My favourite is Slayers Chuck Norris style instant kill, he also reads a poem before before erasing his opponent from existence. Cant find its translation, i really want to know what it means.
We were talking about GG and BB t first and when I mentioned that I'm a pacifist(meaning that I don't wan't a flame war,) he started to bash my belief non-stop as if he knows better. I regretted replying to him.
As some of you know, Megaman Legends 3 was cancelled in July by Capcom. But many still want this game so please LIKE Create a Page100,000 Strong for Bringing Back Mega Man Legends 3 page so I at least have a reason to buy a 3DS
I seriously need to fucking learn some japanese. I'm getting reptitive that I wonder what all the hcaracter are saying or writting in this game. Especialy slayers finisher.
Oh, and I-no finish is freaking hardcore..only in guilty gear will you get owned by the power of rock.
Though some characters from Guilty Gear are superior design-wise to those found in BlazBlue (like A.B.A., Baiken, Potemkin, and Johnney mainly), BlazBlue is a far better game and I'm glad a 2D anime fighter was finely made that would put the others to shame.
The Street Fighter, King of Fighters, and Guilty Gear series simply could not produce a game that was not strictly designed for hardcore niche gamers with magic fingers.
LOL GG is way more complex than BB but it doesn't mean that average players like don't enjoy it. Maybe you like BB better, but it doesn't mean that it's a better game than GG.
Well duh, who's retarded enough to believe that their preference is the deciding factor of what makes a good game?
I actually have reasons. And overcomplexity is one of them. I absolutely cannot see the average player getting into Guilty Gear. No tutorial, extremely difficult combos, the eternally punishing "rapetheminthecorner" strategy, and an overall far less refined game (both graphically, mechanically, musically, and gameplay-wise) are all justifications for what I said.
I think you have valid reasons and justifications, but BB being better is still a matter of intelligent opinion. BB and GG cater to the FG community but they differ on targets. BB is attracts more people, while GG remains isolated with the hardcores. But should we really compare BB to its technical daddy? It's actually unfair to compare both games from the start because it creates the thinking that GG is WAY too hardcore while BB is a dumbed down imitation, which is untrue.
I think what's really unfair is you dumbing down what are obviously objective observations, and passing them off as "intelligent opinion", then subsequently dismissing the idea of comparing them altogether, which is entirely unjustified. The irrational fear that a comparison would compartmentalize them is stupid and not a valid reason.
The difference between us is that you so want to win this argument, when from the start I just expressed myself. I have no intention of proving that you're wrong or proving that I'm right and you called my statements as a pacifistic crap. GG has a lot of firsts; first FG with Heavy Metal music , first FG with a RPG-like universe, first FG that uses weird weapons other than fists. BB might be a revival of that legacy, but GG is first.
Quite simply, the vast majority of people, like you, need to grow a backbone and shed the pacifistic crap that translates to "you can't fairly judge against anything, because it's just your opinion".
If I said "Guilty Gear doesn't interest me", that's an opinion, but if I said "Guilty Gear is vastly improved in it's spiritual successor, BlazBlue, let me count the ways..." that's not an opinion.
I'm not being mean, this issue is just so prevalent that blatancy is long overdue.
Thanks for your criticism, and I hope you find your satisfaction in winning this argument. You judging me as irrational and stupid is well... umm. Anyway, it's a fact that BB has more features, better graphics, more refined music and story and using that criteria, you can say it's better. However, that is not my criteria, I factor in time, legacy, the capability of the company, little things that people might not care about.
I don't care about winning any argument, I'm just expressing that I find your dismissal of objectivity offensive.
Also, time, legacy, and capability of any company are entirely irrelevant. Anything of any kind must be judged solely on it's own merits. When it was, what it influenced, and who the people behind it were are entirely unrelated.
By that logic, the first of anything is automatically superior. Which by extension means Pong is the best game ever.
It's never my intention to offend you. I believe I see my mistake here, you were judging the games as games, but I'm seeing them as works of art. In terms of technology, one can never be subjective or expressivist. In morality, being not objective means that some practices can be permissible, even though they're obviously wrong. Yes, in terms of visible improvement and innovation, BB emerges out as a better game. But as a creative work, I make my stand that it's not superior
Now THAT makes a hell of a lot more sense. As a creative work BlazBlue is heavily derivative with Guilty Gear being the original "standard-setter". I can agree with you on that, but I maintain that gamers choose which games worth playing based on their capacity to entertain as a game, not a creative work.
