To Sampolit: in result of Soviet and German occupations over 89000 Estonian citizens were killed not 270 thousand. That number of 270000 Estonians includes all Estonians who suffered (escaped to West or came back from prison or Siberia but lived), incl those 90000 who were killed. Of course, the numbers are still horrific.

I study at the univeristy and I know history little better than average people.I lived 5 years of my childhood in the USSR.The only things I can remember is that there wasno food often, people stood hours and hours behind the shop doors just to get something, anything from the shop.80% of the products what were produced were shifted to Moscow and LEningrads markets....

The communist leaders oppressed the people and tortured those who longed for freedom. As for economy, the life of average people was horrible in all communist countries ; however, the communist party leaders had access to products at much lower prices than the people had to pay. In short, the people had to suffer so that the communist leaders could enjoy luxury life,including expensive Western goods. In North Korea, the communists continue to kill people. Communism is fascism.

The Germans executed about 5-10,000 people.Most were arrested and given somekind of courts and then execution.Some political, most excused in having Soviet conections. The Estonian jews, most of them evaqueted themselves into the USSR. The jews killed on the Estonian soil were commited by the SS einsatz commandos.Of course you know the opposite that Estonian civilians and estonian amry killed them. I am not suprised about that...

How much Estonians were killed by USSR ? How much by the Nazis ?

USSR and Russian authorities killed over 270,000 Estonians in ww 2.If we would count also from 12-20 century then we can talk abot number from 500,000 to 800,000.All neighbouiring Russian small counties did it, the Russian Empire did it, the Soviet Russia did it, the Soviet Union did it.
