on biased emotion rather than rational. Sure, Americans should pressure government to address Mexican corruption, but more impportanly, we should secure our borders (whats the fucking point to even having border patrol?). We have ENOUGH illegals here, some estimate over 20 million. Let's stop the continuous flow FIRST, then go from there. I dont see why this sounds so "uncompassionate". Every country has the right to secure it's borders, right?
Every pole shows most Americans by far want our borders secure. We want a fuctioning, organized country, not a bunch of illegal alien chaos or corrupt businesses/politicians who only want them here for slave labor and votes. We , THE MAJORITY, have every right to demand our borders be secure, just as every other country has that same right. Including Mexico, they militarize their southern borders. We deal with America FIRST, Mexico's corruption problem we deal with AFTER we secure our borders.
what a pathetic little man. hope he has a heart attack.

HistoryMajor7 3 years ago
i'll not debate history with you. But there are weak and strong people and nations if your weak sucks to be you. for instance if i'm on the street and get robbed it's my fault if i wasn't strong enough to defend and repel an attacker i guess i don't deserve to keep what is mine.
banshee17067 3 years ago
I do not agree with your logic. Their economic structures were basically retarded due to global factors, exploitation being one of them. You can learn to understand the problem and realize there are global repurcussions (such as mass immigration) and try to figure out how to repair the damage or be apathetic towards it and face the consequences of it later. From the looks of things you chose the latter.

Gotta say..O'Reilly is right on the money on this one. Working as a Firefighter I have seen many Apartments over occupied. This increases risks and dangers. Compassion has little to do with general safety and health.
bayondai 4 years ago
Being a firefighter in an extremely busy and diverse area, I've run more fire in middle class and upper class residential areas than the lower class areas. However, I do agree that over occupied homes pose a great threat and it just so happened this fire was in the Bronx (one of the most diverse boroughs of NYC)to a lower class, of color working family. Bad arguement by O'Reilly to blame immigration for this tragedy, after all it was immigrants who laid the foundation for this nation.
Jdabig1 4 years ago 3
These are not immigrants...they are illegal immigrants! There is a big, big, difference! They are forced to live in tighter quarters due to there illegality!

You pro-illegal immigrant guys keep tring to win this debate via "sympathy" and "compassion". It doesn't work that way.
Wendal07 4 years ago

That is from one of my history courses...the numbers don't lie. I'm still not accounting for the Asian and African American immigration. Still think your ancestors didn't come in huge numbers, if you do please elaborate.
acerx7 4 years ago
That is a huge number if you take into account the world's population
acerx7 4 years ago
US Population Western Boundaries # of States
1790- 3,900,000 Miss. River 13
1820- 9,600,000 Rocky Mtns. 23
1850- 23,100,000 Pacific Ocean 31
The percentage of immigration was huge over 80% came from Western Europe
acerx7 4 years ago
Even if these numbers are accurate, so what. It has nothing to do with ILLEGAL immigration. We're not talking about legal immigration that occured in the 1800s, we're talking about ILLEGAL immigration that's occuring now, get with the times.
Wendal07 4 years ago

We're not all bad.
acerx7 4 years ago
You are an illegal immigrant?
Wendal07 4 years ago
I am legal and so are my parents. May I ask where your ancestors came from and how you know they came here legally...just out of curiousity.
acerx7 4 years ago
Italy and Ireland in the early 1900s. Both legal.
Wendal07 4 years ago
You can't really do much about the illegal immigrants here unless you want some rodeo like action of people rounding them up and shipping them off ALA Warsaw. They are just people trying to find a better life, just like your ancestors did. Leave 'em be. We have far much worse things going on.
acerx7 4 years ago
All this aside, how are you going to tell a child, "you can't learn to read and write. Only I can do that!" I can't do that. That is just heartless and cruel to tell that to a child, regardless of where they come from.
acerx7 4 years ago
They can learn to read in write in their own country. Mexico has an education system, although a broken one. You need to stop being so emotional about all this and start being realistic.