When it comes down to it though, when you want to fight (rather than admire it), and you have BlazBlue and Guilty Gear on the table, BlazBlue is the obvious choice.
Some fans think differently, they find BB's character designs more appealing while GG is weird. BB is not only a derivative of GG, it's a collection of popular anime stereotypes/fetishes. In gameplay, I like GG for its speed.
In an economic perspective, GG and BB as goods are not substitutes but complements. However BB is more marketable and therefore, marketed more. GG is needed by BB for its production, but when it comes to consumers, BB is needed for GG to be promoted.
In terms of objectivism, yes, being "first" doesn't mean better. But there are things that you cannot quantify, and facts and mathematical properties are needed to make the most objective stand. Using these standards, you win this argument by default. However I make my stand that my statements are not stupid, but rather valid, just from a different perception. Yeah, I'm a pacifist, so what? Without pacifists, any fandom with be engulfed in flames *sound effects*
Valid from a different perception? And what perception would that be? One based on evidence, or one based on some incoherent societal misconception of the rationalized importance of era and popularity?
Subjugation of women was common practice for ages. The quality of those acts haven't changed in the slightest since. It was just as unforgivable then as it is now.
Pacifists prefer the path of least resistance, and ironically made up the vast majority of women back then too.
Valid in an artistic perception, which are not based on quantitative evidence but on many factors you consider irrelevant. And GG was never really popular outside Japan, it's a cult hit.
Pacifists can be rational, and they get killed, and when they get killed they inspire others. Our national hero was executed for writing two novels that has evil friars, even though the book is totally against revolution. His death started the revolution.
And honestly dood, I think you're also a pacifist, since you don't... harass, intentionally offend, troll, curse, hate mail, discriminate or attack me personally. And pacifism is all about avoiding violence anyway, not being a conformist or a friendship freak.
And about women like me... being a pacifist just increases our chance of survival. Likewise, male slaves obey their masters to stay alive. Emancipation needs an opportunity, sometimes there's none.
That's a strange perspective. Since when does anti-pacifism have to be negative?
To be pacifistic is to sit back and accept things as they are, even if there's a problem to be addressed, hiding behind the crap known as cultural relativism, and if-you-don't-judge-me-I-won't-judge-you.
To be otherwise is to take initiative, address all serious concerns, and to not be afraid of this hypocritical stigma against judging. The non-pacifistic MAKES opportunities to be emancipated.
Well I've read "pacifism" in the wiki and it seems that it has different angles. Pacifism does not equate to conformism(accepting things as they are) and indifference, it simply aims to look for a common ground but keeps human life and rights as priority. Violence is simply last resort when negotiations fail. Sadly, neo-colonialism is also a form of pacifism, you don't conquer them, but you pressure them to agree with unfair economic deals for your own profit (USA & Japan.)
Pacifism and conformity are unrelated. I never suggested pacifists were conformists. Most non-conformists are pacifists, actually.
When I refer to pacifism, I refer to people who take the passive approach to things rather than the assertive or apathetic approach. Apathetic people are just obstacles, while pacifists refuse to act despite numerous motivations. The concept of "violence never solves anything" is their mantra, yet is incredibly flawed.
"Pacifists... passive approach... refuse to act..." I believe that that's just a generalization. I study in a university known for its militant protests and I get scrutinized because of my perspective. While my schoolmates storm government offices and protest against corruption, I go to the mountain area and teach children. I respect their beliefs, but I just prefer action more than reaction. There are useless pacifists who live in denial, but pacifists are also diverse.
"Action more to reaction"? Sounds like an extremely different case of "inaction more than action".
Sounds like your schoolmates are actually trying to do something.
What you're suggesting reminds me of the science teachers who despite their respective disciplines are essentially fearful of trying to convince their religious students that they're being fed hooey.
I'm just going to quote from the wiki "In contrast to the nonviolence principle stands the non-aggression principle which rejects the initiation of violence, but permits the use of violence for self-defense or delegated defense. People supporting the non-aggression principle claim that the moral prohibition of the use of violence follows from argumentation ethics, which only applies when people are using argumentation to solve disputes. " There you go. Self defense is broad.
I not judging all of my schoolmates, but some of them protest against inflation(which can be controlled but will result to unemployment), commercialization and budget cuts. I stand with my college that scientifically determine the "most efficient economic policies" the government follows our advice. We know its inconvenient, but for example, if we control the price of oil, the results will be more disastrous long term.
