Eh. Kate's character and Jack's character were the worst in the show. They have no personality. Just a simple constantly pissed off guy and a girl who "loves" every guy she comes across. When she got Aaron she DID change a little and got a bit better, but she seems a bit too bland. Like they couldn't create a proper personality for her.

I liked Kate to begin with; she seemed strong and interesting. But she became so stubborn, and the whole Jack thing. It was clear to see that they were going to end up together, but after season 4, it was all "are we together? Can I look at him?" and in The End, I just thought "about time!" And the whole Sawyer thing; sure, they're attracted to each other, but he fell in love with someone else, and she didn't understand.

It was dragged out too long.

Kate was a good character. She was a true hero and I almost always felt for her. The only thing I didn't like about her was the fact that she kept getting caught while trying to prove that she could take care of herself.

What I loved about Kate was that she was independent, and did not give a flip and did whatever she wanted. Too bad a lot of her arc was defined by the triangle/quadrangle.

I guess I hated Kate for a while because I hated how she would bounce back and forth with James and Jack, wrapping both around her finger, and then feeling heartbroken when she kept seeing Jack with Juliet. But then, without her, there would be no beautiful masterpeice like this.

Kate does annoy me sometimes, just because she is so naive! Like when they draw straws to decide who carries the dynamite, she is lucky Jack took it because, ignoring entirely what Jack said, she starts running with her backpack on.. like seriously? are you stupid!? Another example is when she follows them when they go to meet the others and she gets caught. Argh, that's just a few times she has really annoyed me... but she's cool too I guess ^^

Why do some people hate on Kate?

Kate is great. I love Kate. Maybe she was more flawed than others, but just like everyone else, she grew out of the "live together, die alone" idea. That was clear to see as the show was drawing to a close. Especially with Claire and Aaron; she definitely loved them. I never viewed Kate as a "really bad" person. She did what she did for the people she loved.

@Rude666 i know...Kate is a good person.But I didn't like how she just bounced between them and then freaked out when she saw Jack with Julie,or when James told her that after she gets ticked with Jack she'll come back to him.And you have to admit, she didn't listen to instructions very well and that lead to little accidents that didn't need to have happened. Just check out that episode when she came back for Jack and messed up his way off the island. but Ur right again = we all make mistakes :)

The story don't make me love the character. I'm not really interested in the story of Charlie, Locke or Sawyer, but I love them.

Kate's an interesting case. She was brave and bold. She was truly capable of doing everything that men can do. Most of our smart decisions and moves came from her. Like most of the characters she was good inside with a tough outside. She had a huge soft side. Love Kate and this is a pretty cool song.

This music makes Kate seem really creepy...especially since it kinda sounds like that song from Psycho. Then if you think about it, Kate did alot of really disturbing stuff in her life before, during, and after the whole island thing! Thats why this song always gives me chills because I always think of her as just Kate then hear this and remember her story and think of her as creepy murderer convict Kate that killed her daddy... :O

I hated Kate. I liked her for 3 seasons, then suddenly something just clicked in me that started hating her. I was the same with Jack as well, though I started liking Jack on the last few episodes! :) This is a very good piece of music though!

Some of these them remind me a lot of other composer Morricone, Zimmer, Elfman and Herrmann primarily.

Giacchino seems quite skilled at blending all their qualities.

Sorry, didn't quite catch that, mate - you seemed to have sent it without finishing what you were trying to say. But her character is not just there as a love interest - maybe the majority is the love friangle between Jake, her and Sawyer, but it is also about her as a person who has lost her mother, her father and even herself at times.

That is why she is a deeply thought-out character.

I think, ultimately, that it might be to find Claire and be with Sawyer again, but then again I know as much about Season 6 as a pineapple.

Yeah - I'd like to think that she can come to some fulfilling conclusion as a character - she has been the one character whom so many people don't quite fully understand for so long now - Season 5 and her relationship with Aaron was beautiful to behold - seeing her grow into a mother figure and become caring for another like she had never been before. Season 6 holds both big answers and big character resolutions I hope.