Wendal07 4 years ago
My ancestors came here legally, and they didn't come in such massive numbers like near 20 million illegal Mexicans. Here's what we do, stop giving illegal aliens jobs, and we won't have to do a "rodeo roundup" they'll simply go back home. What's wrong with that? The law states it's illegal to hire them anyway, what's wrong with enforcing the law? Mexico's immigration laws are much stiffer than that.
Wendal07 4 years ago
That is just my opinion. Whether it is right or wrong who knows but it fact that education does promote a better life. Problem with this this solution is that it will take time but weren't not putting to much effort into it.
acerx7 4 years ago
Again, it's not our job to pay for Mexicos education. We're already paying enough for the illegal aliens education. This may sound harsh and uncaring, but let's get real here. All Americans can do is put more pressure on the leaders of Mexico to fix their corrupt system, including education. The rest is up to them.
Wendal07 4 years ago
See I believe that is the problem. To many Americans are focused on trying to give illegal immigrants the boot rather than trying to come up with a way to educate their citizens. If they become educated they could help themselves and won't need to come here in order to find a better life they could do it in their own country w/out having to flee to a foreign country and leave everything behind.
acerx7 4 years ago
Education takes money. You think it's a good idea for Americans to find ways to educated Mexicans in their own country? We have a broken education system here in the US, what makes you think we can save uneducated Mexicans in Mexico?
Wendal07 4 years ago
To answer this question yes I do. I believe it is the responsibility of the people in power to help and assist those that don't have the power to help themselves. You seem to have tunnel vision on Mexico let's stick with all illegal immigrants. So would you say that getting rid of all illegal immigrants would solve our problem?
acerx7 4 years ago
You are out of your mind. The US already brings in over 2 million legal immigrants anually, mostly from poor countries. We give more foreign aid to poor countries more than any other country in the world. And it's also our responsiblity to pay for Mexico's education because their own government are greedy and corrupt? Fuck that.
Wendal07 4 years ago
Mexico is already a VERY rich country. Its just thet the money is not being distrubted fairly. The corrupt leaders spend very little on education/health so they can have more money for themselvs. How are we helping this corruption problem by allowing the leaders to keep doing dirty business as usual while we keep picking up the tab? Thats ridiculous. Let's force Mexico leaders to get their shit together and let them fix their own countries, its THEIR repsonsiblity, not ours.
Wendal07 4 years ago
What you are saying is it's MY responsiblity to take care of poor Mexicans with MY tax dollars because Mexican leaders want to stay greedy instead of fix their own broken system. If someone loses their job and becomes homeless, it's not my responsiblity to take them into my home, it's their responsiblity to take care of themselvs and get another job. Understand?
Wendal07 4 years ago
You know what I showed no disrespect when talking to you and I'm going to end this right now so if you want to curse go ahead but I'm not going to listen to it Goodbye.
acerx7 4 years ago
And for the record my parents came here illegally but were naturalized citizens. Would I do the same thing...yes nobody likes living in poverty. Our population is too concentrated in this country. But again educate the masses and in time the immigration in this country will dwindle. But don't plan on seeing it happen anytime soon.
acerx7 4 years ago
You did not answer my question. What should be done with estimated 20 million illegal aliens in the US? Yes of course they need to be educated, but not on US tax dollars. We have our own education money pot set aside for Amerian citizens and our tax dollars should not go for their education. The US should be focused more on helping Mexico change their horendous corrupt policies instead of constantly taking in millions of their poor. Get to the root or the problem, FIX MEXICO.
Wendal07 4 years ago
What do you think I meant by educate them. There is no 1 simple answer to that question. I believe prevention is key. Don't get tunnel vision on the illegal immigrants here focus on them over there and you will see a drop in illegal immigration and one of the ways to to do that is to assist in educating the citizens of South America. Read the final portion of my response again...the answer is there :)
acerx7 4 years ago
Furthermore, the only way these people are going to prosper in their own country is to educate them but instead our gov't is so focused on giving them low paying jobs in other words a quick temporary fix to the problem. Studies have shown that when the population is educated the poverty status deminishes but gov't ignore it for numerous reasons.
acerx7 4 years ago
I could only say so much due to limited space so to make my point. I don't advocate an open border policy but I don't agree with what I hear from the media and other sources about how Illegal Immigrants are such a burden on our nation its just a simple scapegoat tactics that's been used so many times before.
acerx7 4 years ago
Last but not least I don't know any BruGal and I couldn't care less of if you tore him to pieces. And if you want to debate hey I'm all for it but remember you argued my last comment which was based on opinion but if you want me to pull out facts I'm game this could be interesting :)
acerx7 4 years ago
I'd like to know your opinion of our illegal immigration crisis. Are you an open borders advocate? What should be done with all the illegals in your opinion?
