Russian animation: His wife is a hen (Его жена курица) 2/2

I was wondering why I couldn't understand this. They have so much in this. Thank you for clearing this up.

Within a night, blue guy realizes he needs her to do menial tasks (What if I were to drown in toothpaste?)

All in all, the Hen casually returns with just a phone call-- and you see this isn't the first time this escapade has happened at 4:15 because of all of the broom bristles that line the floor. Upon opening the door, the hen realizes something's different-- about her husband-- he has a gift to feed HER insecurities-- and an excuse to match. Disgusted, she leaves him, and the cycle ends.

(2) "Look at her.. did you ever notice that she's a hen? She has talons.." and so on. It's pretty interesting to see how over-dramatic the blue man's reaction is, as he examines her as if this is the first time he's been told this, sobs and whines, angrily throws his hen wife out-- breaking the monotonous cycle of their relationship. Notice the first thing the man in black stepped on upon his entrance was a plate (circle), and the hen, shocked also drops a plate, breaking it.

The best interpretation of this I've heard of this film is that this couple's relationship is a routine cycle-- hence all of the round symbolism (The Record, the Ladybugs, the round arcs in their home, the plates). Once in a while, the blue man summons the man in black-- whom I see as doubt. The black-suited man gives a gift-- to feed the blue man's worm-- a manifestation of his persuasion, or insecurities. The man in black kisses hen's husband and sparks an excuse to throw his wife out..(1)

Why did he have chicken feet at the end and why was his wife so horrified?

I think it's because he's become that which he hates (i.e., a chicken), and for some reason Mrs Hen hates it, too. Maybe because, despite his prejudices, she loved the non-rooster Blue Guy.

@CheeseWheel3 maybe she didn't realize that she herself is a chicken. or maybe she looked up to him, thinking he was no chicken, and got disappointed. i'd be disappointed too, if i were a lady and my husband was a chicken