Once again, I don't mean to insult you, I'm merely trying to make a point. Most people think republicans and democrats are the only political positions (or the only ones worth concerning), when in reality both are ruthlessly corrupt.
Similarly, the only issues in the media are presumably the only issues worth addressing. Like the price of oil. When in reality the price of oil is horrifically trivial next to other very real issues only exacerbated by the media overlooking them.
I know some people view charity as useless and a form of "inaction" but I believe in specialization. If you think you belong to the streets in protests then go ahead, if you are better off babysitting, then do that. Each has a part. Problem is that people label others as useless even if they're working towards the same goal.
And if I could, I would want to join them in the streets sometimes, but they're actually pushing socialism(and even communism) and I'm a capitalist.
Charity to anonymous recipients is always foolish, and I hazard to imagine how babysitting can affect change.
Also, capitalism, much like socialism/communism, is an incredibly flawed economic structure. I can reasonably assume that, as a pacifist, you have merely sided with the faction that makes the most sense.
Much like a child's naivete, who's raised christian and eventually zealously embraces it despite knowing little of the competition.
They're not conformists because they accept everything, they're conformist if they embrace everything, which isn't what I'm saying. Rather than embracing mindless genocide, or openly fighting it, they quietly state what they think and do essentially nothing.
Likewise, I could have hypothetically used stupid reasons to claim that Pong is the greatest game of all time. But instead of appealing to my intelligence, you'd just say "well, I don't agree, but that's your opinion".
Gandhi and Jesus Christ changed a lot, The People Power Revolution(look it up) worked, Aung San Suu Kyi is pretty admirable. I do admit that pacifism does not always work, but it still works, just like how armed struggles also fail sometimes. And also, it has evolved from "totally no violence" to "violence is the last choice."
"Violence is the last choice" isn't pacifism. Anyone who says that and claims to be a pacifist is a liar. That's like if someone said they were a pacifist but said "It's okay to be judgmental about people sometimes."
I want a BlazBlue vs Giulty Gear game.I know it wont happen because they're developing BlazBlue 3 right now...But in the future i really want to see a game with the full roster of both games...
Guilty Gear is one of my favorite fighting games. It jut sux tht it loses it's rights. Also the lame part for not making it was too old & hardcore. Thts why BlazBlue was made to do a reboot. I don't knw but either Guilty Gear is a good fighting game.
@weedgrass233 Guilty Gear X2 had two soundtracks. The original one most people know of, and one that was exclusive to the Korean version of the game. Ky's theme in that soundtrack is Pillars of the Underworld.
Don't get me wrong, I love the Street Fighter and Soul Caliber series, but there's just something about fighting games with blood that I love. I love being able to chop some dude in half after I've defeated him in battle. I don't know I guess I'm just fucked in the head, muhahahha

Likewise, I could have hypothetically used stupid reasons to claim that Pong is the greatest game of all time. But instead of appealing to my intelligence, you'd just say "well, I don't agree, but that's your opinion".
HatoburekaSutajio 5 months ago
@HatoburekaSutajio
Gandhi and Jesus Christ changed a lot, The People Power Revolution(look it up) worked, Aung San Suu Kyi is pretty admirable. I do admit that pacifism does not always work, but it still works, just like how armed struggles also fail sometimes. And also, it has evolved from "totally no violence" to "violence is the last choice."
danceljoy 5 months ago
@danceljoy
"Violence is the last choice" isn't pacifism. Anyone who says that and claims to be a pacifist is a liar. That's like if someone said they were a pacifist but said "It's okay to be judgmental about people sometimes."

Guilty Gear is one of my favorite fighting games. It jut sux tht it loses it's rights. Also the lame part for not making it was too old & hardcore. Thts why BlazBlue was made to do a reboot. I don't knw but either Guilty Gear is a good fighting game.

TheCtrl16 10 months ago 5
@TheCtrl16 Read the description. ;) 3:57 - 6:49 is "Pillars of the Underworld" (Ky's Theme)
BrezenMafiaJoe 10 months ago
@BrezenMafiaJoe i thought ky's theme was holy orders?
weedgrass233 7 months ago
@weedgrass233 Guilty Gear X2 had two soundtracks. The original one most people know of, and one that was exclusive to the Korean version of the game. Ky's theme in that soundtrack is Pillars of the Underworld.