Wendal07 4 years ago
Um it's called a typo, you really think someone would say that immigrants don't come from South America?! Come on, use your common sense. And don't judge me based on my final comment, O'Reilly has made comments which are much worse. And saying "he knows much more" is a judgement based on hostility and I can tell I upset you but don't take it personal I'm just stating my opinion :)
acerx7 4 years ago
...Oh and O'Reilly is a biased fox news idiot :)
acerx7 4 years ago
I'm sure he knows much more than you, especially judging by your above post which made no sense.

acerx7 4 years ago
When is everyone going to learn that immigrants don't come from South America, the news just reports that. Take a history lesson you'll realize how this country was founded and it is messed up. Furhtermore, the outcome for other countries helped make them what they are today. Think about it we literally strong armed most Western America. Educate the masses don't give them crappy jobs and say you're helping them. Geez

Wendal07 4 years ago
FBI's Ten Most Wanted (collected 7/8/07): 5 Hispanics, 4 Whites, and Osama Bin Laden. Looks like we have a major white guy problem too, don't you think? Not a single Black man up there; I guess that means racial profiling of Blacks is statistically inefficient.
Talk about faulty logic.
BruGaI 4 years ago
Considering whites are still around 75% of the nation, I'd say those are some pretty high disproportionate numbers for the hispanics.
Wendal07 4 years ago
More proof that a Most Wanted list is a poor benchmark of criminal demographics. 75% Whites is a misleading stat in itself. The definition of "White" for census purposes includes Mid-Easterners, Central Asians, and any Hispanics who listed themselves White. By that standard, if Bin Laden gets a green card, it a dead heat between the Whites and Hispanics (if none of the five Hispanic fugitives considers himself White).
Like I said, it's faulty logic and yet you choose to run with it.
BruGaI 4 years ago

O'Reilly.
BruGaI 4 years ago
It is you who just proved my point. If "undocumented workers" are only coming across the borders to work, and they are only a very small percentage of the US (4%?), why are at least 3 to 5 ALWAYS on the FBIs most wanted list? Agan, all this shows is apparently a good percentage of them (in this case 30%) are simply not "coming here to work". You lose again.
Wendal07 4 years ago
Are you dense?! The FBI makes no mention of their immigration status. You're making assumptions because it's convenient for your argument.
BruGaI 4 years ago
The FBI makes no mention of their immigration status because of sissy whiners such as yourself and La Raza (the race) who cry discrimination.
Wendal07 4 years ago
BruGal, click on 'featured fugitives' at the fbi most wanted site. THen click those wanted for Murder. There are 72 fugitives wanted for murder. Out of the 72, 40 are hispanic. And out of that 40, 30 were born in Mexico. There's only 10 or so whites, and the rest are black, a few asian. Virtually all of those from Mexico are also wanted for 'flight to avoid prosecuation'. Gee, wonder where they flew back to?
Wendal07 4 years ago
BruGal, give it up. Seriously, you are starting to embarrass yourself. Its idiotic/blind to see all the violence that is happening in Mexico, look at FBI most wanted list of those born in Mexico, look at our illegal alien prison status as well as latino gang members, and then try to say illegal aliens "only come to work and are not violent". Get the hell out of here with that, and please start getting real. I have provided you with all the evidence and you still deny deny deny. Laughable!
Wendal07 4 years ago
Or maybe because immigration status provides no input as to the threat the individual poses; or maybe because not all of them are or have been in the U.S.
Aside from that, you're sidestepping the issue that you're simply ASSUMING these men were here illegally because that info isn't made available to you.
BruGaI 4 years ago
Use your fucking head BruGal! They are not US born, they commit murder, drug trafficking, flight to avoid prosecution etc. You think these thug murders from Mexico are gonna take the time and go thru all the red tape to enter the country legally??? Is that what you're telling me? Man you're a joke!
