I unfortunately, don't know french at all. I was checking out Alain connes because i've recently come to learn that Alain Connes non-commutative geometry solves real analyses problems. I read about how Lebesgue theory derives the fundamental theorem of the Calculus from Willian Dunham; that's where he stops. I had recently gotten through John Stillwell's "Mathematics and its History" and was disappointed that he didn't show any of twentieth century progress on Lebesgue theory; then . . . more
. . . then, I recently found that Alain Connes work generalizes real analyses. Before, his works significance was still a bit beyond me; now, I'm very interested. Unfortunately, I don't know anywhere enough french.
Anyways, seems to me that complex analyses solves real analyses problems. What work in complex analyses either generalizes or is generalised by Alain Connes work?