Wendal07 4 years ago
Why do you insist on focusing on the criminals?
BruGaI 4 years ago
Uh...why do you think? Maybe because US citizens dont like immigrants coming into our country illegally and then hurting people and doing violence? Maybe because I want to live in the safe and civil society?
Wendal07 4 years ago
So that justifies denying amnesty to the docile majority?
BruGaI 4 years ago
No, it means we should secure the borders. Why keep letting violent offenders enter the US? It's our government's duty to protect it's citizens. You on the otherhand are an open borders advocate, which suggests to me you dont give a shit. The docile majority will most likely be given amnesty, what else are we gonna do with them? But we need to secure the borders, and BEFORE "the US saves Mexico".
Wendal07 4 years ago
Again, 40 hispanics out of the 72 FBIs Most Wanted for murder, and only 12 or so whites. What was that you were saying about the "white guy problem"? Not to suggest whites dont commit violence, but there's obviously a bigger problem in the latino community so stop playing blind, you know it's true.
Wendal07 4 years ago
Right, 40 HISPANICS, not ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS! You see, as long as you keep referring to statistics about Hispanics and injecting them into this conversation as if the terms "Hispanic" and "illegal immigrant" are interchangeable, you're fight a flawed battle (and risking coming off as racist).
BruGaI 4 years ago
30 of them MEXICO BORN. And again, you're a fool for telling me those 30 entered the country legally before commiting murder. Again, is that what your saying Brugal? These Mexicans entered the country legally and then commited these crimes? Dont dodge the question this time around. If they didn't first go thru all the redtape and enter legally, that would make them ILLEGAL wouldn't it?
Wendal07 4 years ago
After all BruGal, you're the one who said the only immigrants who enter legally are the well off ones who dont really need to come here. Are the Mexican born murderers/thugs you see in the pics the "well off" immigants you were refering to that entered legally? Is that what you're telling me? Common sense doesn't make me a racist, but of course you're running out of excuses so you had to throw that one in there. Ha!
Wendal07 4 years ago
I don't make assumptions on legal status. By the way you're leading the conversation, you make it seem like the middle class doesn't commit violent crime. And you're making it out to appear as if Mexicans come here with the primary purpose of breaking the law. Only those involved in organized crime in Mexico do. Do you also have a stat citing what percentage of the illegal population has mob ties?
BruGaI 4 years ago
"I don't make assumptions on legal status" in other words you don't use simple common sense. Agai, THEY WERE BORN IN MEXICO. You also managed to dodge the question again. You certainly had no problem ASSUMING everyone who enters the US legally are already well off. Did you not?
Wendal07 4 years ago
If you read my posts, you'd see I have already made it clear most illegal immigrants come to work, but a good chunk of them do violence and break other laws. If we had secure borders we wouldnt have that problem. The US already has enough legal citizens commiting crimes, we dont need illegal aliens crossing over to commit even more, I dont give a fuck what mob tie they belong to.
Wendal07 4 years ago
OK, so most illegal aliens come to live and work in peace, but amnesty is still bad. Where's the connection?
BruGaI 4 years ago
Why is amnesty bad? Maybe you need to read thru this entire debate again. Amnesty is bad because it only encourages more illegals to cross the border. Amnesty sends the message to other forigners "dont worry about immigrating legally, just sneak in and eventually you'll become legalized." There is precedent for this, look at Regan's 80s amnesty act. That was only 2 million, 20 years later we have 20 million more.
Wendal07 4 years ago
Amnesty is bad because the long term cost will be immense, as Robert Rector points out. Legalizing 20 million under educated aliens means serious strain on our social services like welfare, food stamps, public housing, retirement etc.
Wendal07 4 years ago
Amnesty is bad because it says to those millions who committed identity theft, faked and stole SSI#s, forged documents (all felonies), we forgive you. It does not sit right for a many Americans who have to obey the law or they receive punishent, yet the illegals broke multiple laws and are instantly pardoned.
Wendal07 4 years ago
Amnesty is bad because it once again allows Mexico to keep opperating in their corrupt, third world ways, and America will pick up the tab as usual. Despite all this, I'm willing to give at least most (not all) illegals amnesty, but ONLY after securing the border, and not a minute before. Without tight border security so we don't have to repeat this in 10 years, NO DEAL PANCHO.
Wendal07 4 years ago
There are millions elsewhere in the world waiting to come here, who can't just sneak across the border. Legalizing somewhere between 20 to 50 million illegal Mexicans (counting families in Mexico) would mandate cut-backs on our anual legal immigration. THey'll get passed over by those who broke the law and entered illegally. So where's your compassion for those in all other other impoverished countries who desperately need to come here? Or is your loyalty and compassion only with Mexico?
Wendal07 4 years ago
Brugal, it's not very hard to find illegal alien crime stats. Just google "illegal immigrant crime statistics" and the first 10 links pop up will give you what I have posted above. It's really a no brainer brugal, you gotta be a complete ignorant idiot to say illegal aliens (particularly those from Mexico) do not commit disproportionate amount of crime. Lets cut the crap.
Wendal07 4 years ago
What great research, type in a few a words and take the first results that pop up. I'm sure you won't come up with dubious data that way. Integrity of sources count, buddy.
BruGaI 4 years ago
Find me a website that debunks these findings and then we'll talk. Give it up BruGal, it's a lost cause. You and I both know the violence that's happening in Mexico right now, so dont pretend you dont. We know the violent drug cartels are spewing violence all over our border towns and in Mexico. You gotta be a complete moron to say that violence is not spilling into the US because it is. Are you gonna argue this?
Wendal07 4 years ago
Anyone can make a website and make up data to make their point. Citing credible sources makes you that much more credible.
So we've got anywhere from 12 to 20 million gangbangers, drug traffickers and other menaces to society? I'll assume you're reasonable enough to agree that's not the case, but you're still proposing mass deportation because of some bad apples. Let's arrest all drunks because some drive drunk and kill people. It doesn't work that way.
BruGaI 4 years ago
Dont put words in my mouth. The only ones I said to deport are the criminal aliens. The rest should be on a case by case basis. Most will probably be allowed to stay and become legalized, although studies have shown legalizing 10 million people will have a serious impact on our economy. Welfare, social security etc will suddenly be available to them and this will cost trillions.
Wendal07 4 years ago
Better idea is, simply enforce the laws that are already in place. Employers stop hiring illegals, cut off all the other freebies and most of the illegals won't have any more need to be here and they can go back home. But if we have to legalize all of them, fine. I simply want the mass illegal immigration to stop, borders secured. This was supposed to be part of the amnesty package in the 80s but the borders were never secured and now we have 20 million new ones.
Wendal07 4 years ago
Well, you're against amnesty ("We don't want an 'amnesty bill'..."), and you categorized the influx of illegal immigrants as "chaotic." What's your bright idea? Keep 12 to 20 million living on slave wages and without a voice? If that's your answer, then what are we arguing about; you already have it your way.
Welfare is limited to 5 years of benefits for life; after that, you get placed on welfare-to-work. Soc. Sec. is an earned benefit; only those who put into the pot get a claim.
BruGaI 4 years ago
Robert E Rector, a leading authority on poverty and the US welfare system-"The fiscal consequences of amnesty will vary depending on the time period analyzed. It is expected that many illegal immigrants who are currently working "off the books" and paying no direct taxes will begin to work "on the books" after receiving amnesty, and therefore tax payments will rise immediately.
Wendal07 4 years ago
By contrast, under S. 1348, benefits to these immigrants from Social Security, Medicare, and most means-tested welfare programs (such as Food Stamps, public housing, and Temporary Assistance to Needy Families) will be delayed for many years. In consequence, then, the increase in taxes and fines paid by amnesty recipients may initially exceed slightly the increase in government benefits received. In the long run, however, the opposite will be true
Wendal07 4 years ago
In particular, the cost of retirement benefits for amnesty recipients is likely to be very large. Overall, the net cost to taxpayers of retirement benefits for amnesty recipients is likely to be at least $2.6 trillion."
2.6 trillion dollars BruGal, that American tax payers will foot the bill. Yeah, illegals are "good for the economy".
Wendal07 4 years ago
The key phrase here isn't "$2.6 trillion." It's "American taxpayers." In Rector's scenario, 10 million immigrants will be legalized and fall under the category of "American taxpayer." You contribute, you redeem. What, you expected to turn a profit through amnesty? Why doesn't Rector supply estimates of the taxes those 10 million will be paying in? Something to hide, perhaps? And why will the balance of accounts payable vs. receivable reverse in the long run?
BruGaI 4 years ago
He is the author of America's Failed $5.4 Trillion War on Poverty, a comprehensive examination of U.S. welfare programs, and co-editor of Steering the Elephant: How Washington Works. Rector holds a B.A. from the College of William and Mary and a M.A. in political science from Johns Hopkins University.
I'm sure he's done the basic math Brugal. Email him with your questions, I'm sure he'll be glad to enlighten you.
Wendal07 4 years ago
Here's Rector's math, since you can't even read through your own research thoroughly.
The estimated current tax burden illegal immigrants TODAY is $17K per year per illegal. Should amnesty be granted to 10M, 8.5M can be expected to reach retirement age. Expected to live 18 years beyond retirement age:
17000 x 8500000 x 18 = 2.6 trillion.
And now why the math is flawed...:
BruGaI 4 years ago
And now why the math is flawed:
1) As legal taxpaying residents, the amnestied would contribute more than the $9K they pay in now.
2) Rector conceded that in the short term, the amnesty would create a "profit" (more taxes collected than benefits paid out); why isn't that profit calculated or factored in?
(cont.)
BruGaI 4 years ago
3) Since 85% of the amnestied will have paid into the pot, even if 2.6 trillion had been accurate, those 8.5 million will have footed the bill as well (not to mention the other 1.5 million that paid in but didn't get to cash out).
Having a Master's in political science doesn't make him an expert in economics.
BruGaI 4 years ago
Bravo, nice work. I especially love how you neglected to figure in exactly how much these newly amnesties will cost the tax payers in food stamps, public housing, welfare etc that will be readily available to them once they are legalized. I should email these "figurings" of yours to Rector himself, he'd probably get a nice laugh. I dont thin you nor I are qualified to seriously debate this, but I will email Rector to get a better understanding of his data.
Wendal07 4 years ago
Well, I'm no economist, so I just took for granted Rector's assertion that amnesty would, in the short term, produce the "profit" I described. Perhaps it's foolish of me to take his statement at face value, but I did NOT overlook that part of the equation.
BruGaI 4 years ago
What you also forgot to add into the equation were the families in Mexico of the 10 million "undocumented" that would have been allowed to legally come here legally. That was part of the amnesty package the senate was trying to pass. It's estimated to be as high as 50 million legalized when all's said and done. Plus we're already legally immigrating over 2 million a year, plus we still have millions crossing the Mexican borders illegally. The cost would have been catastrophic to the economy.
Wendal07 4 years ago
Even when the economy is booming, illegal immigrants are somehow depicted as dead weight on the marketplace. Meanwhile, outsourcing, downsizing and corporate greed get a pass. It's bullshit.
You know what 10 million legalized immigrants would cause? Ten million people with rights, opportunities, benefits and a voice. But some people think you should only be entitled to this if you can speak the King's English.
BruGaI 4 years ago
legalizing 10 million aliens would cost tax payers 2.6 trillion dollars. Robert E.Rector specializes in this field, go look him up. Brugal you dont have a clue to what you are talking about.
Wendal07 4 years ago
And you don't know how to analyze and question what you read. It's OK though, I'll walk you through it.
BruGaI 4 years ago
--In 2004, the federal government reimbursed states and counties almost $300 million for 270,807 illegal aliens in custody in jails and prisons. This number does not
include illegal aliens in jails in states and counties that did not request reimbursement (such as Illinois and Wisconsin), so the real number is higher. (A
lot higher! ed.)
Wendal07 4 years ago
Incarceration costs to the taxpayers were estimated by the justice department in 2002 to be $891 million for federal prison inmates and $624 million for inmates in state prisons
Wendal07 4 years ago
A Google search for this stat turns up five results. Three from blogs that can be made and run by anyone who does sloppy research, one from a craigslist posting (???), and the other from a biased site that doesn't cite sources. Either way, $1.5 billion is a pretty modest number nationwide considering your previous quote of $700 million for CA alone. What do you think?
BruGaI 4 years ago
What do I think? I think all criminal illegal aliens need to be deported, no matter what the cost. Whether it's in the millions or billions, I dont want my tax money paying for them. Deport them immediately.
Wendal07 4 years ago
But you don't mind paying exorbitant costs to house and feed the rest of the inmates. The bigger problem with our corrections system is that we incarcerate too many people on petty drug charges. We think the answer to crime is to lock them away for some time and hope that fixes them. Prison does no one any good. The US has the highest ratio of imprisoned residents of ANY nation, and it's no surprise that we're the only nation that uses imprisonment rather than treatment to reform convicts.
BruGaI 4 years ago
That's an entirely different discussion. The fact is, if you are an incarcerated illegal alien, you already showed you had no respect for our laws by crossing the border. Then you break the law AGAIN. Whether it's on "petty" drug charges or murder, you broke two laws in a country you have no business being in. They alien knew the rules before he entered the country. Deport that fucker immediately. All of em.
Wendal07 4 years ago
I have a better idea. How about we execute 'em, then we don't have to worry about re-entry.
BruGaI 4 years ago
Oh BruGal how dare you. After all you are the bleeding heart who says "our prisons are too harsh". I'm shocked.
Don't get all dramatic, it won't help your cause. They don't need to be in this country. Are you arguing this? You think my tax dollars should go to criminal illegal aliens? Give me a straight answer this time.
Wendal07 4 years ago
Hey, it's the most cost-effective way to secure the border, even more so than a $1-million-a-mile border wall. And it's all about the bottom line in the good ol' U.S. of A., isn't it?
I don't think tax dollars should go to criminal illegal aliens; the "execute 'em" reply was meant to show that even if we do deport, there's a very good chance that they'll just come back. I bet you'll agree that a criminal in jail with tax dollars is better than a criminal in Mexico with no deterrant to cross.
BruGaI 4 years ago
From 1980 to 1999, the number of illegal aliens in federal and state prisons grew from 9,000 to 68,000. Today, criminal aliens account for almost 30% of the inmates in federal prisons and 15-25% in many local jails.
Wendal07 4 years ago
One sentence doesn't necessarily relate to the other. In a 20 year span, ILLEGAL aliens in fed and state prisons grew over 750%, while today nearly 30% of inmates in fed prisons are comprised of ALL aliens (legal or illegal). Either faulty wording or a misleading stat. So which is it?
BruGaI 4 years ago
I'm pretty sure in this case illegal alien and criminal aliens meant the same thing. You're really reaching here BruGal.
Wendal07 4 years ago
In fiscal year 2002, 33.6% of all criminals sentenced in federal district courts under Federal Sentencing Guidelines were non-citizens, and 55% of these non-citizens were illegal aliens. This means that illegal aliens accounted for 17.5% of all crimes prosecuted in federal courts, whereas they are less than 6% of the adult population.
Wendal07 4 years ago
The number of illegal aliens sentenced in federal courts increased by 167 percent , compared with 13 percent for citizens. The number of legal aliens declined by 18 percent over this period.
The share of defendants in federal courts who were illegal aliens rose from 4 percent to 11 percent while the share who were legal aliens declined from 12 percent to 9 percent.
Wendal07 4 years ago
A vague statistic, not to mention possibly outdated or outright false. A Google search cites the 167% increase as ranging from 1991-1995, making it outdated. Second, "sentenced" doesn't describe the nature of the crime at all. They could very easily misdemeanors, and there are quite a few stupid laws on the books. Also, the "stat" was quoted alongside a host of other dubious assertions.
BruGaI 4 years ago
The leadership of the Columbia Lil Cycos gang, which uses murder and racketeering to control the drug market around L.A.s MacArthur Park, was about 60 percent illegal in 2002, says former assistant U.S. attorney Luis Li. Francisco Martinez, a Mexican Mafia member and an illegal alien, controlled the gang from prison, while serving time for felonious reentry following deportation.
Wendal07 4 years ago
A confidential California Department of Justice study reported in 1995 that 60 percent of the 20,000-strong 18th Street Gang in southern California is illegal; police officers say the proportion is actually much greater. The gang has grown dramatically over the last two decades by recruiting recently arrived youngsters, most of them illegal, from Central America and Mexico.

Could give a shit less about this video, but you went out of your way to make another YouTube account to take another jab at me. And I blocked you for needlessly slinging insults at exploited people. tianilove2 4 years ago
BruGaI 4 years ago
Nobody is going to deport the illegals who are already here working. We simply want the mass flow to STOP. We don't want our children to grow up in Mexico-America. Oh but that's racist right? We're sick and tired of the government selling out the US illegally for profit. We're tired of the 30,000 plus MS-3 gangbangers terrorizing US citizens.
Wendal07 4 years ago
We're sick of our hospitals being closed down due to illegals. We're sick of the garbage illegals leave behind in the deserts. We're sick of illegals mooching off our social services. We're sick of the out of control populaton boom hurting the enviornment. We're sick of working class wages beign driven down due to illegals. We're sick of the raped law of anchor babies, getting all the freebies for making it across and having all your babies here.
Wendal07 4 years ago
We're sick off all the hypocricies-such as illegals marching here instead of their own countries, proudly waving the flags of the country they had to flee. We want Mexico to fix it's own corruption problem so the're people dont have to flee. Illegally crossing the boarder doesn't help fix Mexico's delimma, it only strengthens the corrupton. Why cant you understand this?
Wendal07 4 years ago
"We want Mexico to fix it's own corruption problem so the're people dont have to flee."
Well you've finally stated something I agree with, which is basically the point I've been trying to make since this conversation started. Probably the basic difference in our thinking is that you want to cut off illegal immigration BEFORE addressing gov't corruption in Mexico, and I want to handle the corruption first and then watch border crossings dwindle without the aid of a fence.
BruGaI 4 years ago
So US citizens are just supposed to wait around patiently for Mexico to get their shit together, while America simultaneously has to keep taking in more and more illegal aliens and dealing with all the problems that come with it? Are you joking?? Should we just throw in the towel, except it and all start learing to speak spanish?
Wendal07 4 years ago
Look pal, Mexico's corruption problem is MEXICO'S PROBLEM. Working/middle class Americans shouldnt have to suffer because of it. Mexican govenment profiting off illegal alien/US dollars is part of the corruption, duh! (there highest source of revenue) And as long as Mexico can keep pimping out the poor, causing there own people to flee, the corruption will not end. You have it completely backwards.
Wendal07 4 years ago
Once we protect the borders (as any nation should do) and cut off the supply, Mexican leaders will finally be forced to deal with a revolution (just as America already did centuries ago) and the corruption will be dealt with (hopefully). The constant flow of Mexico's poor illegal flooding America does nobody any good except the corrupt Mexican govenment and the corrupt US businesses ILLEGALLY profiting from them as well.
Wendal07 4 years ago
No, US citizens are supposed to put pressure on our own government to address Mexican corruption. Of course that means scrapping lopsided "free trade" agreements, and you know the good old US of A is all about the bottom line.
Your suggestion is to tell them, "Go away, and we MIGHT think about helping you." And once they're gone, you don't see them, so you don't think about them.
BruGaI 4 years ago
I don't get your logic, seems based on biased emotion rather than rational. Sure, Americans should pressure government to address Mexican corruption, but more impportanly, we should secure our borders (whats the fucking point to even having border patrol?). We have ENOUGH illegals here, some estimate over 20 million. Let's stop the continuous flow FIRST, then go from there. I dont see why this sounds so "uncompassionate". Every country has the right to secure it's borders, right?
Wendal07 4 years ago
Every pole shows most Americans by far want our borders secure. We want a fuctioning, organized country, not a bunch of illegal alien chaos or corrupt businesses/politicians who only want them here for slave labor and votes. We , THE MAJORITY, have every right to demand our borders be secure, just as every other country has that same right. Including Mexico, they militarize their southern borders. We deal with America FIRST, Mexico's corruption problem we deal with AFTER we secure our borders.
Wendal07 4 years ago
